First I had to pay a new patient deposit. Never had to do this for any of my previous dentists. I should have been given a new customer deposit instead for the service I was about to receive. During my initial appointment I was told that i needed quite a bit of work totaling $6220. Basically was told a few other things i needed not included in this price as well. The first item i did need done but the rest seemed way more than my last dentist had recommended. Scare tactics that made me angry. I prepaid for the first service/appointment ($2075) in full before any work had been done. After the visit and once my insurance finally paid their portion I asked to be reimbursed what was remaining ($875). Had to call several times to get this rectified to only be told I did not know how my dental insurance worked. Fast forward to my wife and daughter going for cleanings. Never got a bill only a late payment notice saying we owed for these visits in full. I had my insurance statement showing they had paid their part several months before I received the late notice. Conover lost the payment somehow. Had to go in their office in person because over the phone they could not understand what I was telling them. Went in and paid my part and told them they needed to rebill my insurance. Got another late payment notice for this same bill stating if not taken care of it could go to collections. They could not even transfer our dental records to our new dentist correctly. My new dentist visit revealed I did not in fact need all the above work. The work i did have at Conover still hurts as well. But hey they give you some cool socks. I would look elsewhere for dental care. This place does not treat you like a customer only like a bank account.

Despite that, I recently received two invoices--dated January 2026--for services performed in 2024 and 2025. These were the first and only notices I ever received. The statements show no insurance estimate, no insurance payment, and no prior balance, which strongly suggests the office either never submitted the claims or submitted them incorrectly. Preventive services should have been fully covered, and any failure to bill insurance or notify the patient for nearly two years is a provider issue, not a patient responsibility. When a dental office assures patients that insurance is in network, then sends surprise invoices years later with no explanation, it creates a serious trust and transparency problem. I hope they address the internal billing issues that led to this situation so other families don't experience the same frustration.

I got talked into a consultation for crowns on my front 4 teeth - "to improve" my smile. Dr. M S played on an insecurity and I fell for it. Two days before the appointment I called to cancel. I had changed my mind. My gut was screaming at me to not do it. I told the office manager, Ms. M that I wanted to cancel my appointment. She said, "Sure, no problem. Can I have your name?" I gave her my name and she sucked in her breath dramatically and said, "Oh no, Michelle! You can't cancel. Dr. Marc has allotted 2-3 hours for you. There isn't enough time to get patients in to fill those slots. Why do you want to cancel?" I told her that I had changed my mind. That I didn't want to go through with the procedure. That I was extremely anxious and that my gut was telling me not to proceed. She said, "Why are you so anxious? Dr. Marc is one of the best. He does fantastic work and you'll be very happy with it when it's done." I started to cry. I told her I did not want to do it. She told me that I could not cancel the appointment. And against my better judgment I went to the appointment. That was the start of permanently ruining my teeth, my speech and my eating. My life has been turned upside down. The very first day when the numbing wore off I had searing pain in my teeth. I had extreme cold and heat sensitivity in my teeth. I was drooling and had a terrible lisp. I was told that it was because it was the temporary teeth and the permanent ones wouldn't cause a lisp and that the pain would go away with time. It did not. I called several times and had a few visits and many, many X-rays in the four month period after the first visit to get the crowns put on. Why? Because I was in so much horrible pain that I couldn't eat and I couldn't sleep. I was told that nothing was wrong. Well, I had abscesses! And my teeth had died because it had been left for so long. It took 4 months for them to find the infections and by then it took 4 rounds of antibiotics to bring the infections down. Which destroyed my stomach. I had pain up into my nasal cavities and cheek bones but I was told that there was nothing wrong with me for 4 months. I was then told that I needed root canals to fix the damage. Dr. M did the two root canals. And I still had terrible pain. I was told there was no reason for me to have pain and was being treated like it was all in my head. So, they finally decided to do a 3d panoramic X-ray. I had to see a specialist. I needed an endodontist and would likely need an apicoectomy. Surgery! I found an endodontist in my insurance network, since the one he referred me to and sent my X-rays to were not in my network. But they would not send my endodontist my X-rays. The X-rays were requested multiple times and were never sent. I had to go to their office and tell them that I wanted my X-rays for surgery. The endodontist said that there is significant bone loss due to how long the infections were let go in my mouth. Four months of ignored infections caused permanent bone loss. I had a new hydro-therapy procedure and the root canals redone. I was told that the root canals had not been done properly and the infection had not been properly cleaned out. I still had infection in my teeth 5 months on from getting the crowns. I have not had the apicoectomy. Yet. It is likely in my future because I still can not eat the way I used to. I can no longer tear or rip foods with my front teeth. I can no longer eat anything chewy or bite into things like crusty bread or bagels. And forget about ever biting into an apple again or eating corn on the cob. I still have pain in front teeth when there's any kind of pressure on them, ie - pushing with my tongue or my teeth coming together. It's been a year since the initial procedure and I still have pain. Oh, and I still have a slight lisp. Yep, at 53 years old I now have a lisp because of this dentist! I was also told that losing those teeth completely down the road is still a possibility. What a nightmare! Who wants to hear that they may lose their two front teeth! All of this has cost me thousands and thousands of dollars. When me and my family left this practice after what they did to me I could not get my dental records and X-rays sent to my new dentist. The office requested multiple times, and just like the endodontist, could not get them. I had to show up at the office and tell them that I wanted them sent right then and I waited in the office until they sent them over. If you value your teeth, your health, and your money then you should avoid this dentist office at all costs. My life has been permanently altered by this office and I will never eat or talk the same again.

It resulted in Bell's palsy- not a single care from the dentist and after he told me "ummm I need to go research this" I knew I was in trouble. Almost a full year and I'm not 100% healed. After he gave me a bs prescription- no more follow ups to see how I'm doing, no further instructions on what to do. Only called to collect money. So I've racked up bills from my PCP, a new dentist and even an ENT just to prove it wasn't caused by my ears. I've racked up THOUSANDS in dentist/medical bills due to their lack of care. DO NOT EVER GO TO TWIN DENTAL!!! Im still being harassed for a $60 payment when they have already collected $400 from me and $500 from my insurance TO PULL ONE TOOTH!! They didnt even give me pain meds, not even a low dose one until i was in so much pain. And instead of calling it to the pharmacy- they told me i had 20 minutes to get it from their office aa they close early on friidays. Never in my life have i ever paid that much for an extraction. Or had a dentist who was etremely nonchalant about what HE had done!!(Even when i didnt have a job/insurance I only paid $160 and the emergency dentist on a friday at 7pm pulled it.) i will however, send them all my bills for the year of follow up ive had to deal with for their mistake. I have included a picture from the day before the procedure - the day of, the day after, a pic when i was being weened off the medication after 6 month of high dose steroids (due to the dentist prescribing a an extreme low dose that did nothing) and two additional pictures from this year 4 months post steroids two more teeth were also shattered due to the steroids and so I was deathly scared of getting those pulled, until this morning. I had no idea that a dentist office could be caring and comforting. But shoutout to Meier dental and Cincinnati oral surgeons for extracting 3 teeth (the two shattered and my last wisdom) under anesthesia, prescribed me a pill before I went in, had antibiotics on order, Tylenol 3 on order for pain. Sent me home with an ice pack and enough gauze to last a life time. My total out of pocket $600. Insane difference. These people took my life from me for almost a year. Due to being on steroids gained ao much water weight I had Charlie horses when I walked!, I also had high blood pressure, pre diabetic along with absolutely no energy and not being able to breathe all due to the side effects of the steroids I had to take to fix what THEY did. During my very first an appointment, Dr.Brock noticed that i had very dry lips and i explained that was i on Accutane and the it was horrible trying to find something that worked. He told me about this brand called "LanoLips" and even Amazon primed my very first one to my address, which i received on 2 days time. He quite literally saved my lips lol they were breaking bad. Kind, professional and exceptional office and staff!
