They have been talking my mother out of making her own decisions and when my mom says no about something they go and do it anyways! They forget they work for you, you don't work for them! They try to reason "oh use this bank that we use," or this local insurance company or use this real estate agent as if I'm not aware they're getting a commission or washing someone's hand who will wash theirs back in return instead of you being to make your own choices. It's completely unethical! They overstep their role in their case and act as if they are also an agent or judge. You were hired for one thing work on that and leave the rest of the decisions to people who specialize in that practice.

I had a very unpleasant experience with Att. Stelman. The way he handled my case was absolutely…read moreunprofessional and at times even negligent. I was buying my first residence, cash transaction, and Att. Stelman's title examiner found a possible problem with the title. The advice i got was to "walk away". Needles to say i was very devastated, but after hearing Att. Stelman's explanation i realized that the consequences might be serios if i continue with the purchase. The owner of the property followed up with his insurance company and it turned out the insurance doesn't see any issues witht this property's title. At that point Att. Stelman advised me the opposite - go ahead with the purchase. I hired another attorney to do a second look on the paperwork so i can get more confidence in what is right and what isn't. By the time this got resolved i had to find a temporary place to live (because i've already notified my landlord i'll be moving out), move there for a month, store my belongings in a self storage and then move to the new property. Talk about stress and additional expenses! When we started to get closer to the closing day, he became more and more irresponsive. At that point i decided to purchase title insurance somewhere else and just let Att. Stelman finish the closing process. After the closing, he ignored my emails requesting to send the paperwork to the new attorney. And the paperwork that was available via public records was completed incorrectly. We had to go back to the seller for signature and then record the missing components with the city for additional fee. It took me a month to get a reply out of Mr. Stelman and only after i informed him that i'll be filing a complaint with MA board that oversees the rules of professional conduct for attorneys. I don't know why i got such negligent treatment, if it was because i was single lady or because i was buying cash and there was no bank to oversee what Att. Stelman was doing, but it doesn't matter. I believe one should be getting equaly professional service regardless of circumstances. And it wasn't the case with Att.Stelman. To sum it up, going through legal issues is stressful enough so you don't want to deal with additional stress added by dealing with Att. Stelman. I don't believe i need to chase my attorney down to get my questions answered and i do expect to get dedicated and quality service. What i got was neither.

I have worked with Attorney Stelman on numerous transactions as a real estate professional and I have found him to be overly responsive and very accessible in all occasions. Adversely, Attorney Stelman was once on the other side of a poor transaction where I could not get my client to sign a resale and Attorney Stelman worked his tail off to get his client his money back. I think he is a fantastic attorney and when my personal real estate attorney retires, he's going to be my guy. He is awesome!

I used the services of Jarrod Hochman twice in my life, both to dissatisfaction. The first time I…read moreused him was about eight years ago for a car accident case, and by the time this most recent accident rolled around in April of last year, I completely forgot how awful it was dealing with him and his office and how much I disliked the experience. This most recent time in April 2012, he gladly took my case and met with me once at his office. From then on, he did just about everything he could to avoid answering my calls himself or having to meet with me himself. The assistant he employed at the time also neglected to answer my phone messages. After months of dealing with two people failing to reply to me in timely manners, Jarrod hired a new assistant. Months after my physical therapy was completed and my injuries healed, I was not receiving word back on the status of my case. Again, I followed up, leaving voicemails and messages with the receptionist, most left again unanswered. I then finally got a meeting with Jarrod's assistant, at their office. She proceeded to tell me that they couldn't proceed with my case and settlement until they received the medical records and billing from my service providers, and that they were having trouble receiving them. At that meeting, I advised Jarrod's assistant that I had moved recently and to please update my address in their records. She took down my new address. From there, I myself went to my PT office to request my records, and went back a second time to pick them up. I also got the record/billing from my doctor's office. then drove and hand delivered all of these to Jarrod's office. From there, the case eventually got settled and in late January, my settlement check was to be mailed out to me. A couple of weeks later, I never received my check, so I called Jarrod. I fortunately got a hold of him by phone, and he said the check had been sent out. I asked him to which address, and he replied with my old address. So, his assistant had failed to update my records as originally instructed. Jarrod apologized for the delay and error on the part of his office, and offered to put a stop payment on that original check and cut me a new one if the original did not arrive in the mail (via mail forwarding) within the next few days. Another few days came and went, and no check. So I called him on a Thursday evening and left a message asking if he would please go ahead and stop payment, write a new check, as he had originally offered; I would go by his office myself to pick it up. Friday, he came into the office but did not call me back. The following Monday, his assistant called and said the check would be waiting for me downstairs. So I went by and picked it up, and drove to the bank, where I noticed he subtracted $32 for a stop check fee -- which was HIS fault and HIS offer -- as well as $70+ for medical record fees! I sent him a letter by certified mail on February 26 disputing these two fees, and as of today March 5, he has not responded either by mail or phone. *Update: March 6: After a phone call yesterday March 5 suggesting a possible complaint to the BBB, Jarrod called me today and advised he would not be contesting the two disputed fees and would be sending me out a check for that amount.
