Now I made a trek over to drop off the jacket. Why only three stars? Well, there was a hiccup in delivering the service on time. I had received a specific date and even said I can come later to give them time. Nevertheless, the day I came to pick it up, the store was closed due to some emergency. OK, I can see things happening and the need to react. The reason this was frustrating is that when I came to actually pick up the blazer (two days later with additional hassle getting there), it still wasn't done and the owner was literally finishing it as I sat and waited. Again, I can see emergencies happening but he now had had two extra days to do the work. He was polite and very apologetic about this but it really didn't make any sense that after almost 10 days, the blazer hadn't even been touched until the day it was actually promised to me. I may be back to try them out again and if the service is good, I would update this review. The actual work was really good and I am perfectly happy with the blazer. Yet, due to this experience I will definitely think twice about dropping something off here I need quickly. A shame, as I have been looking for a tailor to use regularly and because this place is out of the way, this screw-up adds just another argument against coming back.

After trying out a bunch of tailors in Hamburg, this has become my default. They are quite cheap and do really good work. I wouldn't have a suit made here (the don't do this anyway) but having pants or shirt sleeves shortened is perfect. The folks are super nice and work quickly. Prices are also very much in line with average and I would not say this place is in any way overpriced. They also offer coupons so you can easily get things even cheaper than list price. I've always managed at least 10% off. Finally, they are close to my office so for me it's a matter of convenience!
