I love this church! I have been a part of this community for almost two years and it keeps on getting better! After a few months of attending, I started in their Encounter School of Discipleship. I was in a difficult place in my walk with the Lord, so this school was a Godsend. This church has loved me back to life and continues to deepen my walk with Christ. I admire this church for a few reasons. First, the leadership is committed to living an authentic life. They are devoted to emotional health, which is a treasure these days, and they will walk with you through your darkest days. Secondly, they are committed to the presence of God. As we continue to seek Him, He continues to reveal himself in tangible ways! I am grateful for a church that allows the Holy Spirit to move. I went for their first service which is 9:00am for the first time. I was welcomed by people involving. First 25 minutes of the service is worship music then until the time I had to leave for work which took 15 minutes is pastor asking if anyone is deaf and blind and would like hands on them to pray and heal. Guessing this is a Pentecostal church which isn't my home church denomination (I did go there before). I don't know if he does the message from the Bible which I was told from NIV. One night, Pastor Craig asked me to provide security while the New Life food bank was being built. During that time, I encountered a transient who pulled a knife on me. The police were called, and the incident was officially reported. Instead of receiving support after serving the church, I was later told that I was the liability. As time went on, I began asking respectful questions about financial decisions and leadership choices. Rather than feeling that my concerns were welcomed, I felt they created tension. When I returned on Good Friday, I was asked to leave by a church member named Tiago. That experience was deeply painful after years of faithfully serving. My purpose in sharing this review is not to discourage anyone from seeking God. I believe Jesus Christ loves His people, and the Church ultimately belongs to Him--not to any individual leader. If you decide to visit, I encourage you to seek Christ first, study the Scriptures for yourself, and prayerfully evaluate your own experience. Business is business, that is how the saying goes, right? The Foursquare Ministries have been opening and closing church buildings since the ministries' very beginning. This is the business end of it. After all, The Foursquare Ministries is a huge organization and buildings come and go as congregations need them. Newlife has been operating amazingly great with their financial system. You can tell right away as soon as you enter the doors of their building. Soul saving is great! I'm happy to see so many young people helping and praying for those who need prayer. You walk into their building and you feel comfortable, people will greet you and smile at you. You'll find clean restrooms and comfortable chairs. It doesn't matter what your age is, there is a place for you there. So, in fewer words, It is a good place to gather. Why I gave it a 3 star and not a 5 star? Because of one simple thing. Newlife managed to close the sister church on 480 W Monterey Ave, Pomona, CA because the building was just too expensive to maintain. The people congregating there were not bringing enough money in to pay for all expenses. So, without fair notice to the congregation, they fired the local pastors and told the congregation that there will no longer be services in that building. They called it a financial mismanagement from the local pastor. That's fine, but no notice of this to the congregation? Even people paying rent for a house or apartment get a 30 day notice, but not a church congregation? There is a lot of details to this, but the bottom line is this. Business is business and it is what it is. Hey, next time a church sees it's self in a financial struggle, bring the congregation together and talk about a solution. But please don't shut it down without fair notice. If the building is needed for other purposes? Then that should be brought up as well. Semper "I" read more

I appreciate the fact that this church has reached out to me about the review and opened my eyes on what occurred. The vibe I had gotten about their views of homosexuality were misguided and I apologize for the misunderstanding. They even went as far as to admit their financial issues and provided me with a means to learn more about them. My husband and I are new comers at New Life, when we first came in the door 5mos ago it was like coming home. We felt the annointing immediately. We were greeted and instructed on all the programs available, met the Pastor Zamar and Pastor Craig in our first visits, were even invited to a VIP lunch for first comers.
