Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a typical bride. I wanted simplicity, no hassle, diy-don't-give-a-hoot-if-it-looks-fancy-or-not kind of wedding. If it wasn't a requirement by my venue to have a coordinator I probably wouldn't have even thought to hire one. But I'm SO happy that I did! Within a phone call, Nicki had covered everything that needed to get done within the few months I had left, understood and embraced my laid back vision, and made me feel so comfortable and so much less like I was drowning in wedding stuff. On the day of, she arrived when she said she would, handled all of my extra decorations and made sure everything looked put together and amazing for us and our guests! She made sure my husband and I had time alone when we could and kept our schedule rolling on time while staying flexible to things that arose. She's so in tune to her clients needs and limits, and understands that the best thing a bride can have during that stressful time is a steady hand and calm point person. Nicki is an absolute professional and incredibly talented, to boot. We hired her to help us plan and execute our wedding celebration. She took the time to listen to what was important to us, and based on that, helped us visualize and implement what was easily the most fun and awesome party we have ever attended (and it was our own! Ha!). During the site visit, Nicki was able to take my thoughts and begin to materialize them into an action plan. When I began to get overwhelmed at the sheer amount of details this undertaking would involve, she observed that and called an end to our meeting. In spite of my insistence ("No, really, I'm OK, I'm not too overwhelmed, I mean I AM, but we can keep going!"), she knew I was at my limit. Again - something only a pro would do. Nicki spent some time after our meeting putting a vision together, as well as a complete to-do list, and sent it to us in a timely fashion. She instructed me to go through it with a fine-toothed comb and to call her if I needed ANYTHING. The amazing thing was, because her plan and timeline was SO complete, I rarely did need to call her. She had every single detail written down, including my equipment rental list, information that my vendors would need, reminders for me, a detailed timeline, what information I still needed to get - it was all there. When I DID reach out to her, she was always prompt with a helpful response. When I arrived at the Thursday before our Saturday event, I very satisfactorily checked off the last item on my list and smiled, knowing every detail was now taken care of. The incredible thing was that, sure enough, the day of the event, everything ran smoothly and as planned. Nicki did an absolutely phenomenal job coordinating our wedding. If you are considering hiring her, just do it. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made. She was helpful throughout the process, but in particular the day before and of the wedding she was a complete rockstar. She intuitively knew when to step in and make decisions so we could just enjoy the day, and when to double check with us first. There were so many little touches she thought of that we are so grateful for- from making a custom sign for the beers my husband home brewed to carefully arranging pottery made by my dad with doilies from my husband's grandmother on our guest table, to ensuring that my glow stick silent disco dreams came true, to ensuring our wine was properly topped off during dinner. I'm sure she problem-solved for so many things that we never even knew about, which makes her even more of a rockstar, because we could just be relaxed and happy the whole time. Our friends and family could not stop complimenting us not only on our wedding, but on Nicki. I feel weird even calling her our "coordinator" because her professionalism was CEO status! Nicki is awesome- she coordinated my wedding and also provided a lot of the decorations. We worked with her over a few months as we planned and then had our wedding at a site for which everything had to be brought in from toilets to stoves. I interviewed several coordinators before choosing Nicki and it was the best decision! In the beginning she provided advice and was a sounding board for planning and contracts. As we got closer to the wedding she took over many of the vendor relationships, including one that was very challenging for us. It was a huge help to have someone else taking care of a very important but hard dynamic because then it didn't impact our happiness on the day. I leaned very heavily on her for design thoughts and she did all the menus, place-cards, seating boards, etc... On the day of, she came over at 9:30 a.m. and ended up needing to stay until 12:30 a.m. I'm blissfully unaware of most of what she did that day but the wedding was awesome, our guests had a blast and Nicki never stopped moving. When our shuttles were a complete disaster at 10 p.m. she found the number for the shuttle service and dealt with it with one of our friends. I looked at her in a panic and she said she'd already planned to stay until things got straightened out and that she'd make sure it was okay. Exactly what you want to hear when there are only a few songs left of the event you've been planning for a year. Nicki provided advice when we wanted it, but she holds on loosely to her opinions and deferred to our vision when I had it and advocated for us when things got hard for other vendors. We couldn't imagine having had the wedding without her help, we could not have done it without her. She's a great planner, very thoughtful, fun, kind and great the day of. She also does an awesome job with decorations and goes out of her way to come up with cool ideas and keep the costs inline. If she seems inexpensive, she is, she's amazingly underpriced for her services. She's amazing, if you're looking for a wedding coordinator- you found her. She goes way above and beyond and most importantly she'll be your biggest advocate and protect you. I cannot recommend Nicki more. read more

The best decision my wife and I made (besides marrying each other) was hiring Nicki to be our wedding planner. From the start, she was super fun and inspiring to work with. She kept us on track, talked us off the ledge more than once, met with us multiple times on-site, was available by email and text, gave great ideas and suggestions, and was overall a wonderful person to have on our team. Our guests who got to meet her at the wedding LOVED her. That being said, she took care of every tiny detail and stayed for the most part behind the scenes.
