It's a beautiful place in Piru, CA. It's located up on a hill. The drive up to the mansion is secluded and private driveway entrance. Once you arrive, there are large decorative gates. Once you pass the gates, there is plenty of parking to the right and left. A small portion of the parking is paved, but mostly is not (dirt parking). The parking is also on an incline to the mansion. We were there celebrating a friend's wedding. In addition, they (the wedding party) were spending the night at the mansion. Beautiful back yard grounds. There is a swimming pool (was marked off limits), landscape with palm trees and fruits, a flat area for reception, and there was a patio area with outdoor bathrooms. read more

You drive up through these gates that lead you up into the mansion. Guest parking is to the right and left and the driveway is in a dirt parking lot. The mansion has an eerie victorian vibe to it. I came here for a fall wedding to which my besties were getting married. The ceremony took place on a hill in the backyard as you walk up some stairs to get to it. The reception was on the side of the house in a large patio area that had string lights, tables and a bar in the gazebo. Before the ceremony started I was able to walk the halls of this mansion. Lots of stairs everywhere. We had to go up three flights or stairs to get to the bridal suite aka the honeymoon suite that was on its own level, no other rooms up top. It had a seating area, the bedroom a small bathroom and a living room with a small kitchen area and lots of doors that lead you back into the hallway. The second floor was all guest rooms and the bottom floor was the living, dining, kitchen with another room down below. The bridal party stayed the night there as you can rent out the rooms. Every detail was done to perfection and our 200 guests were as delighted as we were with the event. the food was amazing, the staff, spectacular, and the grounds were breathtaking! Crystal, the manager, saw to every detail (even the ones we neglected). Giancarlo, chef extraordinaire, created a culinary masterpiece that left all more than satisfied. But perhaps the best part was spending the entire event weekend in the private 7 bedroom estate with our closet friends. The property manager, Crystal, went above and beyond to work with her supervisor to accommodate our budget, bringing the venue price down from to almost half for a Sunday evening wedding. The chef and mixologist provided an incredibly personalized experience, working with us directly to create a fully customized menu made from scratch - they even accommodated our specific dietary requirements. The mixologist crafted perfect signature cocktails for our event. The property manager was exceptionally helpful throughout the process and even stepped in to help coordinate when our hired coordinator fell short. Newhall Mansion was our DREAM wedding venue. Even through a couple of rescheduling dates on our end during COVID, the mansion was 100% worth the wait. Let's start with staying there. All the rooms are amazing in their own way, and they have all the amenities you need in a great hotel. The mansion is so huge that when everyone got to their rooms, we started to lose track of where people were! On Friday, we hung out in the pool after we arrived, and we hosted a taco cart at the mansion for a casual rehearsal dinner. Guests at the rehearsal were so impressed, and it made things so stress-free to just stay in one location the whole time. The wedding on Saturday went so well. Not having to go anywhere on our day made the day feel very relaxed. The mansion has nonstop locations for lounging and getting ready. The girls got ready upstairs in the bridal suite and the guys got ready in the tavern basement. The mansion is full of so many great spots both inside and outside to take photos, and it was great that parents and others could show up whenever to help out and they had plenty of places to get ready as well. The event was everything we could've dreamed of. For catering, we used the Newhall Mansion catering and we had multiple guests tell us how good the food was. Everyone loved the appetizers, in particular the mini grilled cheese with tomato soup shooters and the chicken and waffles. Family style dinner was awesome, because everyone got tons of food, and we had some of the most well-cooked salmon and steak we've ever had at an event. After the wedding, we hung out in the tavern with our whole wedding party. And the next morning, we made a big breakfast in the kitchen, so out of town family and friends could stop over to say goodbye on their way to the airport. The mansion staff were nothing but friendly, helpful and awesome the whole weekend. They made everything really great. This place was perfect from the moment we walked in, bellied up to the bar and Holly made us the perfect drink based off our vibes. We went through the ringer, having to postpone our wedding date in 2020 because of COVID, so we spent 2 years working with Adam and this venue. They were nothing short of amazing and wonderful. We had our dream wedding in an even more dreamy setting and we couldn't have done it without them. Our guests are still raving about the fabulous weekend. We booked an extra day - checked out Monday instead of Sunday and had a pool party/bbq for our bridal parties. My husband and I were married here in May, 2019 and we could not be happier with our experience. First of all, the venue is spectacularly beautiful and it is so nice to be able to keep your members of the bridal party or immediate family with you at the venue for the whole weekend. Adam is super responsive to emails and calls, so even if you get your pre-wedding jitters/ anxiety and want to get an answer to your questions like YESTERDAY, you never have to wait very long for him to get back to you. He definitely has a ton of experience working with brides, grooms and family. When you book the Newhall Mansion you have the option to hire their chef, Theresa for a rate that is decidedly lower than what you would pay for anybody else of her skill level. If you book your wedding here, do yourself a favor and book Theresa. I did not get around to posting a review for several months and still, after going on 2 years, I still get comments all the time on how amazing the food at my wedding was. At first glance when researching this venue, the price seems a little high, but don't be put off by sticker shock. My best friend was planning her wedding at the same time as me, and fortunately she pointed out that for the price of the venue we got so many other things that would normally be paid for individually (lighting / seating / linens / accommodations / venue for rehearsal dinner / etc.). She was right, I ended up spending below my budget for my wedding and I was not stressed out at all toward the last weeks of planning because Newhall Mansion also includes a coordinator with a booking. One-in-a-life time experience! So many venues are beautiful and provide a great ambiance, but rarely does a venue commit to providing a life-long, weekend long experience. Crystal and team were so kind and accommodating every step of the way. When we first walked onto the groups of Newhall Mansion, we were in love. This venue had so much of what we were searching for (the mountains, different food selection, ability to stay the weekend, etc.). We were worried it was outside of our budget but we talked to Crystal and worked on our individual package to make our dreams come true. We were allowed to come back to the site to continue to work on our vision, and had a tasting sometime before the wedding to work on our menu. The tasting was a sample of different foods but we could select anything we wanted and we did! Our guests LOVED our cocktail hour and dinner choices. Shout out to Giancarlo for the mouth-watering food! It was awesome being at the venue on Friday, having our rehearsal dinner, and overall enjoying the time with friends and family. This created great energy going into the wedding weekend. The venue also has so many amenities for those staying over (Wi-Fi, hair dryers, irons, towels, Keurig coffee machines, ice, etc.). My bed was so comfortable, I'm not sure if I was just exhausted from the daily activities but I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. We've been here recently to attend a wedding. The place is 40 minutes away from LA, if the traffic is good. It's situated in a remote, secluded spot, passing through the small downtown Piru. The actual mansion has a nice history behind it, it's very well maintained and it can also accommodate overnight guests (could be part of the package). If you need to see the venue for a wedding or other event, you need to call ahead, the place isn't always opened. There are nice views of the hills around, the property isn't huge, but it's nice, full of lemon trees and pomegranate trees, with lots of fruit. There's a nice lawn with chairs set up for an outdoor ceremony, near the pomegranate trees, there's a nice pool, an area to have an afternoon cocktail and cute gardens. The wedding we attended was set all outdoors on a nice, balmy October afternoon. So, the place was charming all around with cute string lights hanging above. It could be a bit tricky to find it. You drive for a while on 126 (left on it) and wonder if you missed the right on Center St. You could, it comes all of a sudden, there's a small sign, so pay attention. I wish this place had more restrooms, although the interior is nice, old fashioned, in a fun way, great to start a conversation while waiting in line. To get inside, somebody has to open the gates, we had to wait for that to happen a bit too long at our arrival and at our departure, although in both cases we weren't the first or the last ones coming or leaving. Also, they need to have more lights in their parking lot, we had a hard time finding the lot, finding our car, it was too dark. Horror movies level- too dark, luckily no spooky creatures were around. Other than that, cute, charming place, perfect for a nice event, in a remote setting, surrounded by hills. read more

We had our wedding here a few weeks ago and it completely exceeded our expectations! Obviously, the venue is AMAZING! We got to stay there Friday-Sunday with our family and friends. We had our rehearsal dinner there the night before as well. It was so nice to have everyone there the night before so they would really check out the property. I cannot be more pleased with the Newhall Mansion team and venue! My husband and I got married the first weekend in October and it was B-E-A-UTIFUL! The weather was quite warm during the day and temperate in the evening. Personally, I never felt cold because I was too busy dancing the whole night, but we had pyramid heat lamps that really set the mood and provided heat for the non-dancers. If it weren't for such a beautiful venue and awesome team, I don't think it could have been the best day of my life (which it turned out to be!). The entire team is so friendly, so helpful, and so professional. The only bathroom was small and barely accommodates a wheelchair and there are no bars in it. There are steps and stairs everywhere. To get to the area we had to be in was a steep hill and one needed help wanted or not. It would of been good to be told all of these things. read more

I will gladly recommend the Newhall Mansion, staff and caterers to anyone getting married. They truly want to make your day as special and memorable as possible. They are extremely easy to work with, Adam and Theresa are lovely. Parking, food and venue were outstanding. Our guests couldn't stop talking and complimenting the mansion and all it had to offer. We even had rain the evening of our wedding and had to cut our ceremony short but luckily tented for the reception which was nice although we felt the heaters were misplaced so some guests were burning and some were freezing but this was at no fault to the mansion as they use an outside company for the tent and heater rentals. The Newhall catering and Theresa herself is amazing, the food is delicious and completely customizable how you want. We were with Mac & cheese spoons & chicken & waffles for our apps, salad, steak, salmon and veggies for our entrees. We opted for it to be served family style rather than buffet or plated. Adam, the Newhall Mansion manager, is dedicated to your every need. He's quick to respond to questions and kept the finances simple and easy for all parties sponsoring to understand. Krista, our day of wedding coordinator, was lovely but we had a few issues. We were supposed to meet a month prior however it was seemingly difficult to be able to get ahold of her in the beginning, on arrival for our pre wedding meeting she came prepared with only a blank notebook and didn't know about any of the packages (ie catering and bar) that we had booked through the mansion so it seemed as if she was ill prepared. On some things we wanted a suggestion on where to place what or how things usually go (first time getting married ever so we didn't know how all the fine details worked) and she would respond with "depends on what you want". I feel that a coordinator should be prepared prior to meetings and happy to help make some suggestions when asked. We did receive some small complaints from wedding party about how she responded to some situations on day of. Otherwise, she was great and got my husband and I on time to everything scheduled throughout the evening. Don't trust them!!! Fraud! Some friends put a deposit down before Covid and Newhall Mansion canceled on them twice and now will not give them their money back after two years. This is an update to my previous review in July.... Honestly, I can't possibly say anything bad about this place. It's stunningly beautiful, unique, and has a fairy-tail like magic to it. Our wedding was held here on September 26, 2015 and it was more beautiful and more perfect that I could have ever hoped for. Everything turned out so wonderfully, and our guests loved tha mansion and grounds (I have SO many pictures that family and friends sent me of the mansion!). It truely was a picture perfect day. As far as accomodations go, it can't get better. The beds are super comfortable, and having the enjoyment of my bridal party and their significant others stay with us for the weekend was something that can't be topped. It truely makes the whole experience so much greater having your closest friends and family with you to enjoy some down time between events. My friends were in amazement that they were able to stay here with us over the weekend. And if you think it can't get any better, then there's Adam, the General Manager. What an amazing man. He not only will go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect for you and your guests, but he makes you feel like you are working with one of your best friends; he genuinely cares about the guests and their experiences at the mansion. If we needed anything, Adam was right there to make sure it worked out. He worked seamlessly with our vendors to coordinate pick ups and drop offs, and when we had a little bit of a snafu with a local hotel for some of our guests, he went to bat for us and took control of the situation without me even knowing there was an issue. There's nothing better than good customer service; it can make or break your day...and Adam understands this 100%. The Newhall Mansion has everything a couple could look for in a wedding, beautiful grounds, gorgeous accomodations, hundreds of options for how/where to hold ceremonies, and a manager that can ease almost all your nerves and worries. Great menu if you're in the area! Came here for a wedding and this historic building has the old school charm that adds a nice touch to a wedding or similar event. It's big and has ample parking to accommodate a couple hundred people for a nice event. Really lovely place but the salesmen gave bad attitudes. I called back in August and Adam gave me the worst attitude when I asked about booking April 11th.. saying he had a business to run and it want in his interest to only book one day... its Easter weekend, the one weekend no one wants. So my fiancé convinced me to try again that we would book the whole weekend ($26,000) We called mid September and he gives us an ultimatum about when we could see it and again just a snarky attitude. read more

I got married here 11/05/2016 and it was an amazing experience beginning to end. For starters, the property manager Adam is a dream to work with. He literally answers e-mails within minutes, had answers for all our questions, and was extremely patient dealing with us. He also has a deep love and passion for the house that you can't help but share after talking with him. The venue itself is breathtaking. From the mountain views, the gardens, the pool, the actual mansion, I could go on and on. I really enjoyed that our bridal party was able to stay at the mansion and we were able to make our wedding a 3 day event. We had our rehearsal dinner there, ceremony and reception, and wrap up brunch. For all the brides out there: I challenge you to find a more incredible bridal suite than Newhall has to offer, it's HUGE. My girls and I had a blast getting ready there with plenty of space and natural light to look amazing. The groom's suite is awesome as well. My husband spent the morning watching college football with his groomsmen before our ceremony and even spent a couple hours in the pool relaxing! During our wedding so many of the guests came up to us saying how impressed they were with the venue, and even now a month out people are still complimenting the place. This review is seriously overdue! What can I say, this place exceeded every single one of our expectations. My husband and I fell in love with this property the second we set foot in it. We had the most magical weekend celebrating our love, our family and friends. The staff was courteous, readily available, and kept the whole wedding flowing. I highly recommend using their in house catering and coordinating staff. We had Chelsea and Nika as our wedding coordinators and they both handled everything beautifully- we never felt any hiccups! Nika even helped me carry my dress around, both ladies were fantastic. Crystal the manager was a total boss! The day before our wedding the tent rentals truck got stuck outside (yes it was gone the day before our wedding) but she handled that and all the vendors arrival wonderfully. I'm sure a ton of things can go wrong at weddings but the newhall staff didn't let anything slip by, we never felt any hiccups, trust them! They know what they're doing! I would get RE-married here in a heartbeat, the only thing I would have done differently is stay longer. We miss this venue and the entire wedding process.
