We chose a selection of entrees and main dishes to share. The staff were helpful in assisting us choose delicious dishes off the menu. It is BYO wine and Umami offer a small selection of Japanese beer to buy. The music was "old pop" which included 1940's hits and swing sixties classics, which we enjoyed. Recommend the Takoyaki and sushi dishes.

I love how the translation actually describes what is going on when you enter a sushi train restaurant! Whichever way you decide to look at it the sushi train is a novel Japanese fast food and fun way to eat sushi and experience Japanese cuisine. There are two Rainbow Sushi restaurants in Mona Vale. Both of are open for lunch and dinner Monday - Saturday. My favourite of the two is the sushi train. The sushi is always fresh and the Chef's are always happy to whip something up from the sushi menu if it's not already on the train. Seafood is my love so I always go for the fat juicy grilled scallops or salmon sashimi. My hubby is more a teriyaki man so goes for the teriyaki chicken or teriyaki beef which melts in your mouth. There are other dishes made fresh to order like Udon and Tempura. Order them from your friendly waitress. The restaurant isn't very big so you may have to wait at the station for a ticket at the train. See what I did there? If you are visiting Sydney's Northern Beaches and feel like a Sushi-go-round dining experience. Check out Rainbow Sushi. You won't be disappointed.

Thoroughly Japanese and very very good U-dong. Now it's back to the medical centre to wait for another hour. Next time I will be more careful shucking oysters.

They have no clue what gluten-free means or why it's important, and do not care. Several of the 'GF' dishes feature a big dollop of WHEAT noodles. Good thing I was paying attention to what they gave me. I asked them five or six times to confirm what the noodles were made from, but either a language barrier or sheer bad attitude made it impossible to extract an answer ("green tea", "flour", "green powder", etc). Eventually I got them to bring me the label - main ingredient "WHEAT". No concern. No apology. I expect the soy sauce is wheat-based too. I would never go back. Totally irresponsible. NOTE: This is the place with the banner "Sushi and Roll, Crazy Salad" over the front door. They may or may not still use the name "Wasabi".
