We own a boat and slip at Frenchman's Bay Marina, which is managed by this condominium management. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremly unpleasant. The staff's behavior has been very authoritarian and unprofessional, making it difficult to communicate with them and resolve issues respectfully. She deactivated our own fobs because we had guests staying on our boat and she refused to reactivate them again deanying us acces to our own boat and slip. read more

I can't recommend this management company. The person who manages our property has major issues. His name is Jon T. He's got a big chip on his shoulder and he is very difficult to deal with. I can never understand what he says, his English is really bad and he has a strong accent. He has never helped us when we asked for assistance. As per my complaint, dated 20 Oct. I approached the president of NTPM who indicates he will talk with the party involved. Unfortunately enough this is a typical reply from Colin. Other complaints to him about the same person resulted in the same outcome. "Nothing" I do understand, the concept of giving people a second chance but how many more chances is it going to take for Colin to open his eyes. This management group is an absolute joke. The few times a year they send any correspondence, it's either to inform us of another maintenance fee hike, or a newsletter telling us all the rules that need to be followed, yet are never enforced in the first place. For example, management telling residents not to park in visitors parking, or they'll be towed. In 10 years I've never seen the parking lots monitored, and residents continue to take up all the visitors spots, especially the handicap spot which is for visitors only, yet residents are always in it, but they're monitoring it. Lol. If you visit their site you'll see the testimonials are great. How they helped a family who was having trouble paying their maintenance fees, management was so understanding and really helped them out, yet I've heard multiple stories of owners having a lien put on their houses if they missed payments. Here's another gem from their website which states that 'Comprehensive Spring and Fall inspections, and regular weekly site assessments' are done. Lol. The complex has been very dark due to the lack of lighting for a long time, but just recently was taken care of. These are just of few of their BS lies. Avoid if at all possible. read more

I am on the BoD of my condo property. A number of years ago we retained the services of Newton Trelawney to manage it. Although I have seen numerous negative reviews about this company, I would suggest that the writers of these reviews have no idea of the job NTPM is contracted to do. Their job is to oversee all aspects of property management. They do not do the work themselves, but contract and oversee the work of other companies (parking patrols, gardeners, snow removal, etc.) Our BoD has been very happy with the quality of the management by NTPM. Concerns or complaints are handled expeditiously and professionally. Our property manager is well-versed in the Ontario Condominium Act and all aspects of building maintenance. She attends our condo at least once per week and is always on site when a contractor is doing repairs. Just so you know, property management companies DO NOT set condo fees. These are a result of the budget that is set by the BoD. They are also NOT superintendents like you might have at a rental property. You own the home you live in and are responsible for repairs. Because many people do not understand how condominiums are governed and managed they do not understand the role of the property management company. I have worked with Newton Trelawney for over six years and I would not hesitate to give them five stars for professionalism, experience and cooperation doing the job they were contracted to do. read more

Worst. Put in two requests - One regarding gutters and one regarding the roof. Two months have gone by and nothing. They don't communicate at all. Our roadways are a complete mess. AVOID THIS COMPANY IF POSSIBLE! They took over the management for my condo corp. They are crooks! I pay monthly fees and we are not even allowed to utilize amenities like guest parking without getting ticketed close to $100. They put up signs saying you must register guest cars but provide 0 instruction on how to do so. We were never given notice! We were never even told they took over management - which you think would be common courtesy? We have dozens of UNUSED, EMPTY parking spots because no residents know how to contact them and register their guests. A waste of space!!!! Every resident's guests that have been over had been ticketed. If I pay them each month for services such as parking, I am ENTITLED to use such services!!!! STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM. Our pool and shared facilities have not been reopened, in spite of the go ahead from government (re:covid). Nor have our maintenance fees been cut since we are not able to use what we are paid for. We are told they will not be reopening this year and that it is "not in the budget" to have someone maintain the facilities. Then where is our money going? Will it be lowered next year to balance out the overpayment this year? read more

AWFUL.. after A mistake I did make re booking an elevator there was no room for helping me out! instead this lady was chatting up with a service worker and one other lady who felt she had an input as well. I called the head office for 6 days straight, on call backs I finally got a hold of Wendy Right who informed me that they owner was in a meeting and was expecting my call.NOT THE CASE, he needs to re adjust his HORRIBLE speaking skills. TERRIBLE no accountability, no integrity, rude. 3050 Ellesmere Rd. They've been there for a few years now. We've had bad luck with property management, and it just seems to continue. The very, very rude on-site manager threatened to call the police on my 72 year old mother (who is under 5 ft tall). Then, when we tried to follow up with her boss and the president by phone and in writing, we were met with utter silence. Repairs are slower than before. Elevator repairs and even slower, and breakdowns more frequent. Repair sites are left half-finished for months. AWFUL people and awful service. read more

Was in the market to buy one of the new condo's going up in Bowmanville, brand new condominium, until I made inquiries about who the property management company was going to be. When I found out Newton Trelawney had gotten the contract, first I was disappointed for myself because I had so wanted to invest in one of these condo's and live in one in my early retirement years, and it is nice and close to my family. However; that dream was quashed when I found out NT was going to do the property management at this condo. I wouldn't get within a mile of this place now. From past personal experience with this company at a condo in Whitby where I lived for a few years, I found out not only what disgusting property managers they are, but truly disgusting, horrible, rude individuals to deal with at this company, from the person who calls herself the "regional property manager" to the in house property managers who are assigned and never stay long, to the company president. The seniors in this building were particularly verbally abused, lied to and ignored when they had an issue. They would eventually have to give up on ever getting help for something and seek help elsewhere. The hire the worst contractors when they do allow work to be done and somehow are allowed to get away with this. They shouldn't even be in business, let alone being given a contract for a brand new condo complex that will soon one of the least favourable placed to live because of the property management company that was hired. Terrible property manager on an extreme power trip. Does not follow up with valid complaints (exposed roof after shingles blown off during storm). Extremely poor communication. Make sure you check who the property owners are before you buy. Will be working with the condo board to have his company removed. read more
