On Yelp, three stars means "OK" which is what I think about the New York Red Bulls. They've been OK. The Red Bulls are one of the 10 original teams to begin Major League Soccer (MLS) play in 1996. In 25 complete seasons, the Red Bulls have zero MLS Cup appearances. However, they have won the Supporters' Shield three times, one shy of the current league record co-held by DC United and LA Galaxy (four shields each). All three of the Red Bulls shields were won in the previous decade: 2013 (59 points), 2015 (60), and 2018 (71). So I guess you can say things have been trending up since 1996. The Red Bulls were at the top of the MLS standings at the conclusion of the 2018 regular season. They were the first-seed in the Eastern Conference. Unfortunately for New York/New Jersey, the Red Bulls lost to the eventual MLS Cup champions that year, Atlanta United FC, in the Conference Finals, 3-1. Atlanta was able to win the MLS Cup in just the team's second year of existence while after two-and-a-half decades, the Red Bulls are still searching for their first MLS Cup appearance. English forward Bradley Wright-Phillips played for the Red Bulls during the 2018 campaign. He was with the team from 2013 to 2019, appearing in 195 games, the most for any club in his career. For five straight seasons (2014-2018), Wright-Phillips was the team's top scorer. He holds team records in both goals scored in a single season (27 in 2014) and all time (125; second place is held by Juan Pablo Angel with less than half: 62). Since 2010, the Red Bulls' home has been "The Fortress," Red Bull Arena, in Harrison, New Jersey. Also referred to as the "Cathedral of American Soccer," Red Bull Arena has a seating capacity of 25,000, making it one of the bigger venues in MLS. If the team goes under, it'd Dead Bull. And if you go to watch a different team, it's Instead Bull. And if you get pleasure in the bathrooms at half time, it might be Head Bull? This is the original MLS team that I was fanatical about, and have been following for many years. Of course in my day they were the Metrostars, but my day is no longer the day - however I still I'm a fan and I still root for them a lot, and especially since they moved into this amazing Stadium, I'm kind of jealous because I didn't get to be a fan in these days, just in those days. Of course the stadium is actually not in New York City and not even near it so they really should be the Jersey team because this is the heart of Latin New Jersey. Pretty much right across the river from Newark. It's beautiful and amazing and I'm a huge fan of a team still to this day. I just wish they would have put some titles on the board to match how amazing they were in so many different seasons. They've been nothing but great for the league and especially in the Thierry Henry days and the Bradley Wright-Phillips days - it's been nothing but awesome for this team. They've been my favorite club since they were the MetroStars, and the fact that I interned for them and then went on to work for Red Bull makes me oddly OK with the corporate branding that they used to name the team. The new stadium will be sick, and it finally seems as though there is a coaching staff in place that can put a winner on the pitch. 5 stars only because Giants Stadium tailgates in the summer time before real football matches make me happy. read more

I love the Red Bulls! After moving to DC in 09 the annual visit from this team to RFK is something that I never miss. And they always beat the crap out of DC. THANK GOD. This team is aggressive, and plays defense like its their last game. They earn their 90+ minutes on the pitch, and for me there is never a dull moment. You can see the communication play out between the players, and they don't seem to hesitate to show some NY attitude. Tonight I got to see one of my all time favorite Arsenal / FFF players score, TWICE! Mr. Henry, I tip my hat to you, and proudly wave my french flag. This is the largest soccer specific stadium in the country, and, in my opinion, the nicest as well. There are many options for seating at Red Bull Arena. When sitting in Club Seating, you enter on a red carpet and receive a match power and whatever they are giving away that day, as well as a wristband. Then you enter the sandblasted New York Red Bull's logo elevator doors and make your way upstairs. The wristband mentioned before is used to gain access to the Audi Lounge. All food and non-alcoholic beverages are included with the purchase of your tickets. The gourmet food isn't the lounge is delicious. Once you are finished with your food, you can proceed to your seats outdoors. These seats come with a $225 price tag. If you don't want to buy the game expensive club seating seats, the seats in lower bowl are also great, and come with a $60 price tag. You have to buy food from the concessions stands which is also really good. The only difference is you don't have access to the Audi Lounge. If you are planning on heading out to Harrison, NJ any time soon to see the Red Bull's in action, I highly recommend getting Club Seating. Other than that, enjoy the best team in the MLS! read more

When I contacted the Red Bulls customer service, they gave me the opportunity to switch my seats to another game. The Red Bulls have a new, beautiful stadium this year (2010), in Harrison, NJ, easily accessible from the PATH train. The organization has made a number of big signings this summer, showing that they are serious about building a champsionship team. This is probably the most exciting year to be a Red Bulls/Metrostars fan since the league opened in '96. The Red Bulls game experience is not to be missed and is definitely the best value of any professional sports in the New York area, with a beautiful stadium, high quality of play, and the cheapest tickets around $20 - far cheaper than the other pro franchises.
