That's right - $750 to let the friends and family of a loved one know that that person has passed away. I don't care how much money they're losing on anything else they do, charging $750 for an obituary is the worst example of a monopoly taking advantage of its desperate and most vulnerable customers. Shame on you you A**HOLES! From now on when I hear about how bad the newspapers have it, how much money they're losing and how poorly their employees are paid, I am going to cheer and know for a fact that YOU DESERVE IT!

I had been getting Sunday delivery for many…read moreyears - they raised their prices some every so often to be expected - But over the last 2 years the prices had become ridiculous and I had cancelled my subscription. I continuously received phone calls - sometimes 2-3 times a day, at all times of the day to re-sign. I told them each time to remove me from their call list but continued to receive calls. Earlier in the year I decided to give them another chance and bought a groupon deal which they refused to offer. I ended up getting a refund from groupon but after many many customer service calls trying to get the D & C to accept it - but they kept saying "Groupon never paid us" - despite calls from groupon to them personally. If you like the coupons and ads like I do - do yourself a favor just look them all up online instead!

Over a week ago I paid for delivery + online access, primarily because my father just moved in with me and he loves to start his day by reading the local paper, with a cup of coffee. Despite the P-T charging my credit card the day I subscribed, we have yet to see a paper copy of the paper delivered. I've now called them 3 times to inquire and they promised to talk to their (3rd party) contractor who is supposed to deliver and call me back to let me know what's going on. but that hasn't happened, either. Congrats to the P-T, which must be the only newspaper in America whose print business isn't dying and who doesn't need new customers!! (yes, that was sarcasm)
