Newbreak is the best! I have been an educator for 23+ years. My four year old son has gone here for almost two years. In this time, our family has been impressed with the level of care, personal attention, and professional expertise from the teachers at Newbreak. They know every single child well and work with them to make sure they feel loved, are learning, and are behaving in ways that are age-appropriate. We receive routine communication from teachers and admin. I love getting photos and videos from the teachers several times per week. Newbreak does fun things like movie nights, art night, and water day for the students. There is a fantastic balance of play and structured learning. From drop off until about 9AM the 3-4 year olds get to play on the playground. the playground has many sensory activities in addition to big wheels, a sandbox, and toys for the kiddos. Around 9AM they take a bathroom break and then go to the classroom for circle time. During circle time they each get a chance to talk and interact with the teacher and other students. 2 Year old teacher (Hannah) is great with kids. The director (Thea) & 4-year old teacher (Kelly) do not create a safe place for kids to learn. I reported that children were bullying my son on multiple occasions (severe bullying), which escalated into them touching him sexually. The school gaslit repeatedly saying they didn't witness anything & so they cant substantiate the claims. But they never brought in someone who knows what to look for to observe, or to hear from us on what we were reporting. The details and scenarios were not something that could be manufactured, and the director acknowledged that the girls who were to blame were ongoing trouble for the teacher & had new babies at home. Which is an important note because they forced my son to do things (or did things to him) that were all related to playing house, breastfeeding, and "making babies". The director told us the teacher struggles to manage her classroom, she tends to act like their friend instead of the teacher, and that she gets wrapped up with one kid and misses what is happening for the rest of the class. (The director's message to us, not ours.) I watched over the play yard fence and saw first hand how these specific girls were physically hurting their peers and the teacher didn't even see because she was in a different area across the yard. My son's body and boundaries were violated multiple times, which we shared with the therapist we now have to see. (He is 4.) The director Thea asked us to let her know if anything else happens.. so when we emailed saying that the girl tried to pull down his pants under the guise of playing house when the teacher was taking another student to the bathroom, THE SCHOOL KICKED US OUT. For reporting. No meeting to hear the details or discuss the circumstances. I am concerned for the wellbeing of the children who are still in the class, as well as the girls who continued to target my son. When I asked the director to make sure nothing was happening to them at home, the director shrugged and said "oh no, i know their families." Again, dismissing a potentially very harmful situation. Update: we have learned through therapy that horrific sexual violence was done to my son while in the care of Newbreak Playschool. (Worse than I was aware of when i posted originally.) Repeated behaviors, not things that happen in a split second, AND that the teacher continued to put my son next to the child who was sexually assaulting my kid during naps, bathroom breaks, and outside play. Even after our therapist told the director they needed to be separated for my son's safety. read more

Edit: to those of you reacting 'funny' to this comment about my child being bullied, you should be ashamed. Not one thing about that is 'funny' I'll pray for you though. Review: Only giving one star because I have to. This place is horrendous. They WILL sweep bullying under the rug and will NOT confront the issue or even bring it to the other families attention. Do not send your children here, especially if you want them to be looked after because they often leave children unattended and will dismiss anything you ask them/tell them about and not even try to resolve the issue. I'm appalled at the demeanor of this place and sad for the children that have to experience neglect at the hands of someone who is supposed to have their best interest at heart. I personally pulled my child out of this place last year and would NEVER send him back even if my life depended on it. Shame on you people. read more

Our three-year-old has been at Newbreak Playschool for about a year now, and we could not be more thrilled with our experience there! The teachers and staff are so warm, loving and kind. He is a bit of a wild child and can be a handful sometimes and they all take it in stride, laughing at his antics and saying how much they love him. All the play at the school is child led, so the kids get to decide which toys/areas they want to play with so each child's individual likes and needs can be nurtured. It's always a tough decision to send your child to daycare or pre-school, knowing they won't be with you all day. I would highly recommend Newbreak to anyone if they are looking for a wonderful, loving environment where you feel comfortable and happy knowing how much fun and love your child is getting each day. read more

This review is long overdue! My daughter Emmy attended Newbreak play school and she absolutely loved it and couldn't wait to go each day. The teachers and staff were sweet and caring. I never worried much about her well being while she was there because I knew she was in great hands. The school is safe, organized, clean, and run efficiently. Emmy learned a lot of amazing things and met a lot of amazing kids. We unfortunately were not able to continue to attend because we moved out of town, but it was such a pleasure being apart of new break Playschool as well as Newbreak Church. I love this school! All of the teachers are amazing and the director Thea truly loves all of the staff and all of the families. Thea is amazing!!! I know my children are safe and are having fun and best of all they are learning all about God's love! My daughter is in Kelly's class and she loves her teacher so much. With so many schools (like my son's previous preschool) operating on a much limited schedule due to COVID-19, we were enticed by Newbreak's 7:30-5:30 schedule and lunch/snacks prepared non-site. However, we did not anticipate having so many issues. Even though they use the Brightwheel app, don't expect updates on the curriculum or progress reports for your child even when requested. The weekly lesson plan was posted outside of his classroom maybe a total of two times in 4 months. If a teacher is out, don't expect the other staff members to step in, an outside agency will be used to supply a substitute without your knowledge. And lastly the deal breaker, be wary that they do NOT have any measures in place to deal with bullying (including biting, hitting, punching, hate speech etc), which my son was subject to on a daily basis for the 4 months he was there. Any concerns raised to our child's teacher were dismissed, the director claimed she was "not aware of" the bullying, although he had several ouchie reports on file that suggested otherwise. We had requested that our son be separated from the problem child on multiple occasions but consistently ignored and the bullying continued. As a result of all of this, we had pulled him out after the most tumultuous 4 months. I was under the assumption our son's situation was isolated but others in his class have come forward with the same or worse experiences. Newbreak Playschool has been wonderful for my 4 year old. He has been attending for over 2 years now. My son loves his time there - loves his friends and teachers. He asks me if he can stay longer so he has more time to play. He comes homes with little pearls of wisdom from his teacher Miss Hannah. Lots of art and hands on activities. Thea has been great at communicating through out the last 2 years which I can only imagine was quite a challenge. they are flexible and so helpful to this working parent. My daughter has attended NB playschool for 2 years. I can't say enough good things about this school and the true love and care that go in each and every day. As someone who has a lot of actual first hand experience (unlike several recent reviewers), I can tell you that my daughter feels happy, safe, and heard, every day at school. We're about to graduate from Newbreak after 2 years there in full-time care. My daughter had Miss Kelly for her teacher for almost our entire time there and she's wonderful, always cheery and kind. My daughter does several after school extra-curricular activities and all the instructors have complimented on how she's such a great listener and a pleasure to teach, and I think her experience at Newbreak is at least partially responsible for that. The teachers really make an effort to teach them the people skills that are so important in life. I've seen instances where children are having a conflict and the teachers will take the time to tell them what wording they can use to work it out. They do tons of creative art projects, the facilities are well-kept, the provided food is great. We've had a great experience. read more

Everyone is so nice. I was worried leaving my child with strangers after being with him daily for 2 years. It turns out that I actually leaving my child with family. I couldn't ask for nicer staff. We have been taking our daughter here for two years, we previously tried another daycare in the area, and Newbreak was the most affordable and the best fit. We are totally satisfied and happy with this place. The staff are VERY caring and great with the kids. Our daughter is so happy going here. Such a great school. I sent my son here due to some issues he had at another in town preschool. They were willing to take him in and give him the extra help and care that he required. They were kind, helpful and just all around wonderful. Their playgrounds are not traditional in that they allow the kids to explore, imagine and create. I saw so much improvement in my sons behavior after just a month or two at Newbreak. Also they are very reasonably priced considering they provide snacks and meals daily. read more

I recently enrolled my 3 year old. It was a very difficult process since my daughter had only been watched by family before Newbreak. They have been so wonderful! There were some tears the first few days but, they were all so kind, caring, and fun. They would even text me photos and updates to let me know she was doing okay. We are now on week 3 and she is loving it! She always is telling me about the activities they do, the songs they sing, and the new friends she is making. They also provide lunch and snack which is a huge help considering my work schedule. We could not be more pleased with this school and would highly recommend to other parents. read more

Today was my grand daughter's first day at Newbreak PlaySchool early childcare center. What an amazing team they have! They were so kind and gentle with my grand daughter allowing her to get used to her surroundings. When I picked her up she was happy and not at all clingy. I enrolled my 2 year old daughter a few months ago and we just love it! Since starting, her vocabulary and communication skills have just skyrocketed. She comes home and sings sweet songs that she's learned. She loves going- which is huge since I never worry that she is missing me or wanting to come home. We just love the teachers and the "play" school philosophy. I'm so glad she is in an environment where the teachers are nurturing, kind, and really love teaching preschool. I feel comfortable having my child there. She has also already learned great social skills and I am thrilled that she is being socialized in this preschool environment. We enrolled my now kindergartener earlier this year and her 2 year old brother started in May. They both love this place- it is like an extended family. Now that my daughter is in kindergarten we drop my son off before walking to school. I was afraid he was going to miss his sister but he just melts into the class with his friends and his activities every morning. My daughter loves to visit and tell her friends about kindergarten and misses them dearly. It's nice to know they are so close by though. The leadership of the school is very dedicated to making this school a nurturing and enriching environment. There is real intention and research behind their play curriculum which I was skeptical of at first but my children have thrived as a result. read more

Our 4 year old daughter began attending just over a year ago, and at the time, was still not potty trained. They reassured us not to worry, that they can even help with the process, AND THEY DID!! Our daughter has blossomed since attending Newbreak Playschool. Her vocabulary has increased, social skills improved, and has a love of learning and taking part in the world around her! We love the extended hours the school provides for working parents and the flexibility they offer. My family has a sometimes complicated juggling act (as I'm sure many families do), and we are so grateful for the childcare services that are offered along with the playschool curriculum. We know our daughter is in a safe and nurturing place, and is learning all at the same time! The teachers and staff have also been so helpful whenever I ask for parenting/child rearing advice, and have offered me a safe place to be vulnerable as a parent. I have had so many questions about raising children; they have been kind, compassionate and very willing to take the time to talk me through my many concerns about being a good parent!
