I need new running shoes, and live right next to Britomart, so I thought I'd pop into the Nike store on a rainy Sunday morning and get some.
I'm by no means an awesome runner - I run about 20-30km a week as well as going to the gym. I know my size, and I know I pronate a bit, but have no idea which type of shoes I need to buy.
So I went in, looked at all their shoes and nice displays, stood in the middle of the shop looking around (like someone who might need help). But no one came up and asked me what I was looking for or if they could help.
I sat down on the seat thing that people use to try on shoes, looking around, gazed off into the distance (like someone who might need help). But no one came up and asked me what I was looking for or if they could help.
There were three people in the shop, two girls and perhaps the owner. The two girls both looked at me, with the vibe of what the fuck is that guy doing just sitting and looking around in the middle of the shop. But did they come up to me and ask me what I was looking for or how I was doing? Nope.
I don't know if it was deliberate (perhaps I wasn't wearing cool enough clothes), or maybe they are just incompetent, but it pissed me off enough to sign up to Yelp and write this review.
Oh and I need new running shoes, so now I'm going to have to get in my car and go somewhere else. read more
