The good: The community itself is genuinely one of the highlights. They host monthly events, and I've met a lot of friendly and respectful residents. The dog-wash station is super convenient, and as a dog owner I appreciated having that available. The grounds are usually kept in decent shape, and communication from the office was generally timely. Maintenance was also consistent in notifying us about any upcoming work, and they always followed through. Also, the cleaning staff deserves a special mention -- they're always kind and do a great job. The area itself is convenient, with the outlets, gym, and gas stations all within walking distance. The not-so-great: The biggest issue during our time here was the constant construction. It's been going on year-round, and early-morning noise has made it almost impossible to sleep in after long work weeks. Parking has been another ongoing struggle due to heavy machinery taking up multiple spots for months at a time. Even though the complex requires DNA swabs for dogs to help with cleanup accountability, there's still a surprising amount of dog waste left around the buildings. As pet owners, it's frustrating and concerning. Door-to-door salespeople also find their way into the building pretty regularly despite the controlled access. We've had multiple people knock on our door trying to sell internet or other services. Safety-wise, I generally feel comfortable walking my dog at night, though there is a homeless encampment in the woods behind the property. It hasn't caused issues for us, but it's worth mentioning for awareness. Final thoughts: Parking: rough. Noise: moderate to high due mainly to continuous construction. Maintenance: solid. Pool/amenities: good. Community: great. Dog waste: an ongoing problem with no real solution in place. Area: convenient, especially for military or anyone who's away from home often and doesn't mind the basics. Not a bad place by any means, but definitely has some things to weigh depending on your lifestyle. P.S. One thing I do want to note: when we moved in, we were told the apartment was "ready," but there were still fleas present. We were told the unit had been cleaned and were initially told it might have come from our dog, but she hadn't been itching at all before moving in. Our move-in date had already been pushed back a week, so it was frustrating to walk into an issue like that. We ended up spending our own money on treatment for our dog and on additional cleaning supplies both before and after the flea bomb was done. Management did place us in the Airbnb-style unit on the same floor during the process, which we appreciated, but ideally this shouldn't have been something we had to deal with during move-in.

Staff: I absolutely loved the staff, each of them are super pleasant, especially Jess. The maintenance crew are ON TOP OF IT! I've never had a better maintenance crew. Aesthetics: My apartment wasn't one with new appliances, but I loved it all the same. I had a lake view that inserted unexpected peace in my life. The apartment was big enough for me & my things & rent pricing is fantastic for the quality (I moved here from DC). Never had pests in my home. Never had trouble parking, as there's plenty of spaces. I'm an Amazon girl & my packages were always left on my balcony, never stolen. Neighborhood: The neighborhood is super quiet & peaceful. The only sounds I heard were ducks and dogs sporadically. Lots of wildlife at times (bugs, ducks, cats, squirrels, even frogs when it rains). The walls are pretty thin. Luckily, I had neighbors who would play music that I could feel but not hear (if that makes sense). They weren't obnoxious when I did hear them. My neighbors all seem to be military personnel. Only disappointments I had was that some neighbors didn't pickup after their dogs & if you don't purchase a parking spot, your car will be covered in pollen. But that is minor compared to the pros. Location: The location was the deciding factor to me. There are sooo many places to eat, shop, nearby walking trails, and beaches. Close enough to Hampton/Norfolk, but far enough from traffic. I could walk to the airport if I wanted to. School buses pick children up at the front of the complex as well, which I thought seemed cool. I'm going to miss this place. I'm definitely sticking with this company for future accommodations.

I…read morewent right back to the rental office to let know of so many issues that I had on the day I moved in. The most important being that my front door is closing properly and still has not been fixed shortly after I have put in multiple request that something was wrong with my AC unit and now over two months later it's not working at all and leaking into my downstairs neighbors apartment. Maintenance came when I was at work for the first time since the week I moved in said the floors wasn't wet and never came back. When I finally get home from work I discover that the floor under my unit is indeed wet and the problem could have been avoided if someone would have come out months before to check it out. The rental team never answers the phone or the text line they have and the doors are locked and closed half time. I've been to the rental office over 10 times missed work just to catch the office open and I'm still sitting in an apartment with no blinds no ac and a front door that does not lock properly. I have not felt safe or comfortable since the night I've moved in.
