Fun spot where you can shop year round! A true (hidden) little gem for the city. The Mardi Gras Spot is not only publicly accessible, but you don't need a membership to shop here! They have everything and anything under this roof. From purses and throws, to bags of beads and plushes, it's a one stop shop. It's really well organized and they even do custom orders! Plenty of parking right in front of the store.

Tucked away in a nondescript Mid-City warehouse is this awesome shop that every local needs, at least once or twice a year. Inexpensive throws, decorations, costumes, wigs, party favors, flags, etc. Not just for Mardi Gras, either. They've got you covered for New Years Eve, St Patricks Day and Saints games, too! Great customer service, too. No need to cross the river or parish line to a chain store ever again.

    amazing selection of fine glitters

I have been coming here for years, sometimes weekly. This local family owned business started out for Mardi Gras throws, supplying parade riders with beads and plush throws- but has evolved into one of my favorite shopping experiences. Not only can you find a variety of throws, there are also children's toys and games, kids books, and adorable pajamas and smocked clothing for babies and children in New Orleans themes. There are costuming elements, like Mardi Gras shirts, dresses, coats, wigs, earrings, face glitter, rhinestone decals, and boas. I love their "wig wall" where you can find a variety of affordable wigs in all colors and lengths. if you're a crafter, this place is heaven. There are rhinestone decals, the aforementioned boas, second line umbrellas, and the cheapest fine glitter anywhere in the city available in any color imaginable. Check out my picture to see just how much is available. My only regret about posting this review is that Plush Appeal won't be my little secret anymore!

Love this place for your party events such as a birthday party for either adults or kids or even for throws at a parade if you are planning to ride one. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Price are like wholesale without needing a wholesale license to purchase here.

Ok this place is SO COOL. It's literally the Mardi Gras issue of Oriental Trading, IN PERSON, and somehow better because they have more than just small stuff. All the clothes (adult down to infant), toys, accessories, beads, books, etc that you could ever think you might want for Mardi Gras! And apparently they also do seasonal stuff for each season (so right now they also have a Valentine's Day section and St Patty's day section!) Prices are also pretty cheap compared to online stores and other local businesses! I am so happy to have found out about this place and will be recommending to all my friends and family looking to get festive!!

This was my first time here but will not be my last. I've never been to a Mardi Gras store before. There were so many bulk items perfect for parades. From beads to wigs to clothing, plush toys, glitter, umbrellas, lights...The Mardi Gras Spot has everything you need and more!! They have other party decorations for important life events like baby showers, weddings, and birthdays too.

    Plush poop.

10 minutes before closing and we needed an umbrella for a wedding second line that same evening. They came through for us just in time!

Stopped by looking for a couple additional throws for Endymion ride. Not much of a selection. 50% the choice of Beads by the dozen.

Gumbo: the gumbo I expected better honestly. The sausage was tough and for the gumbo to be slow cooked-- i received a lukewarm cup of gumbo. Double cut Porkchop: she was the star of the evening! She came medium well nestled on a pile of new potatoes and collard greens (that were orgasmic!). The dish is finished with a blueberry jus (Sp) I cleaned my plate almost. We did have an issue with one of my companions order. They also ordered the double Porkchop, however there's was undercooked. We informed our server, Charlie and they took care the issue right away! All of the seating upstairs is high top and close to the vents so we found ourselves cold and being dripped on. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and had a nice experience.

They also do custom orders and studio is based in Tangipahoa Parish, so they do markets all around. Great soaps and bath bombs! Delicious aromas. She also had a few festival hats and custom print T-shirts. Everything was very cool, extremely unique and crazy whimsical. Camera on phone is broken or I'd add pictures... next time. The soap packaging reads "Little Easy" but the clothing and accessories read "Gris Gris Girls".
