After spending over $400 dollars 2 days before Mardi Gras, some rude women stole my $59 Mardi Grad coming out of the hotel elevator and before getting into our Uber for our cruise. Do, we had planned to come back 8 days later and have it replaced... I was talked into a gold hat that was supposedly half price because it was now 8 days later. $39... after the guy in the costume thought it in a plastic bag sideways, he repositioned it claiming it would be better and protect it from hurting the hat. After CAREFULLY caring the hat back and placing it on my bed... I realized, I had not looked close enough and the way he had thrown it in the bag had indeed ripped the beautiful details off the hat. After a closer look... it was a mess, EVERYWHERE!! You could tell that it had already been repaired by the extra, crooked glue lines everywhere. I went back to have a conversation about it and DENNIS (if that's his real name) was horribly rude and pointed to a sign that said no returns. He acted as though I took it home and tore it up just to bring it back, it had obviously been repaired many times because it didn't hold up long enough to get home.... DO NOT SHOP WITH THESE RUDE, insensitive people that sell cheap things that can't endure being put in a bag... If they are that delicate... care about your product AND PACK IT SO IT CAN MAKE IT 5 BLOCKS BACK TO THE HOTEL!!! JUST BE BECAUSE PEOPLE BUY THEIR PARTY COSTUMES HERE DOESN'T MEAN YOUR CHEAP OVER PRICED CRAP WONT CATCH UP TO YOU!!! I spent enough money at your store... you guys could have done the right thing! Its like a dream come true- a year round Halloween store- if only we had this kind of fun stuff in California! I popped in here while we were waiting for a lyft to the garden district right after we had brunch a Daisy Dukes. Nikki's Halloween Store is located down the road from the main heart of older New Orleans. My visit in the store was brief as the lyft arrived- however they have great decor for halloween and any party you could imagine- just think of all the themed parties that you can have throughout the year! read more

Extremely expensive costumes without the ability to try them on or return them. Unfortunately they are very popular and people have no self worth to not shop at a place that is a total rip off. They wanted $84 for a nun costume which was skimpy and not worth $84. The service was good but they didn't have any discounts. This place is amazing. They had something for everyone. I was in desperate need of a costume. We were there in town for the first weekend of Mardi Gras and they had the costume my 12 year old wanted to wear. WINNING! This costume got him photo ops, hugs, beads, and fun. Super helpful and willing to get me the right costumes needed. Loaded the batteries in it and sent me on my way! It is a 21 and over only store. So don't carry the littles with you. This is the all time best costume store ever!!! Once you get over the realistic dead people laying all over the place you can begin your hunt for everything you may need ,to be anything you can think of.Staff are friendly and fun and our girl Kylie ran around and dug for things that were not on the shelves... prices are reasonable but don't be shocked at what you may end up spending because there is so much to be had. To be honest, despite the excellent selection, the customer service is abhorrent. i don't remember the guy's name, but he was obnoxiously condescending, surly, unaccommodating, and abrasive. He did not greet us upon walking in, but rather waited until i had a question (after looking around the store for five minutes), then interrupted me in the middle of the question to brashly request that i present my ID. i understand that shops must card their patrons to ensure no liability, but i am a grown man with a full beard, and the tone of his request was so antagonistic i felt like walking out on the spot. When i made my $6 purchase, he wryly remarked 'big spender,' as if I were personally wronging him by not spending a large amount. When i politely remarked that i would be back when i had a little more money, he rolled his eyes in blatant disdain. TL;DR Very hostile, uncomfortable customer service environment due to toxic behavior of employees. read more

You're staff is not good at all. Extremely disappointed I made a yelp account just to comment on this place cuz I've never left a place so mad. I live in Nola so there's a lot of places I can go for costumes but I chose this one cuz my friend has recommend it. I went to buy a wig. I had the lady show me one out the box to make sure it was ok .. it was all cut in the back. Got another .. looked descent. Wasn't allowed to try it on .. I get that ... was rung up went home and the wig was all pulled out ans clips damaged. Went back the next day not even 24 hours later to return the wig and was told it was my fault and they didn't do exchanges, no one mentioned they didn't last night when I bought this, yet they let you know what you can't do at all times.. apparently it's on a piece of paper next to the register I checked out on, sorry I didn't notice it under all the crap you have on your counters. I asked if there was anything they did the bigger lady at the entrance just said nope, quite rudely, you didn't read we don't do anything, bye. She might have well said bye Felicia to me. ! Like I said I live here and work in a very centered place where people ask me for recommendations all the time this place will never be one from me. It's not so much buying a busted $40 wig .. it's the " friendly"face that met me at the door like I was so bum off the street.
