This little town is a little beat down but it just oozes charm! At around 10 o'clock Victorian House Antiques seemed to be the only shop open (correction: they technically open at 11 but the shop owner was in and kindly allowed us in early to look around. Extra star for him!). I love all things funky and old and this store had a pretty solid stock of every random piece of antique furniture or doo-dad you could think of. Although the shop is a tad small the entire store was expertly organized and tidy. I've been to some shops that are so crammed full of junk you're literally required to twist and bend just to get around. This was not the case here. Another pretty awesome feature is the price comparison done with some of the larger pieces. The shop will list their price along with a description of the piece and then they'll post a print-out from ebay with the pricing info and stats on a similar piece. You're essentially comparison shopping without any leg work! Although I didn't make any purchases this is definitely a store I will be making a trip back to when I'm in the market for some accent pieces. Nearly everything I saw (shelves, little cart bars, end tables, etc., etc) was in crazy good condition and very reasonably priced. Well done Victorian House Antiques!

But lo and behold, smack in the middle of High Street you'll find an expansive, thoroughly stocked 2nd hand store. My visit coincided with the beginning of the holiday season so they had an entire section devoted to all sorts of decorative Christmassy things. The variety this place has to offer is what really blew me away. Clothes are a given but it was the VHS supply, home-goods, purses, kitchen-wares and other odds and ends that really surprised me. This isn't a trendy, ironic thrift store that discriminates over what they'll accept. Faithcenter thrift store will pretty much take whatever they can get. That being said you'll have to dig through loads of the-not-that-fantastic to find something worth buying, but that's half the fun anyway!

BUT...I waited until June/July 2026 and still hadn't gotten the furniture. I had even removed a bed so it wouldn't take as long. They said they had moved locations and that caused a delay. I can't say anything about quality as I never saw the product. I want to believe this business is legitimate and does good work, but a year and a half later I cancelled my order. He didn't have the money to refund me, so I am now waiting on that. Like other said, if you have a few years before the furniture is NEEDED, maybe they're worth a shot. If you want it within a year and a half, you may be disappointed.

Walked over to Shunks and they said certainly you can use our bathroom. I shop at Dollar general all the time but I have never bought a kitchen from Shunks. If they were that kind knowing I wasn't buying anything, imagine buying a kitchen from them. I highly recommend.

The questions he had weren't rocket science, but he was treated as if he had asked the salesperson to personally drive over to look at our fireplace and offer hours of advice. When you rely on customers (as businesses do, I hear), it's generally good practice to make *some* effort. Absolutely unimpressed.
