There are two services each Sunday - one at 8:30 AM and one at 11:00 AM. The earlier is a (slightly) more traditional service, and the later is more contemporary. The church is known for its strong music ministry, strong teen and children's ministries, and Biblical preaching. Calvary Church believes that Jesus Christ is the only way to peace with God, and that the Bible is true and authoritative. If you are looking for a warm, welcoming church where you can be comfortable in either a suit or in jeans, Calvary is a good place to be.

I found this place by accident…read more I attended a Women's Retreat several months ago the the gospel singers from the conference were amazing, so I wanted to check out their church, and since attending I have not stop going back. The place is located on the 2nd floor above a shopping center and is very hard to find. Look at the pictures you say why would I want to attend that place? Well, this place is AWESOME, unlike any church I have ever attended before. The Holy Spirit is actually at work in this church. Lives are changed, healed and blessed. The sermons are real and the music feeds my soul. No matter what you believe or don't believe, personally, you want to experience this church at least once in your life. This church is racially mixed and full of love, peace, joy and freedom. I just can't say enough about this church and the people who attend. There is power in the Holy Spirit and you actually feel it. Look at the pictures and decide how this diamond is hidden by the outside. The church is above a sports store and a liquor store. You don't have to dress up for this church just come as you are. You don't have to convert or believe anything just come and check this place out, it is a REAL experience.

I've heard the bible expressed in many ways but KLCC is opening my eyes to the Word of God in ways that I couldn't imagine. If you would have told me 5 years ago that I would be at a church like this I would have laughed. But having opened my mind and heart it's allowed me to see that this church really loves Jesus. Their purpose and direction is apparent...to see Jesus by any means. And to make sure that the message and the love of Christ is not just preached but demonstrated with passion and Joy. I went from skeptic to being completely convinced that KLCC is working with faithfully ordered steps to help advance Gods kingdom and I'm excited to be there!

High Acres Christian Church is a small, non-denominational community church in the hills of…read moreAnsonia, CT. It is pastored by Pastor Jim Wegener. I visited the church's morning service on October 4, 2009. The service began about 10:00 AM, and ended about 11:45 AM. This is a small church - 90 chairs are set up on a Sunday, and this week there were about 45 attenders. The people are very welcoming and friendly, seeking out visitors but not overwhelming on the first visit. The dress is casual, and the worship style is contemporary. The service was about 1/3 music lead by lay people, about 1/3 communion (they celebrate the Lord's supper every Sunday) and church business (baptism, scripture reading and reflections by Elders, offering), and about 1/3 sermon (children's church is offered during the sermon). The sermon itself was expository out of Revelation 3, and was a good mix of scholarly discussion and direct application to the Congregation's lives. The pastor has no pulpit, but walked freely about the church, and enjoys a very interactive (but not socratic) style of presentation. Overall, I had a very good experience at the church. The gospel is preached, the people take care of each other, and there is a strong emphasis on ministering to the community around them.
