St Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church - St. Charles Carnival

Confused, it took me a minute to realize that I had such a great time at the carnival. My friend, her kid-nephew and I rode on the rides that made us laugh so hard we almost peed our pants. I admit, my standards were low when I sought out going but $20 for all rides (special for that night) and a BBQ on a stick ($3.50) made my night. As far as that latex hand-stamp, well that's just not coming off! Additionally, there are panzarottis, funnel cake, burgers, pizza and water ice. For kids there is face painting, games and sand art. Bathrooms are located in the church so (thank god!) no portapots. An ATM is located on-site and there is plenty of security/police staff.

I was fond of the choir's presence at the 11 AM Sunday Mass. I am accustomed to so many area churches hiding their choir in a loft, and burying their noses in their books, but this parish is quite engaging and participatory.

He went to little friends 26 years ago so how comforted were we to know that even 26 years later a teacher could remember a student and blurt out his name without putting much thought into it! I have nothing but praise for the school. It's a coOp so tuition is kept at a reasonable affordable price so long as there's parent involvement when it's neeeded, which is usually once a month. The schools clean, the playground is maintained and the toys and activities are routinely moved in and out to in order to keep the kids entertained. I can't imagine sending my children to another school. We love it and the teachers as well!

They still are best friends with the kids they met at LF and my dearest friends are moms and the teacher who I met when they were there. When I found out I was pregnant, I was beyond excited to send another child there... she will start in the fall! Little friends is a cozy one room school with a teacher who loves these children. The kids have fun learning, playing, crafting and going on field trips! Parents/grandparents are asked to help out on an average of once a month which is fun for all. I can't say enough about this school!!

WooHooooo! As good as it gets:…read more I moved recently to Brooklyn but wanted to share how Over The Rainbow was my Fairy Godmother for many years. Whenever I would drop off my child, my intuition always knew that he was in great hands. The Director, Leslie Schubert, is precise in ensuring that all the staff are expertly trained and moreover, she hires staff that not only enjoy, but even love their job teaching and nurturing all the children. My son is now in a screened public school in New York City as of a few weeks ago but I wanted to share my positive experience as a way to say "Thank You" for all the love and support. OTR is a safe and happy place and the bonus, is all the learning and creativity that takes place. As a single Mom, knowing Over The Rainbow had my back by being a consistent resource in both my and my son's life, took so much of the pressure off of my shoulders. I am a research loon, and after comparing prices and discovering all the extra bells and whistles offered at Over The Rainbow, I chose this as his home-away-from-home. He had made so many friends and hand picking this daycare was a no-brainer! Do your research and follow your instincts. It's what I did and we couldn't have been happier or more satisfied. My son misses his pals but I'm thankful that, because he attended Over The Rainbow, he had an advantage over some of the other kids because he went into his new school with confidence, an open heart and earnestness to connect with his new friends and teachers. I will forever be grateful. Thank You Miss Leslie and all the other teachers who came through for us.
