They aren't afraid to dig deep and to get into the topics / issues that other people sometimes shy away from addressing. The diversity, passion, and authenticity within this lovely little church plant in Claremont, CA are what make me love being a part of it. My favorite is the growing vitality in the women's ministry, like the Wine & Theology group, as well as the focus on relational missional living in community & authentic relationships. The church's involvement in serving the city of Claremont, the greater Pomona Valley & the Claremont Colleges is also a clear reflection into the heart of Solid Rock. Another word for pastor is shepherd and I do think Pastor Perry is just that. He cares for his "flock" on a personal level. While we attended and even after, he checked in on us multiple times, was friendly and kind and available. He and his wife hosted a women's event in their home and I really recognized his love for gardening and hospitality! When we had gone in to check on the venue, he was surprised to see us and immediately went to get the kids fruit snacks. He welcomed us in and I was reminded what a privilege that UBIC has him as their pastor! He teaches from Gods word and loves Gods people. We currently attend another church but I can truly vouch for the leadership and love of both pastors Perry and Daniel for their people!

Pastor Sam has a way of teaching that is both forward-thinking and practical. The people are active - serving locally, serving internationally, serving one another. There is a very real sense that you can come as you are - with your past, your doubts, your questions, your baggage - and you will find you are not alone. The folks here are not judgey.
