I got a tow from Newport towing this weekend. Ryan was my tow truck driver. He was fantastic. Great conversationalist, communicative, called me prior to arrival, and was clearly knowledge about how to handle the situation. The arrival was timely, despite my being out of the way, and the service was very reasonably-priced for what I got. If you need a tow near Newport, call these guys, and cross your fingers that you get Ryan! As a side note, Ryan if you end up seeing this, it did end up being the battery! The absolute ridiculous amount they charge, and that normally wouldn't be a big issue but than you also consider that they don't let you get a different towing company involved because when i had crashed i ask them if i could get a different towing company because i have no trust in them whatsoever. Newport towing told me no, and this because of no competition they just do what they want they don't care about the customers they just care about the money. We hired Newport Towing to move our motorhome to a mechanic's shop in Spokane. The first day they came out with too small of a truck and weren't able to tow us. They got paid from our AAA for that trip. We hired them again the next day at $400/hr. It took him 1 hr to drive from Newport to Diamond Lake - about a 15 minute drive. Also, he was on the phone several times which cost us $100 for every 15 min. The driver did do a good job towing and being careful. He was polite and professional. Their prices are better than Evergreen and they are one of the only companies we could find to tow a motorhome. In conclusion, I think they do a good job but seem to be milking the hourly pay to an extent. Mary Miller read more

Brian, driver of tow truck trespassed on my property with his tow truck. Brian was towing someone else's SUV. He damaged my driveway and decorative rocks. His extremely poor driving skills caused him to wreck into my yard. When confronted, Brian called me a jerk and drove away. He made no offer to repair, no apology, no acceptance of responsibility. Manager Chauncey returned my call and denied any resposibility or offer for repair. He stated Brian should have called me a jerk and hung up on me mid sentence. This is reprehensible behaviour shown to a private citizen with no previous contact with this company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! COMPAINT FILED WITH BBB! read more

I was stood up by 3 other towing companies that my insurance set up. I asked them to call Newport towing. My journey began at 1 in the afternoon and ended after 1 in the morning. Even though it was after 11pm when I called because of all the other no shows they followed through and came to a remote location to assist me with a smile. Zach, the tow operator then followed me into town and waited to make sure my vehicle would start again after I had shut the engine off, which thankfully it did. I will not even bother trying to use another tow company again because the service was top notch with Newport. We need more Zachs' in the world. read more

These guys have a monopoly and use that to overcharge people. It's one of the ugliest displays of pigs at a trough I've ever seen. Add to that this guy is shady even with the authorities and you've got an outfit that should be shut down. Here's my story - I agreed to a price to pull my son's car out of the ditch. Had cash in hand. He wanted to charge me more (and actually did) when I requested a receipt. Why you ask? He said he had to charge me tax if he wrote a receipt. So, I'm left with the knowledge these guys are defrauding the state (read you and me here also) out of untold tax revenue. Someone needs to investigate these shady people. read more

Extremely disappointed with NEWPORT Towing, not only was I over charged per hour according to state laws, I was charged 5 hours of service for Newport towing helping me for 2 and a half. To top it all off extreme damage was caused to my vehicle. read more

Newport Towing has a contract with WSP for accidents in the area. Be prepared for them to tow and impound your vehicle without cause or permission if you are in an accident, regardless of fault. Heaven forbid you are grief stricken at the scene or in the ICU trying to make end of life decisions for a day or two before trying to locate your missing vehicle. So now on top of paying hospital bills and funeral costs you can tack a $700 bill to get your vehicle out of impound!! It is a complete money making racket. When the owner quoted one price and it had increased $25 by the time we drove out a couple of hours later, the owner, John Jackson, admitted he could choose to honor the quoted price, but it was his prerogative not to and to raise the price and he said didn't care if he was a jerk about it. Ok so I was a bystander in an exchange today and I was sadly disappointed in the professionalism of Newport towing. My cousin put his rig in the ditch and had to get towed out, his dad had a prior bad experience with them failing to bill and overcharging and was commenting to that effect while his son was saying I don't understand why it will cost as much with you as for a company from Spokane to do it when they are 30 more miles away. John lost his shit... Started yelling well I can just leave and you can do whatever... Started berating and told him here's a thought learn to drive and don't go in the ditch. Stuck in Newport as an out of towner on the weekend with my elderly parents and husband across the state. I had just bought an older RV and it was a bust. I had to call Newport Towing twice in a day for help. John was so great. Not only did he come to my rescue both times but he found a mechanic for me and took me straight to him. Way above and beyond the call of duty, he even called later to make sure that we were ok and got the help we needed. Can't say enough good things about this company, but I am so grateful I called them. read more
