I used to pooh pooh chiropractors until I saw him. The very first time I saw him for back pain, he encouraged me to get an x-ray so that he could see which parts of my spine needed his work. He was spot on in his diagnosis (pre-x-ray) and I got well shortly thereafter. I see him now for knee pain and he is just as good as it gets. He has cutting edge equipment in his office (I see him in East Greenwich, but you can also see him at his newly opened office in downtown Providence) and his staff never fails to be friendly and nice. So having said how great he is at what he does, I feel compelled to add that he is also a fine man, with lots of integrity, a terrific and low-key personality, ie, if you are a talker (like moi) he can converse, with a great deal of knowledge, on virtually any topic; ( I suppose if you are not a talker he will remain on the quiet side - of course, I don't know because I am always talking!) He is always calm, and inspires confidence. There is never a rush in his office - he is not like that. He allows you to take your time, and always wants to know how you're feeling when you come in - what hurts, and where it hurts and how you feel when you leave. He also explains exactly what he is doing. He also has calming Pandora Radio playing in every room, and asks you what typeof music you'd like to hear. He is kind, funny, intelligent, very calm (I said that already, but it's so important to me that he is!) and a terrific chiropractor - he is a credit to his profession. He also attends educational sessions in his field on a regular basis to stay on top of his game. He recently opened an additional office in Providence (downtown in the Regency - I think) and I could not recommend anyone more highly than I do Dr. Mark Breiding. The table was heated + there was a heating lamp on my tootsies. So awesome. I love being warm. Especially when it is 27 degrees out today! I received Acupuncture + Moxibustion treatments. For me this was the first time to have treatments on the back side of my body. It was a whole body experience. Very calming + relaxing. Stephanie is not only the nicest person ever she truly pays attention to your needs. I was incredibly comfortable with her + she was very careful with me explaining the procedures and answering my questions. I felt a significant difference when I left the clinic and plan on going back often. New energy indeed. Make sure to drink plenty of water afterwards! He had the cure, kids - him and his magic needles. For some, acupuncture is a scary thought. Not for me. I totally believe in its powers and I totally believe it got me well. Mixed with herbal supplements and plenty of rest, Acupuncture got rid of my horrible pneumonia and all the gloriousness that goes along with it. I called Dr. Mark at the hight of my illness. I sounded so horrible on the phone, the man took pity on me and scheduled a time to see me that day, which was his day off! We spent a few hours together, discussing my symptoms, what I had done prior to seeing him, and my life in general. He was calm and kind and reassuring. I was totally comfortable. He then did some cupping, which I had never done before but was quite intrigued by. It wasn't nearly as painful as I had predicted, and I loved the way the heated cups felt like they were pulling every toxin from my ailing body. Then we got to the acupuncture. Now, I will tell you in all honesty it isn't painless - there are a few areas (on my body, at least) that are very sensitive and you can feel the energy coursing through your body when he inserts those pins, man. Thankfully, he's very chatty and explains everything which is such a comfort to inquiring minds like my own. Within a few hours, I felt better. Within a few days, I felt much better. I went back a week later, we did more treatments and continued with the herbs and rest and now I am like a new woman. Acupuncture also helps with stress, insomnia and digestion. And cramps.
