Disgusting company and workers. I was having a weave installed. I had 4 packs of hair. As the girl was weaving my hair, she took a pack and emptied the hair out on the chair. Another woman then proceeded to walk pass and through a towel over the hair on the chair and another woman went over to the towel and picked it up along with the 24 inch hair! I immediately grabbed my bought and paid hair and left the shop!. Theives! They will steal your knickers if they're glued onto your bottocks! Avoid like the plague or you will regret it. This was my experience. Never again! read more

Whether you're new to hair extensions or a pro in putting them in yourself, what ever you need Fly Girls will be able to help. Personally, when I wear hair extensions I purchase a pack of hair and do it myself as it works out cheaper. If you would like to go down this route, the girls who work there will be able to help you pick your perfect colour match. You will also need to buy suitable clips which you will have to sew in when you get home. They also provide full hair extensions so if you prefer longer lasting ones this would be your best option, although more expensive they will look fab! read more

There comes a time in every girl's life where she thinks, "You know, I've spent years growing out this beautiful, shoulder-blade length hair that everyone envies. It sure is time to cut it off." It always turns out, however, that it was not, indeed, time to cut it off. Bitter regret, and much wailing and gnashing of teeth ensue. But thanks to modern technology (thank you, modern technology), there is now a way to pay for long hair until the real thing arrives, finally, a year later -- hair extensions! And Fly Girls is a great place to get it done. Whilst their hairdressing services are geared towards Afro-Carribean-textured hair, they also offer hair extensions to anyone in need, like myself. The extensions themselves can be purchased anywhere, so if you want to save a few pennies, definitely opt for this option, as the ones purchased through Fly Girls are definitely on the expensive end. Fly Girls offer all kinds of extension services -- glue-on, weave or threaded. I had the threaded kind, and they were magnificent. You couldn't tell the hair from my own at all, and for the first week, it was luxuriant and lovely. The girl who put them in was very kind and chatty, and all the customers seemed to be having a good time and enjoying their time there. However, whilst the prices listed in Fly Girls' brochure seem very reasonable, I think I may have been taken advantage of slightly by being told that I needed four double rows of extensions (they price per row), instead of four single rows, allowing them to charge double per row. But now that I know better, my second visit I'll just ask for what I need. Other than that, the service is fine, the shop itself is clean and white with pink and black accents, and all the girls are in nice black uniforms. The service is good, but do read up on hair extensions before you go, and know exactly what you want. read more

I was recommended Fly Girls by a colleague who'd visited the shop to purchase hair extensions for a wedding which was coming up. I'd heard about Fly Girls from a few other people, so decided to check out the shop myself a few weeks back. There are so many black hair & beauty shops in Birmingham so I'd visited quite a few across the city. With Fly Girls, I think their biggest selling point is that they cater to everyone's needs no matter what ethnic background you are from. There were actually a lot more Caucasian women in the store purchasing hair extensions and fly girl does have a large variety of beauty products/hair to choose from. read more

I find that my experience at Fly Girls' hairdressers and salon was not as satisfying as I had hoped it would be. I was really excited to get my hair sewn in at the charge of sixty pounds which is quite steep as hair extensions alone can range around forty pounds to sixty pounds and they don't offer any deals to make your beauty treatment any cheaper. I found that the girls and hairdressers that worked at Fly Girls were very funny, easy going and liked to have a laugh during work, which didn't bother me at all as their service and quality of their performance was of standard. I found that my hairdresser nicely secured my hair extensions to give me that extra reassurance, however, I deeply regret asking for my hair to be cut as well as my hair dresser couldn't cut hair for anything! Everything else was great until it came to her cutting my fringe, which left me leaving Fly Girls disappointed and suicidal with how I looked! read more

My first fly girls experience was about 3 years back when they did my friends hair for her wedding. It was an appointment just before closing and because my friend dared ask the stylist to style her weave rather than just leave it raw the stylist replied she wanted to get home on time. My friend then said well at least add afew curls. The stylist responded by holding the curlers on her forhead causing a scar accross my friends head which she still has to this day! She didnt even apologise just smirked. The compensation which we had to argue for went from an apology from the manager to 10.00 off to 20.00 off! For a scar!!! I should have learnt from that but i didn't. Last month i wanted a high quality weave done and thought they might have upped their game. I booked in for a 90.00 full head which is almost double what I'd normally pay but it was a special occasion so thought meh. After waiting 2 hrs to be seen and missing my nail appointment a woman began. Long story short she used creamy brown thread to sew my jet black weave. Didn't bother cutting or styling it and for the first time in 15 years of me having weaves the weave left my scalp after about 3 weeks. It unravelled. It was hanging off in 3 different parts ive had to take it out. This is why I'm writing this review because I'm outraged. Moral of the story save your money go elsewhere. The nice shop interior is front for lack of talent imo. Next! read more
