I had only gotten acupuncture once before coming here, but I've been here a handful of times now and I always leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. I'll describe the experience thoroughly for anyone who might be interested in trying it out but not sure what to expect! It's easiest to make an appointment over the phone, but I suppose you could walk in too! You can chose what you pay from $20-40. When you walk in, you check in and pay at the front desk and either wait in the waiting area or usually head straight back to the treatment area. There are two rooms with lots of reclining chairs, kind of set up like a dialysis clinic. You can pick a chair, make yourself comfortable, and take off your shoes and socks. There is plenty of signage all over the place so it's really easy to figure out what to do. The acupuncturist will come over when they have a free moment. They'll ask you a few questions about what is bothering you (if anything) and then place about 12-15 very thin needles at various locations on your body. You may need to roll up your sleeves and pant legs so I would wear loose clothing--you want to be comfortable anyway! After the needles are placed it's up to you how long you want to hang out. Most people stay around 45 minutes to 1 hour. A lot of people will fall asleep or shut their eyes. There's really no rules (as long as you put your phone away)! When you're all done, you can get the acupuncturist's attention and they'll take the needles out for you. Overall, the atmosphere at PCA is the perfect balance of relaxing and casual yet 100% professional. I highly recommend PCA to anyone who is interested in trying out acupuncture at an unbeatable price!

My daily pain is almost gone now. I don't have to see an orthopedic doctor, and I don't have to get an epidural shot. I no longer take muscle relaxers or 800 mg. of precipitation strength Motrin. After one or two more visits, I will see Dr. Belanger for a maintenance adjustment. I've been singing the praises of this chiropractor to a number of locals, and I will continue to do so. He has helped me tremendously. Walking and climbing stairs are no longer an issue for me. Dr. Belanger's receptionist was also able to fit me in the very day that I called. Dr. Liu is gentle and explains where he's placing the needles as he goes. Part of acupuncture treatment includes the doctor leaving the office after the needles are placed for about fifteen minutes. His office accepts insurance coverage so worth checking out if your plan covers it. Holding back a star because it's tough to schedule appointments during the week. Not even: What are you doing for me today and how is it going? He says that's doubting him. Then he will use up most of your limited time talking about himself or doing a rant on Dr. Fauci. The next patient comes down right after you do and sits outside the door watching and hearing you. This is as unsettling as it is a blatant HIPAA violation. The worst part is I checked his entire testimonial of himself because I had sensed that something was off when I saw him with a toddler. He is listed as a pediatric and extremities chiropractor. So his practice is kids and anything non-spine like wrists, knees, and shoulders. I figured someone like him would brag about UC credentials if he had them. When confronted, he reluctantly admitted to me that he is not a UC Chiropractor as getting certified was too hard. But he claims he is one. It's all over his website. Quite unethical and potentially harmful to the patient. This should not be allowed. As for me: Long drive, visit of mere minutes, no meaningful adjustment, no dialogue, no kindness, no expertise in evidence. I cut my losses and sadly looked elsewhere for help. I would venture a guess that he did not answer my simple questions because he did not know the answers. Stay away if you have a serious problem with your neck. There is no upper cervical help here. He wasted my time getting pain relief from a serious neck misalignment. After reading his reply, I must say I stand 100% by what I wrote. He is very taken with himself. The three rants he angrily did on Dr. Fauci bothered me and I told him that. No joke there. But I'm not going to pick The reply apart piece by piece, but it is quite inaccurate.
