I remember when we first moved to the area, we wanted to fill the house with new furniture. Oz Design Furniture was one of the places we visited and one of the places we ended up buy most from. We were being taken care of a lovely gentleman who works there. He stuck with us from beginning to end of our picking and choosing which lead to the purchasing. He showed us the many options they have for furniture suites. He explained that some of the furniture on display is available to choose in colour other than whats on display. We found a cabinet, entertainment unit and coffee table that we liked. We choose the colour we wanted and he went ahead to get it ordered. A few weeks later he gave us a courtesy call to let us know it was made and will now be shipped to their store. We saw the finished product and we were thrilled! They delivered to our home and the furniture looks brand new and hasn't moved since. Oz Design Furniture team are very professional and a super friendly bunch of people. It made choosing our furniture very easy and fun experience.

They filled in that void in the market, for trendy, quality furniture at average to pricey costs. Nowadays, there are many other players in the market attempting at a slice of the pie. In fact, I think Ikea has tempted some of their customers away. Freedom no longer has the same appeal it used to. When picking a lounge, I wasn't convinced Ikea is the place to go. So to Freedom we went. We had purchased a lounge with chase from Freedom and waited for around 3-4 months. After persistently chasing it up, it finally had arrived. To my horror, the chase was on the wrong side! It would not work in the lounge room- it's all wrong! We complained and they apologised and said they'd re-order it. No compensation, we were expected to just wait. Wait, we did and it arrived correctly 2 months later. This was one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. Not only did it take twice as long as their estimated wait, which they blamed on the factory workers in China, the customer service back was appalling.

My wife was going to furnish our entire new house - lounges, bedrooms etc - probably spend close to 10k but not anymore. Susan couldn't even be bothered coming to the lounges less than 20m away, and insisted I go and find out "what it's called" and she'll look it up on the computer. Still, it looks pretty good and with their low prices, makes it hard to resist. It's quite a big showroom filled with furniture which you meander through and around. During the times I've been both of weekends and weekdays, I didn't find it to be too busy inside, so it gives plenty of time to peruse the options. One thing I noticed which I didn't like to much is that they lack in good customer service. I walked in and circled the entire store without so much as a glance. I didn't take it personally, because I noticed it happened with all the customers they had in store at the time. The staff waited until they were approached by customers first. I don't know about you, but I think that's all back to front! In the end, after I approached them and asked for assistance. They were relatively nice and helpful enough. Not the most pleasant of shopping experiences, but it will do.

I remember when MOZI launched and was such a small collection of knick knacks for the kitchen. And now look at this little Aussie brand that could! Measuring spoons, plastic bag holders (yes, they're a thing!), bowls, tea towels, plates, dog leads, napkins, and even candles are all neatly displayed in their "print story" categories making a visit to MOZI on trendy James Street an organised mind's dream. Everything is in its place and it makes it that much easier to find what you're looking for. It's fun without being frivolous and twee without being saccharine. If you're looking for a quirky and unique gift for a loved one getting married, moving into a new house, having a baby, birthday, engagement, just because...you get the point...MOZI should most certainly be on your list. Knowing nothing about the different types of beds out there, I wondered into my fourth bed shop…read moreSnooze, suddenly feeling very snoozy myself. Entering the airconditioning... great stuff. I met a nice gentleman who asked me if I needed any help... so I replied help. The poor guy didn't know what he was getting into. He started asking me all these questions about beds, looking at the blank expression on my face I decided I would tell him the truth... I don't know anything about a bed. I know that I need it to feel not too hard but not too soft. I knew I wanted one with a warranty. that's about it. No fancy stuff like tassles along the edges... He mentioned a few things to me: He was a specially trained sleep consultant (huh?) Snooze has been around for 30 years (I guess that's kind of good) Taking away this information, I figured it was gibberish for 'I know what I'm talking about fool, listen to me when I tell you this bed is da bomb'. We found a nice mattress, a mix between inner spring and latex, we differentiated between frames and ensembles, we differentiated the types of wood? Anyway, I walked out of there thinking 'the price is the same as the others, I have to think about this' but I definetely learnt a lot of stuff about beds, and how complex they are. Little organisms they are really... aren't they. No... they're just beds. Definetely check out a Snooze shop if you are hopeless about beds like I am, I guarantee you'll at least learn something, to better arm yourself at bed negotiation. It's a crazy world out there. Information is power! Or in this case, Snooze is power!

Went into this store today looking for a matress. Store is clean and presentable. They were not…read morethat busy and i was in there for about 45mins trying different beds. Not one staff member greeted me or approached me. They just stood around. I had to pass 2 staff members on 2 separate occasions that were standing in the walkway between beds. Not a word. I figured it would be too much trouble for them so i walked around the corner to Forty Winks and bought a matress. It came with a discount, free delivery, and staff who did not just stand around like stunned mullets.
