The café sells both all day breakfast and lunch options. The breakfast menu has granola or chia seed pudding, Arabian eggs, Avocado goats cheese and breakfast plates. We chose the chard corn fritters which are really fluffy fritters that are almost the consistency of a pancake topped with greens, yoghurt, lemon vinaigrette and fresh herbs. We really liked these, though think the dish would be even better with some sort of chutney or similar for flavour. We decided to also sample their lunch menu and it was a tough choice between the chicken curry or slow cooked beef. We went for the Moroccan beef which was a beautifully cooked slow cooked with a rich sauce, and this casserole type dish included pearl barley, pumpkin, currants, perppercorn and yoghurt. It's a touch pretentious with its faux exposed walls, but it's a welcome change from the flash cafes that were all the rage a couple years ago. I can appreciate the college coffee shop feel to it. The food is pretty good, too. The rolls, savory pies and salads are generally good, and I've had their food both in and take away. I understand that a lot of the food is actually not made by the kitchen itself, but given its small size, I'm not surprised nor put out. For me, the failing surprisingly comes in the coffee. I have found it extremely hit and miss. Sometimes, it is superb: right temperature, proper consistency, rich flavor, etc. In short, everything you could ask for. But at other times, it falls short: the temperature is way off (way too hot or way too cold), the taste is too bitter, flavor too weak, etc. After several months of getting a coffee almost every week day on my way to work, I finally gave up expecting a consistently decent cuppa. So as a nice little tuck shop to get a bite, I don't mind Bus Stop. As a place to get a stellar caps, lattes or espressos, I go to other Clovelly/Randwick establishments.

From what I gathered, at least when I was there, that this place was actually rather new, but I suspect that due to the time between when I visited it and when I have actually got around to reviewing it, this aspect of it has changed a little. Okay, it isn't the easiest place to get to, but this is one of those little cafes where you can just stop in for a quick coffee (or tea). The staff are really friendly, and the prices petty reasonable as well. Certainly worth checking out.
