Come here for all your fishing/hunting equipment. I recently ventured here because I was looking for a mosquito net for a hiking trip. I called the store and the owner was incredibly helpful in finding it off the shelf. The mosquito net was a camouflage-type, which to be honest, wasn't the best quality for $10.99, but I think the support and hominess of the store bumped it up to a 5-star experience for me. Jeff was able to take a part and tighten a few loose screws on my crossbow and give it a quick look-over while I waited. it took him about 12 minutes including a practice shot he asked me to take at his target. He was friendly and knowledgeable but didn't hesitate to charge me $85 for his service! I find this charge exorbitant and since he didn't post or tell me his cost in advance, it is also deviant! I felt taken care of but also taken advantage of. Informing customers of the fee in advance of service is simply respectful and good practice. I like to support small businesses but not if they act this way! read more

This is the place I go to for live minnows. They will normally last quite a while if you change the water every couple of days. I always pour the water out and let it sit for 24 hours to get the chlorine out before I transfer the minnows. They also specialize in bows and bow hunting materials. There is also a machine outside where you can get wax worms or nightcrawlers even when the store is not open. read more

I recently purchased a crossbow at this store and was told they needed 10 days to assemble and prep the item for me. They provided me with a specific date and time to pick it up so that I could be briefed on all the features of the bow. So that I would be punctual, I arrived 10 minuets prior to my appointment time and was told they would see me soon. I waited for 1 1/2 hours in their store while the 3 staff served everyone else who came through the door. I seemed they didn't have much interest in keeping the appointment they made for me until I asked for my money back. They were not even apologetic that they did not care about honoring their appointment or their lack of ability to provide me with basic customer service. If you are looking for expediency, basic courtesies, or punctuality, this is NOT the place to spend your money and waste time sitting around being ignored. read more

This was the year I told myself I was finally going to upgrade my bow for the upcoming hunting season. I had done my research on archery shops in the area and all roads kept leading me back to Niagara Outdoors. Boy, am I glad I chose them! I went in on a Tuesday morning with the intent to just window shop and hope something caught my eye. I was in the market for a HOYT or a Mathews and Earl let me hold and feel out both. I told him what I was looking for in a bow and the style of hunter I am. He recommended the HOYT Axius Alpha. It is the bow I didn't know I needed in my life. I'm in love with it. They have a really cool "package program" there. Certain bows you buy give you the option to have them built out and set up with a 5-pin sight, quiver, six arrows and filed tips, peep sight and a whisker biscuit or drop away rest. The staff in this shop are smart. They've done their homework. They've spent time learning from the technicians that work in the actual factories these world-class bows are crafted in. If you are specific with your needs, they will quite literally, read your mind! Once I purchased my bow, I met Jeff Pippard, the owner of the shop for the tuning process. The amount of attention and care and effort he put into my experience is what made it all worth it for me. You would think that the owner of a busy establishment wouldn't have time for most customers with everything they have to juggle. But Jeff knows how to make you feel as if you and him are the only two people on planet earth. In 30 minutes time, I had felt like I'd known him my entire life. Those are the people you remember. Ones that with their personality and charisma alone, can leave a lasting impact. I was able to shoot my bow in his indoor range and he tuned it out for me in real-time, giving me pointers and tips along the way in order to make me a better archer in the future. Especially with such a new and high-tech piece of equipment that I wasn't used to from coming off such an older bow. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him. I've been shooting baseball-sized groups with every pin on my sight since I've had it. The equipment there is top of the line and industry leading from wall to wall. They understand that you get what you pay for and service is everything. They know how expensive their bows are and for good reason. But they will not send you on your way unless you are 100% satisfied. The beauty of their privately-owned shop, is it goes completely against the corporate retail business models you see everywhere. A true "try before you buy" establishment is what they aim to be and they nail it! Nothing is worse than buyers remorse, especially when you're paying top dollar for a piece of equipment. This is also something they know at Niagara Outdoors. So please, if you're looking for a new bow, hunting gear, targets, etc, look NO FURTHER. Hands down best shop five counties wide. NIAGARA OUTDOOR BOW SHOP - Scammer Fellow WNY Sportsman!!! Don't get scammed by Niagara Outdoors owner Jeff Pippard's classic "bait & switch" offers. I was recently quoted one price for a high-end bow, then told that he only honors written quotes and not verbal quotes (even though he has a record of it in his call log). Perhaps this is the way he lures you into his shop for the up-charge. . .? When questioned as to why he won't honor his "word" he stated that "I would learn a ton about bow set up and that he is the ONLY shop in the area who can properly set-up a bow and for that you have to pay retail." He then went into a narcissistic rant about how great he is and how everyone else sucks and that's why he charges what he does and how he could charge a lot more. I'm all for supporting small business and seeing someone make a profit -- but I have a real concern with people who don't honor what they say. Maybe he can tune a bow pretty good, but he comes up WAY short when it comes to character. Buyer Beware!!! read more

Jeff has been great to work with over the last 7 years. Initially when I ordered a bow, there was a mistake. I didn't get what I ordered. Jeff made it right and took a pretty big loss by doing so but gained a customer for life. Bow hunting is expensive, but you really do get what you pay for with Jeff. If you don't like that then maybe stick to smooth bore shotguns. Great service, quality products, Don't go to a big box store, go to a real professional. read more
