My wife and I stopped in here after visiting some friends in Boulder. Get a beer, watch some beautiful women together. Maybe get a private dance or two together. As a female couple, strip clubs can be hit or miss. Some won't even allow unaccompanied women (by men) through the front door. In this case, we were allowed in but we're sort of treated like we may be "professionals" looking to pick up men. We were really watched and being so closely watched, the dancers were leery of showing any real interest in us. It wasn't a terrible experience but it wasn't as fun as it could be. Several of the dancers were strikingly beautiful and I suspect college students at the local university. I would have loved to watch them do private dances for my wife but it just didn't feel comfortable. We likely wouldn't return unless we had a few guys with us so the club relaxed about our presence. I went to Nitro with two of my girl friends, and I will say we're all attractive women, and from the second we walked in, the staff made it clear they don't want "pretty girls" there. First, a bouncer grabbed my friend's valid ID, accused her of it being fake, and refused to give it back for around 10 minutes. We nearly called the cops before he finally handed it over. Then we sat at the bar to order drinks, and a bouncer named Eric came over accusing us of crawling on the floor and stealing money from the stage... like huh how is that even possible? That's the most ridiculous accusation i've ever heard. For context, some men patrons were giving us some of their ones to tip the dancers--that's literally the point of the place. Then all of the sudden, Eric kicked us out with no explanation, shoved me so hard I almost fell, and gave no apology whatsoever. Not to mention, he was screaming and cussing at us as well. If you're a young woman and you don't want to be treated like a criminal or manhandled for no reason, stay away from Nitro and the mean bouncer. read more

350 dollars for a 15 minute VIP lap dance with a +100.00 surcharge, only topless and zero privacy as you are forced to sit next to other customers getting dances. The glasses for 10 dollar drinks are skinny and short. It's laughable. As if intentionally made to squeeze as much money out of a customer for as little alcohol as possible. Let's start this by saying I consider myself to be an attractive female. Ive been to many strip clubs many times and I am usually treated better than the male Patrons. I had read the reviews about how attractive women are treated like shit at nitro but chose to look past it and finally go in myself. I was looking to enjoy the remainder of my evening as I rarely get a night out. I sat at the bar and asked a fairly attractive bartender for a water to which in a very rude voice she put up her finger and said 'I'll be with you in a minute!' She then continued for 20 minutes to wait on other patrons who came up to the bar long after me while staring at me as if to let me know she had no intention in waiting on me. After a while another female bartender came to the bar. When she made eye contact I politely asked her if she would give me water I stated 'I don't care, I'll even pay for it I would just like some water.' She was very sweet and said 'no I'll get you water you don't need to pay for it!'. The other bartender continued to give me dirty looks the remainder of my short time there. The kind bartender deserves 5 stars but this review is solely based on the poor excuse of a bitchy bartender who is clearly insecure so she treats females like shit (I wish I had gotten her name). I can't speak for the rest of the topless bar as this alone influenced my entire review of the place. How disappointing! When all the negative reviews say the same thing you can't look past it. I've been to plenty of clubs in Fl, GA and CA, this by far is one of the best. I don't know what these bad reviews are all about here. The place is very clean, the staff very polite. I did see one person get tossed out, but he was drunk, talking really nasty and being handsy with the girls, knocked over a glass that shattered on the stage - and the staff was still very polite, cleaned up after him, then gently warned him three times about his T and A grabbing behavior before discreetly sending him away. I've never seen any guy act that obnoxious at a strip club. He was sitting next to me and kept leaning over to talk to me. Thankfully they sent one of the girls over to quietly ask if we were together (nope, never met him) so they didn't toss me out with him. The rest of the crowd there was fine. The girls were also very polite and friendly. Not greedy and needy like they are in some clubs. All very young, fit, natural and beautiful. I don't think I've been to a club with a better looking group of young women than Nitro had when I went (two days ago). They get topless early in their routines, not waiting to be tipped a certain amount or staying dressed until their third set like in some strip clubs. Often they hang out on stage topless for a few minutes after their set while the next girls get going on their dances. Very nice! They were all very pleasant to talk to and interact with. This club is topless only, they keep their thongs on. Private dances a little pricey at $30, would prefer it be $20 and then I tip well from there. $10 cover when I went. There was no drink minimum and no push to drink. Medium crowd on the Thursday night that I went, Most crowded from about 10 to midnight. Music volume was pleasant, not blaring. These reviews saying the bouncers and staff are unprofessional and rude - I don't know what that's about, I witnessed the exact opposite. This was one of the cleanest, friendliest, most professionally run clubs I've been in. The bouncers that were there were studiously polite, even with the extremely obnoxious guy that sat next to me, and every one of the girls was sweet. Nitro Club was stealthily opened in early 2008. It seems almost no one was aware of the club opening in the alley behind Pearl Street Mall until the company posted their first advertisement. What followed was general shock and outrage by the "open minded" Boulder community. You see, Nitro is a Strip club. Yes, that is right, a strip club right in the heart of downtown Boulder in the alley just behind Old Chicago's and Pearl Street Pub and Cellar. What could be a better addition to Pearl Street's Tibetan/Chic/Designer over-priced shops and mega chain restaurants than a strip club! After hearing some reviews from friends, I decided I had to experience Nitro for myself. I must point out I am not a huge fan of strip clubs; I will visit one maybe once in a six month period or for events like bachelor parties, etc. While I enjoy the experience, strip clubs have always felt more like an expensive tease to me that just leave you worse off after than you were before. Enough said on that. My partner in crime for the evening was a female friend who is bisexual and has a thing for exotic dancers. Note to all the guys out there; if possible take a female with you to strip clubs. You will get infinitely more attention and be able to take more liberties with an attractive lady by your side. We arrived at the club around 11:30 on a Saturday evening; pretty close to what would be prime time I imagine. Nitro stays open until 4 am, making the club an attractive option for bar goers who get ushered out at 2 pm. I can't remember exactly what we paid for cover, I think it might have been 15 for me and 10 for her, although I was already hammered off Sake bombs by this point and could have cared less what the cover charge was since I was not paying for the entertainment that evening. Club Nitro is divided into two sections, the regular section and a VIP Speak Easy section where you can consume alcohol. Instead of applying for a traditional liquor license, the owner of Nitro went the route of a private club where customers can bring and consume their own liquor. Like bars in Utah. You can join the Speak Easy for 45 dollars a month or ~500 a year. My friend decided to use her charm to gain us access to the Speak Easy section of the club. I am not sure exactly what she paid; but I don't think she had to come up with 45 dollars per person. Once inside the Speak Easy, the night was much more enjoyable. There is a special area next to the stage for Speak Easy members, as well as comfortable couches and a large coffee table the dancers take advantage of. My friend flirted with some of the guys to score us free drinks and we proceeded to consume more alcohol. This resulted in even more exciting lap dances as the night progressed. The Atmosphere Nitro was disappointing from an ambiance standpoint; then again it is a strip club... The weirdest part is the low ceiling and non-elevated stage. The ladies can barely climb the pole before hitting the ceiling, and it can be tough to see the floor routines unless you are right next to the stage. The Ladies I was actually presently surprised by the talent at Nitro. I had heard the women were old, and looked like life time dancers who were just working a new spot. This was not really the case, as there were several attractive young ladies dancing that evening. A handful of the girls were pretty broke, including visible bruises on their bodies and excessive stretch marks and wrinkled skin. Of the three of four attractive dancers, two of them gave very respectable lap dances. On the other end of the spectrum, one of the girls performed one of the worst lap dances I have ever received; and that is saying something! You are not normally supposed to touch the dancers, but I found this was not a requirement for my friend and I. In fact, my friend got very friendly with several of the dancers, resulting in security frequently walking by to keep things under control. We must have dropped close to $300 dollars on lap dances and tips. We did not leave the club until 3:30 in the morning. If you stay in a strip club for four hours, that is always a good sign! All in all, I would have to give Nitro 3 stars. Star 1 - A strip club right off Pearl Street Mall leaping distance from some of my favorite watering holes. Star 2 - A decent selection of attractive dancers (not comparing to Vegas obviously) and a better selection apparently than when the club first opened. Star 3 - Figuring out a loop hole to both open a strip club in Boulder and somehow allow patrons to consume liquor. A fine achievement in the true spirit of American capitalism. I have found the cut fruit they put in the drinks at the Nitro Club to be of excellent restaurant quality. A few slices of lemon and a cherry makes a satisfying and healthy light meal. (It's vegetarian too! How Boulder is that!?) While all of the music and dancing going on can sometimes be distracting, and the dress code is a little odd, I find the food to be a real draw. I first went out of curiosity. They didn't have a liquor license yet so it was a good place to hit after a night out. I have fallen in love there plenty of times there. It's a reasonable cover, and the entertainment is top notch. The amateur night was particularly fun for my friends and I. I'm pretty sure I saw a girl from my chemistry class get up and dance. I think the atmosphere is somewhat classy, nice chairs, clean, good staff. It manages to feel somewhat private even though you're surrounded by people. The management doesn't care about the quality of talent they hire, and as a result it is full of ugly, trashy, classless females who don't know their way around the pole or how to entertain. The drinks are overpriced, the front door girl is pregnant and is constantly seen smoking cigarettes outside, the female bartender never smiles and the manager will try to sell you access to a different part of the club that is usually empty for $50 a night! They're obviously hurting for money, this place is nowhere near the fun place full of beautiful women it was last year. For a long while I was a regular at Nitro. I appreciated their service industry discounts on Sundays, and even met someone there that I dated for a while. In the spirit of honesty: I'm a dancer. I dance in order to pay my rent and for my tuition. I make enough at the club where I'm at but a few months ago I wanted a change of pace that ambition eventually led me to audition at Nitro. Ultimately I was rejected, although the reasons for that were never clarified. It hurt but I accepted it. Recently I came in, for the first time since I auditioned, as a customer. After a few drinks I was accused of soliciting and ejected from the property without the opportunity to defend myself. I was not only shocked, but deeply hurt. The bartenders are great and can make good drinks quickly, the music phenomenal, the door guys are cool, and they keep the place clean. There is bottle service, a cool VIP room and a private stage which is prefect for group parties or just buy a seat for yourself and sit there tipping the dancers in front of you in your own private show. The dancers are the best part, obviously! I've been to a few places and I think these girls are the prettiest, dance beautiful routines, and are lovely to talk to. A fun, secretive environment that takes a strong hold on you pretty quickly. It's way better than the " The Penthouse" in Denver, that's for sure. The girls at the Penthouse scared me. The girls at Nitro are actually kind of cute. The stripclub is in a alley, which is OK. I was very unimpressed with this club! I came in with my boyfriend last Saturday. The music was terribly loud, couldn't hear a thing anyone said, and I'm not old and deaf. I don't know if there are rules that a dancer in the ring can't stay more than 1 min with one person, or what! That new blond, came and stated dancing in front of me, I gave a $5 to, and she immediately walked off, I was so annoyed with that, I will never go back to see that girl. I loved Rowan she has way more personality than all the other girls put together that night! She stayed the longest and I kept giving her money, but I did get a sense that she had to go too, like some manager was watching her to see how long she was staying with me. I would have loved a lap dance from her but she was never on the floor after being in the ring, what's up with that!? Oooh and the cover!! Holy crap! You charged me, a woman $6, every other dance club I've been to, girls are no cover, because I always come in with a man and spend at least a few hundred dollars. Oooh right, it gets even worse! The drinks were the weakest drinks I've ever had, for $8 a drink! I got 5 drinks and barley had a buzz. My guess is, they water there vodka down!! The chicks are really cool, some are hotter than others, but overall cute. The happy hour drink prices rocked.. Who can be $2 well drinks, lol. Now for the downer, there's a $10 cover fee, lap dances are $25 for 2-3 minutes, a 30 minute full on dance is $225 (plus a 10% commission for the club). Went there 6/27/13 for the first (and last) time. They made me check my backpack. When I left my iPad was gone from the backpack. I'm not saying that this place is filled with thieves and I'm not saying the girls weren't nice, I'm just saying that if you're naïve enough to step into this place (like I was) you get what you deserve. Nitro can be a good deal on Industry night but they rarely have good talent on the stage. Friday and Saturday nights have much better trim and raise the drink price substantially. Overall just meh. If you want to have a rowdy good time go to Shotgun Willy's or La Boheim. read more
