I went to Nine Yards during a day in Cwmbran for a quick lunch snack.
My experience? Overpriced and underwhelming would be the best way to sum it up.
Customer Service:
The staff are actually very friendly here so the customer service had nothing to do with the low rating. They're lovely people and I have utmost respect for them for being able to manage this cafe that seems to be constantly filled with people.
Food:
I paid a little over 4 pounds for a takeaway jacket potato topped with tuna, sweet corn, and mayonnaise. Already, 4.30 sounds a bit pricey but I figured that if the food was quality, I didn't mind. Also, keep note that I had a takeaway discount; dining in costs a bit extra on all meal charges.
When I received my jacket potato after about a 15 minute wait (that was so not worth it), I got a bland potato with pre-mixed toppings plopped on top. It was edible of course and I find tuna very enjoyable. But you don't really get what you pay for, do you?
I would consider coming here again and perhaps trying something else on the menu, but I wouldn't be too excited.
Like i said, overpriced and underwhelming. read more
