We mistakenly paid him before ALL the work was done when he gave us a sob story about how one of his employees (that my NEIGHBORS heard him screaming and cursing at and fired on the spot) messed up the siding and he needed to order more (a 2 week delay) and he REALLY needed the check. We felt bad so we paid him. That was about 6 weeks ago. He always has some life crisis that prevents him doing the job. The work is sub par as there were many nails missed on our deck that we had to point out, screws left sticking out, bags of nails and metal shards and cigarette butts left ALL over our lawn. There's even missing caulk on the end cap of a gutter that was mentioned weeks ago. He didn't listen very well when I explained (with pictures) how I wanted the trim so it had to be fixed. He was not happy and insisted I was wrong and he did what I told him to do. I can assure you I did not agree to a white stripe going around my house. There are also wires and cables left all around my house that JDL removed from the old siding that haven't been put back along with clips that hold the electrical box to my house. I just want my house finished. JDL Construction is not trustworthy, not attentive and and left my house an unfinished mess.

I had called a few other roofers in the area during that time but found that these folks not only had the best price, but also offered the best brand of roofing materials. The owner also made some recommendations to help prevent problems down the road that none of the others had. The crew was so professional and did an excellent job. Clean up afterwards was like they were never there. It's been 4 years since the install, and I have no complaints whatsoever - and so happy with the selection (I was struggling with that, so the office manager came over and she helped me pick just the right one!). I ordered a second load, they delivered promptly, and when I went to burn up all of it is completely green. I was assured that this was seasoned wood. I called and left a message explaining the problem. I said that I don't want my money back but could we make arrangements to have some sort of Better wood delivered or to do something about this. It is completely unusable. It literally just steams and goes out even with a good base fire started. We were depending on the supplemental heat as the winter is so cold. I never received a call back, or anything and I'm a repeat customer. So buyer beware, it doesn't matter if you're a repeat customer or a new customer. This seems typical for a lot of businesses in this area, and they wonder why they don't last.
