We knew we were in trouble when the harried, disorganized staff relied on the manager's memory to keep track of the waiting list. The ambiance at OOBC is a bit Modern Fred Flintstone, with half the place dedicated to a mostly empty lounge consisting of harsh-on-your-bottom curved cement benches around some wooden stumps set up as stools and tables. It's the kind of setting that could be really hip and cool when filled with people, or when empty like this night, weird and uncomfortable. They need more cushions here and maybe some hanging fabric to dampen the echos. In contrast to the empty uncomfortable lounge, the left half of the place was overly crowded by long tables placed too close together. You know they're too close together because the staff are constantly shoving your chair out of the way to serve others. Because the decor is so sparse, sound bounced everywhere, and it was very hard to talk because of the noise. They really need more soft furnishings to deaden the noise and make it feel more comfortable. Basically, months after this place opened, they still have not figured out how to use the space effectively. As for the service, the poor management of the waiting list was only the beginning of the chaos. When we were finally seated after a long wait, we were served by a confused staff of three different waitresses. At two different points in the evening, they served us coffees meant for other tables, and they seemed to be CONSTANTLY interrupting our conversation in order to collect empty glasses. I don't know if they're short on glassware or just wanted to seem attentive, but it was really ridiculous for them to constantly interrupt. As for the food, they did serve tasty burgers. I had the Mexican Ali, which to my Californian ears sounds like a strange name. I would have named it Mexicali or Mexican not sure what the heck an Ali is. Muhhamed Ali? The meat turned out uneven, with one half very pink and the other side very cooked. It was tasty enough, but I'm not sure it was worth the 9.50. So we won't be back at this place in a hurry. I still enjoy Coco's and Kasbar but they clearly haven't figured out how to run an organic burger place yet.

I should have removed it a bit quicker as it made the burger smell like a bonfire which took away from the taste. Decor in the place is quite good. However, there is a lot of seating inside the restaurant, including what looked like an upstairs seating area, as well as some tables outside, so it's possible it gets busier on weekends. The menu had a pretty large selection of burgers, chicken dishes, hot dogs, and even steaks and salads. There was also an enticing page of desserts, including milkshakes, cheesecakes, and sundaes. The mains came with a choice of side (salad, fries, mashed potatoes) and dipping sauce (garlic mayo, barbecue sauce, among others). I got the classic burger on a brioche bun with fries and garlic mayo. The burger was topped with the Tinsel Town sauce, which was tasty. However, the brioche bun was too dry/hard for my liking. The fries were fine. One of my coworkers got the cheese dog, which was really massive. It had some tomato slices tucked in. She wound up not being able to finish it; apparently it was a bit stodgy and might have been more manageable if it had been a frankfurter or something. She also got the halloumi appetizer with sweet chili sauce, which she really enjoyed. I got a brownie sundae for dessert. It was topped with a massive amount of whipped cream, but I would have preferred for it to have had a bit more ice cream underneath. The brownie chunks were tasty, though. One of my coworkers got the Kinder Bueno milkshake and said it tasted exactly like a Kinder Bueno. Service was pretty slow, especially given there were so few customers at the time. It took the server awhile to split the check, since she couldn't seem to remember who got what and had to redo the split a few times. It probably would have been easier to just get 1 check and divide it ourselves. The restaurant card reader did not accept my American debit card (which I historically have not had issues using abroad, in places as diverse as Bangkok and Stockholm). Thankfully, there is an ATM nearby and the server was patient and apologetic about me needing to step out to get cash. Overall, a very average dinner, but good if you're craving a milkshake and some fries. My burger and dessert came out to be about £13.

The most of all it was not much oily compared to what we get in any fast food take away shop. All other items on display also were very neatly arranged and clearly priced. They had various types of freshly made breads and pastry items.
