About me! I'm a combat wounded veteran Xs3 with extensive surgerical history which has left me with medical issues. I had been seen by a few less than professional podiatrists before being referred to Barret Medical and Hièdi Ritter DPM by one of my frogman brothers! The V.A. has no podiatrists which leaves us at a serious disadvantage. Doc Hiedi,the awesome Medtechs and my superior nail technician were given a serious challenge with the condition of my feet which the team met head on which was no easy task. Again I had seen 4 others with no results. That was 7 years ago and today is a testament of their professionalism. The punishing extreme environents my feet have been through had me thinking I would never heal. I ceased taking pain meds 4 years ago due to the relief and care I have received. Nothing but positive things to say for Dr. Broome and his team at San Antonio Orthopaedic Specialists. I recently had knee surgery and I'm so glad I was referred to Dr. Broome. From the very beginning of setting up the appointment to after surgery and checking in, I am so impressed. At first glance, you can tell how beautiful their new space is and the care they took to make it welcoming. His staff is considerate of your time and took me back fairly quickly. I did not have to wait for more than 5-10 minutes after arriving each time. Dr. Broome takes his time on your first consultation to get to the root of what is bothering you, and why you are looking into having surgery. We discussed the different scenarios of what might happen, as we looked at each MRI image that was taken. His assistant will come in to discuss privately the payment options available, as well as who to call about insurance coverage. His staff also make sure everything is in order, even calling to remind you and go over the game plan the day before surgery. After surgery he made a curtesy call to make sure all was well, and to see if I had any questions or concerns. Overall, I am so impressed with the amount of communication and friendliness of this office. You can really tell Dr. Broome and his staff care about his patients and the overall well being of life after surgery. Not to mention, you can barely tell I had knee surgery, as the incisions healed beautifully!

At discharge nurse dismissed my father's breathing difficulties, wheezing and fast breathing. Pushed him into wheelchair despite my concern for his respiratory status. Was rushing to get him out because "she was getting another patient", gave incomplete and incorrect post op teaching where my mother didn't know what to do. When asked about an ice machine for recovery said "well I'll sell ya one for $200". Then provided no education, said there is a pamphlet that shows you what to do because she was rushing him out. Then did not verify post op medication discrepancy with surgeon which led to father missing dose of pain medication at home. Father was a number and nothing more. As a 22yr ortho/surgical nurse I would suggest going elsewhere. Will not allow anyone with patient while they are being preoped which can lead to mistakes in medical history, and caregivers being unaware of what they need to do. As well as cause anxiety for patient and family.

If you need medical attention for your feet, look elsewhere.

Prior to shadowing him, I had heard that he was a brilliant doctor but it really wasn't until I started shadowing him that I got to know just how good he really is. This man oozes professionalism. His demeanor when dealing with customers is very welcoming, patient and comforting. I know that patients coming to see a doctor want to be treated with importance and be confident that they are really getting the best care. That is the feeling I got when I saw his patients interacting with him. I've seen him correct the mistakes other surgeons have made with his patients. I've seen him go head first and without hesitation clean the feet of an elder gentleman with advanced diabetes when he could have had one of his nurses do it for him. In the past, I have come across and heard of many doctors who look dissatisfied with their job and desensitized to the plight of their patients but Dr. Sayeed restored my faith in doctors and replenished my desire to enter the medical field. This man very clearly loves his job and he gave me the perfect example of how I need to deal with my patients once I start taking them. As dramatic as this sounds, I'm writing this now after just thinking about how my experience by his side has changed my views and life for the better. Since that first…read morevisit Dr Sayeed has done joint replacement surgery on both my shoulders and both my knees due to severe bone on bone joint disease I am very happy that I chose to have Dr Sayeed do all of my surgeries. He is professional yet warm and explains things in a way that anyone can understand. He also shows you the X-rays and MRI's and explains to you what you are seeing and then discusses options with you. The surgeries were not without hiccups,they never are, but there was never any doubt in my mind that the outcome would be less than discussed. Dr Sayeed did not know until my first surgery that I was a retired nurse, it made no difference. I wish other doctors and their staff could take a page from his office standards and understand that it's not just the clinical part that needs to be excellent but the people interaction also makes a big difference in the healing process. I do not hesitate to refer people to Dr. Sayeed and have on several occasions (including my son). He is an excellent surgeon, doctor and person. I hope this information helps you.

Thankfully, New Braunfels Podiatry got me in one day later. Dr. Ransom was incredible. He made me feel comfortable, explained everything, and the procedure was quick and much easier than I expected. His assistants and the front office staff were just as wonderful kind, professional, and genuinely caring. I'm so thankful for the excellent care I received. We have definitely found our family's podiatrist, and I highly recommend New Braunfels Podiatry to anyone needing foot care!

My right toe developed an ingrown nail three weeks ago. I tried really hard to take care of it…read moremyself, but it kept getting worse. Yesterday, I went to the Emergency Room in New Braunfels and the doctor there did his best to excise the offending piece of nail. This morning, my toe was throbbing, and bleeding so I knew that things were just not right. I was not a prior patient of this practice. I called Dr. Ransom's office at 10:30 today, not realizing that normally they close at 12 on Friday. I fully expected to have to wait over the weekend to get an appointment. None-the-less, Dr. Ransom took my call... talked to me personally and told me to come right in. I arrived at his office quickly and after only a few minutes, I was called back to an exam room. Dr. Ransom explained why the ER visit didn't quite fix my problem. He was able to get the ingrown toenail out and bandaged very quickly. After suffering for three weeks, today is the first day my toe is only tender. Dr. Ransom's staff were all very polite and everyone was extremely nice. I recommend this practice very highly.

Thanks to Dr. Hidalgo's treatment plan, pain management, and the use of durable medical equipment, my pain has improved tremendously and is now almost nonexistent. There was a time when I thought surgery might be my only option. Instead of rushing into it, Dr. Hidalgo took the time to carefully review my MRI and gave me an honest assessment. He told me surgery wasn't necessary, and I truly appreciated his integrity and commitment to doing what was best for me rather than recommending an unnecessary procedure. My first appointment was back in September and he looked at my foot and immediately told me that I was going to need inserts to help with the way I was walking. He showed me some but kept trying to upsell the ones he created. He told me they wouldn't have my size for a few weeks and prescribed me a pain medication. The pain medication did not help at all and I let him know that away my follow up appointment in October. He told me there wasn't really much they could do until I started wearing the inserts (which they still didn't have). He then told me they were delayed again and would have them in December and that one of the staff would call. Well now it's January and I have yet to hear a thing from these people. My foot problem has gotten worse but I was waiting for this insert because of the information I was given. I had really high hopes coming here because of reviews I read on different websites, but I was let down. I won't be coming back here and am finally seeking out a second opinion.
