I purchased a life term policy with the highest cost of the county in 2007-2008…read more I asked that i have every rider at its best. When i was hospitalized 7 months into the policy Jeff Gest said 'no you dont have the disability rider'. As the policy neared its 10 term, and being unable to pass a physical for new insurance in 2017, i asked that they be prepared to covert the policy. I approached two national companies, since my policy premium was expected to move from $42 to $760 monthly. Both companies madedcompeting offers for $28000 and $39600. I called Jeff and he said he had overlooked telling me that i had but 5 weeks from his call to 'convert'. He increased the policy costs to $68 and a $24 add rider. But that convertability had expired. I lost a $250,000 payout for hospitalization because of his overlooking a single small check box. I trusted him then. I lost a $40.000 conversion payout because he didnt state in the documents requested at 'conversion request' that it would expire before my 60th birthday. I called then and asked that he cancel the policy. He didn't. After four following auto withdraw payments i called asking why. He said 'i need your personal signature'. He had NOT told me that in any earlier request to cancel. For 10 years i trusted him and he said 'sorry, its all up to farmers. i did nothing wrong'. Needless to say, i cannot recommend him, although i continue to trust Farmers to ALWAYS be in the insureds corner. I have a clear idea now how Jeff makes his money.
