He…read moregave me the most affordable estimate (out of 5 local estimates) to trim dead branches off of a huge cottonwood tree in our yard. He and his office manager/wife were meticulous in scheduling a date for the work (8-1-16) and called several days in advance to confirm. On the day of the trim Kevin arrived exactly when promised: 7:15am! He worked tirelessly and methodically on our gigantic cottonwood, cutting, and then chipping logs until 2:30pm. When he was finished, he even showed me the chipped wood and asked if I wanted any of it to use as mulch around our yard. My husband and I said we did want the mulched cottonwood as our yard has several spots where it will be useful. Kevin was so friendly and professional. Our tree (which we know we will loose in about 2 more years) is no longer an eye-sore and will continue to shade our home for another 2 years. Our neighbor even came over during our trim and hired Kevin on the spot to do a small trim job in his yard across the street. I am a huge fan of this company and I highly recommend them!!

I was able to get Knight's Finest Tree Service to remove several trees from my rental property in Greeley and trim others. The work took several weeks to complete due to the volume of work in the Greeley area. I was satisfied with the work, I paid even before it was complete with a check through my bank. When it was time to file taxes this year, I found out that I should have gotten a W9 from this buiness becasue the repairs were $1,800 (over $600). This came to light when my accontant began preparing my taxes. I called the business, leaving several messages, which were not returned. I kept calling and finally talked to a person who informed me that they were expecting calls to come in re the W9. They said they would send it. I informed them that this paperwork needed to be filed by Feb. 29th and to send it to my accountant directly. It never happened. I kept calling, leaving messages, and, encountering "mailbox full" for several days in a row. I wold get through, leave messages, but still no results. I wrote a letter, mailed it, and still no results. I printed out a W9, sent it to them with a stamped addressed envelope to my accountant and they still never sent the W9. Finally, on March 1, 2012, I called the IRS and was told that, from now on, DO NOT PAY ANYONE UNLESS THE PROVIDE A W9! This is for rental property only. The also informed me to document everything, which I had been doing, so that if the IRS were to penalize me, I could provide the documentation and they would waive any penalties. This business is unprofessional for not providing the necessary form I needed for my taxes. I suspect, as does my accountant the the IRS, that they are attempting to not pay taxes on refenues they collected as a tree service. This could put me in jeopardy with respect to penalities. I am glad that I documented everything, and, have my accountant to verify that we attempted to get the proper paperwork. Given that I was not aware of the new tax forms with the box to check that I provided the form, it never entered my mind. Apparently, though, this business was aware when they mentioned they were expecting calls the first and only time I was able to speak to someone. I was planning on having this company do more work, but, given that they are not honest, I will chose someone else. The IRS said they would absolutely be able to audit this business, bo at leat there is that. If anyone uses any service that results in an amount over $600 for a rental, require that you get a W9 before payment. Any legitimate, good business will gladly provide this for you. There are a number of tree services in the Greeley area, and, I would search for one other than this one. This experince has completely turned me off insofar as Knight's Finest Tree Service is concerned. Althougth I was able to get them when everyone else was busy in Greeley, I now wonder if there are other issues with them and perhaps that is why I was able to get them. All I have to say is BEWARE!! If you do use this company, HOLD ONTO YOUR PAYMENT UNTIL THE W9 IS IN YOUR HAND! Becasue of this issue, I consider the experience to be a negative one!
