I was staying at the 25Hours hotel and needed some help with a US-made hair dryer that didn't seem to run on 220V power. Also, my daughters Apple computer wasn't charging very well, particularly when it was low on battery. I was lucky to find New York repair only a few hundred feet from the hotel. The person running the store, I assume the owner, was SUPER helpful. We diagnosed that my hair dryer didn't have the required dual 120V/240V power block so no typical converter would work. The best part of this was we tested different devices in the store, that he opened from packaging to get to the root cause. We did the same with my daughters Apple and found that the typical USB-C charger wall adapter didn't have enough wattage capacity to help when the battery was low. We got her the charger block that we test in store and it worked perfectly.
I was so happy to find New York repair. They offered phenomenal service and really got me out of a bind. They also have typical US/Euro converters and other electronics that are typically needed, and often forgotten, when travelling outside the US. I also say that some people had packages delivered there, so it is also possible that if you need something shipped to you they could help there too. I didn't use them for this but saw others coming into the place picking up packages. read more
