We worked directly with Dawn to landscape our front yard with some nice turf and rocks in March of 2022. This was a small job, but Dawn treated us with respect and attention to get exactly what we wanted and began the project immediately. Their employees were very professional and finished the landscaping in just over a week and it still looks great a year later. I deliberately set out to find this nursery that I had read about. Mind you, this was in the beginning of summer here, the temp was close to 100-- but I wanted to explore our new area, and to find a garden center that had a more interesting focus than the ones at nearby HomeDepot & Friedman's. So off I drove, north to the Lake Mendocino road & up the hill. I was in for a treat I could see already when I pulled into their gravel lot. A nice old house with a welcoming porch. It won my heart right away with a big bowl of water out on the shaded step for dogs! And a resident dog that came out to greet you. This nursery is laid out like some of my favorites in Berkeley [ the now gone Smith & Hawken on Gilman, and the entrance to Berkeley Hort ; and Buena Creek in San Diego]-- with mini-gardens using appropriate plants, and with those plants available on tables nearby. So you can meander around, and feel the beauty of the arrangements. It's a very clever way to present plants--to give you good ideas of combinations for shade or sun. I felt like I was in a botanic garden. But the heat got to me, there wasn't much shade, so I didn't see the whole nursery and I've not been back since. But once this rainy business blows over I'd like to go up & see what they have for this season. It's bound to be beautiful & tempting. read more

Dawn called me and was very rude on the phone. I was calling for a quote on artificial turf and had to get two quotes for a grant I was approved for. She would not stop stressing how their product is the best, and American made and didn't care what anyone else was going to quote me. I appreciate that, and prefer American made, but she actually put me off with her sales pitch and the fact that I may be wasting her time! Dawn called me in response to a Home Advisor inquiry. I explained what I was looking for and even agreed to text her pictures of the area I wanted them to work on. The pics were taking a long time to send so Dawn agreed to call me back after she looked at them or if they didn't arrive. She came out today and gave me great info and an estimate on their artificial grass product as well as an estimate along with some great advice on a decorative rock project. We are very pleased with work done by Nickel Creek. We contracted Nickel Creek through Home Advisors to install a synthetic front lawn. Contract and Information on their website gave us a very accurate idea of the overall processes involved with the project. They provided us with plans and a schedule that was advantageous to the both of us. The professionalism of management and work crew is evidenced by comments from surrounding neighbors who also monitored the project. Communication of progress and status was detailed and timely. Called this business to set an appointment for someone to come out and give us a price on the artificial grass , well yes a young lady came out showed us a sample of her product took measurements and TOLD us she would be emailing us an estimate. About three people recommended this place to me one day in a meeting. They have a great selection and the people are very helpful and friendly. We had a question about a plant and the books came out and the plant was identified. I wanted to stand on the plastic turf examples, but I was afraid to. Running my fingers through it was fun. After making the decision to install synthetic lawn, we looked at several choices and found NorCal Easy Green was definitely the nicest product. It feels and looks like real lawn. Dawn came out the same day we contacted her and was extremely knowledgeable about the product. We had a large event planned a couple weeks after we ordered our lawn and crossed our fingers that it would arrive on time. Dawn jumped through some major hoops to ensure that we received our lawn in a timely manner. We chose synthetic lawn because of the low maintenance as well as the perfect yard for our dachshund dog. This spring, Dawn came to our home and showed her products, measured, and provided an estimate. The product was a little slow shipping from the east coast, apparently in high demand at that time, but Dawn and her crew worked hard to make up for lost time. We were in awe at the hard working crew, hot as it was, they worked steady and meticulously for 5 days or so. The results are a beautiful green front and back yard, with no problems or issues since the installation. It provides a clean area for our dog to run and play.
