But when I came back to go a bit lighter and have my root touched up. I originally only had Lara doing my hair but then another stylist named Devon came to help her with it. I explained what I wanted again and they started my hair. they foiled my entire head which was already alarming since I had only asked to brighten it up a bit and touch up my root. But instead of lightening up she made me brown with blonde highlights and a money piece. I was already blonde and I did not ask for brown, I am distraught and it has ruined the way i view hair salons. I also asked for a small trim, Devon took 3 inches off my hair including layers I did not ask for. We paid $400 for this service just for It to turn out being the exact opposite of what I asked for. If you value being heard and listened to when it comes to what is going on when it comes to your hair, I would not go here, or at least let Devon and Lara touch your hair.

Knowing my hair was damaged the owner suggested deep conditioning treatments at the salon's expense. Needless to say, these deep conditioning treatments did absolutely nothing to correct the situation. I took my time to visit the salon, receive the deep conditioning treatments, and again, at the recommendation of the owner, slept with the leave-in treatment in my hair overnight and my hair still remained damaged. Nothing Jolie Rain offered corrected the damage to my hair. Please do yourself a favor and find a different hair salon! Update: The owner, Lauren, telephones and leaves a voice mail message profusely apologizing and promises to send a check. Lauren asks that I please send her my address. I walked into this salon as a new customer expecting a professional, welcoming experience, and I left in tears--completely humiliated and taken advantage of. First, I specifically asked for a slight face frame. What I got was a choppy, uneven mess that looked like a botched DIY job. When I went back to see if anything could be done, the manager (a woman with red hair) not only looked at me like I was crazy but also gave me dirty looks the entire time, making me feel completely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Instead of offering any solution, she dismissed me, acting like I was the problem, claiming my hair "looked that way" because I straightened it too much. Second, the pricing was misleading and deceptive. Before booking, Paige told me via DM that a full head of highlights would be "about $200." Never once did she mention that because I have thick hair, I'd be charged $20 extra per additional bowl of product used. So my "about $200" service suddenly became $260--without warning. When I questioned the manager about this, asking if I should have been informed beforehand, her response was, "Well yes, the stylist should've informed you about that. I'll have to talk with her privately about that." Oh, okay--so it's totally fine to just take an extra $60 from me after the stylist herself told me it would be around $200? Absolutely unacceptable. When I asked for a refund, I was completely dismissed. Not a single person offered a solution or any sympathy. Instead, they gaslit me into thinking my hair "looked good" and that maybe someone else could try and angle it more for me. The cherry on top? When I asked to speak to the owner, I was told there was no way to contact her--not even an email. I was just supposed to wait and maybe she'd get back to me. On top of all this, the entire atmosphere in the salon was unprofessional and uncomfortable. The employees were having inappropriate conversations right in front of customers, making the whole experience feel awkward and unwelcoming. I wouldn't have even mentioned it, but after being completely dismissed and scammed out of $260 for an absolute mess, it just adds to the overall terrible experience. I grew up in a salon atmosphere--my aunt owned a salon for over 20 years, and never once did I see an unhappy customer be turned away and humiliated the way I was. A real salon that values its customers takes responsibility for mistakes and makes sure people leave happy. Instead, this place just gaslights you, takes your money, and treats you like a problem rather than a paying client. I left the salon crying and humiliated. I immediately went down the road to Boho Hair Salon in Asbury, where the stylists were stunned at how terrible my cut was. Unlike this place, they actually cared about fixing the disaster on my head. They were kind, empathetic, and offered me an appointment ASAP. As an Asbury local who works in the service industry, I know how important good customer service is. I never complain, I never send food back, and I've never made a fuss over bad nails or anything else. The one time I do go back to an establishment to have them acknowledge a serious mistake, I get dismissed, belittled, and basically told to just live with it. This salon is unprofessional, rude, and lacks any sense of accountability. They take your money, don't disclose their real prices, and then gaslight you into thinking their mistakes are your fault. If you value your hair, your time, your money, and basic human decency, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.
