Note to YELP, please don't delete this one or I won't write anymore!
I initially emailed here to ask about a consultation in December 2012. The extremely helpful head receptionist, Kevin organised this for me. I booked in with Martin and he gave his honest opinion as I needed a new, more age appropriate style as looked like a throw back from the 80's! I chose to book in for Jan' 13 and have been going ever since for a men's cut with him. The establishment is classy with great fixtures and you don't feel all rammed in. Great hot drinks as good as Starbucks included.I have used Francesco's, Toni and Guy and barbers in the past but none come up to the cutting standard I get here. I can honestly say I have never had so many compliments about my hair since going here. Family, colleagues and friends regularly comment on how good the cut is and how good it looks, before this people use to compare my hair to Kajagoogoo, Rod Stewart or Barry Manilow! not any more though, I've had Richard Geer, George Cloony and Julian Clary (the person who said Julian Clary had a tragic accident ;-) but well happy with the other comparisons :-) All staff here are always pleasant and obliging. Yes, it isn't cheap but you pay for extremely high quality cutting skills and the ability to suggest and come through with the right style for you, and it sure shows if you like to look after yourself like I do. I can't speak for any of the other stylist but I would presume they all have the same skills/talents, as the Nicky Clarke brand would not employ them otherwise. I tell Martin he is an artistic genius and he thinks I'm joking but I'm actually not, you get a precision cut each and every time. The adjective I would use for this place and its staff is CONSISTENCY: Always pleasant/engaging, always helpful and ALWAYS an amazing cut. HIGHLY recommend. Mr Clarke, you should be proud of this branch. If any of the staff read this, keep up the great work, it is appreciated and you're all a credit to the brand. read more
