It's as far from secure as it gets. For every dollar you get from them, they give you two headaches and a panic attack. If you work off or late hours? You can look forward to missing sleep for the possibilities of either spend an exorbitant amount of time on hold or, being transferred to an office out of state and ignored. I'm so grateful that this office is so unhelpful while we continue to pretend we aren't living through a societal collapse. The only thing worse than "living" as an American, is trying to do it while disabled. Minus 5 stars.

It just shows how large the territory used by the Nez Perce was (and when you look at the size of their reservation now, sadly how small and confined they are now). There's a museum at the park headquarters which goes into the culture of the Nez Perce and how it was changed and evolved with the introduction of horses, white settlers, and to the present. If you're also looking into the history of the region, one stop is Canoe Camp, where the Nez Perce helped Lewis and Clark by feeding them and to carve the canoes that took them to the Pacific Ocean Captains. The Corps of Discovery spent more time among the Nez Perce than any other group they encountered in their journey, and entrusted them with their horses and gear as they embarked on their final leg of their journey to the Pacific Ocean.

This is a relatively short, easy hike. It can be tricky to find and easy to miss so make sure you…read morefollow the directions on the website. There are a couple of small signs at the trail head. The hike itself is a little overgrown at certain points but nothing you can't get through. I wouldn't bring young children here though. Watch out for the stinging nettles! My boyfriend and I made the mistake of wearing shorts and we kept getting stung. My legs still ache a little. The bottom of the hike is pretty bushy and shady but the top leads to a nice hill with wild flowers, views of the wheat fields, and a great vantage point to view the surrounding area. We didn't see any wildlife besides a few birds (which were chirping beautifully throughout the hike). If you're looking for a simple place to go and relax, you should give it a try! It's now maintained by the Palouse Clearwater Environmental Institute--remember to keep it clean! There's a cute little guest book about 10-15 minutes into the trail where the actual PCEI sign is.

I think this is one of the coolest libraries I've ever been in. It's in an old hardware building…read more Very artsy. It may not have a lot of books, but it's part of a huge group of libraries so you can search and place a book on hold you want to read. They also have little rooms and sections of the library for people to use for meetings and such. They have some classes you can sign up for as well. I love this place.
