Though a bit more than my budget - we accepted -- Sheildaig Farm B&B is absolutely adorable - a lovely stone building with 3 rooms sits across from the main building (with more rooms inside) and a gorgeous little breakfast area. Our room was a small double - but it had all the comforts we have come to expect with a typical en suite room in England & Scotland: extra blankets, electric kettle and assorted teas/instant coffee, large clean towels, tv, alarm clock and even an electric blow dryer! This little room was very tastefully decorated with an iron bedframe, black-on-white paisley decorator wallpaper, a pair of armchairs. There was even a small fridge, toaster and microwave in the little dry-bar area. There were fantastic skylights in the room - and Lesley showed me how to use a long pole to close the built in retracting shades to keep from frying like a vampire at dawn . Lesley asked me what we pair of vegans would like for breakfast - I provided a carton of tofu and in the morning - she personally made us the best tofu scramble my mom and I have ever had! Butternut squash, tomatoes, mushrooms and onions - perfectly seasoned. She also serves darned good OJ there and we had a really fantastic breakfast. Lesley also directed me to a nearby trail for my run in the morning and it was really lovely to run on dirt tracks and away from any traffic at all. I had the hills above Loch Lomond all to myself -- that was really a treat. Great B&B, warm and excellent service -- I highly recommend Sheildaig Farm B&B and would happily return.

We were in communication with Lesley and although she was out running errands when we arrived, she left the keys and instructions, so we had no problems getting into our accommodations, The Cameron Cottage. The drive up is a little narrow and scary. Once we drove it the first time, it wasn't a big deal later in the day. Definitely arrive during the daylight, so that you can see where you're driving and keep an eye out for signage, as it is a bit hard to see. I never felt like our car was going to get damaged, just that it was bumpy and narrow. The rooms are very cute and filled with basically ever amenity to make our stay comfortable- kettle, microwave, toaster, nice linens, great smelling soap and shampoo...there was even a stack of entertainment gossip magazines, which is a guilty pleasure of mine and I really enjoyed! We didn't meet Lesley until the morning. She had stopped by in the evening to say "Hi" but we mistook her knocking for a noise outside and didn't open the door until she had already left. I wish that we had met her the evening before, as she was super friendly and welcoming. The place has an overall nice vibe! Breakfast was wonderful. The Breakfast area feels more like a restaurant than a B&B. The tables were set up in a room with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking their back garden. Very pretty! The food was delicious too. There was a cold bar with cereals, juice and yogurt. Lesley also did made-to-order breakfasts. We really enjoyed our stay at Sheildaig Farm and recommend it to those visiting the area.

The house is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the metro stop is just a short walk from the front door, and the owners, Marion and Frank are some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet...it was the perfect place to spend our 2 nights in Glasgow. There is so much to do within walking distance from Ashton, it is the perfect place for those looking to explore Glasgow. The breakfast offerings were coffee or tea, cereals and yogurt, freshly cut fruit, toast, and croissants...no eggs or other hot offerings but sometimes you just can't have everything! Our room was on the small side and Marion offered to let us switch rooms on the second night but for us it was just fine as we really weren't in it much anyways! We shared a bathroom with the room next door which can be a bit awkward at times but everyone staying was very polite and we made it work. Marion even let us park our rental car around back for our stay which we were very grateful for. One notable downside is that they don't offer wi-fi at all which, for us, was a bit of a bummer...but we made do on our phones. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Ashton Glasgow, the location and the hospitality would be very difficult to beat!

We were greeted with a cup of tea and a glass of beer on our arrival and even homemade shortbread. We had a beautiful room and a lounge for our personal use where I could help myself to a wee dram. Breakfast was served overlooking farmland behind the house with sheep and pheasants roaming before a great panorama of Ayr, Prestwick and the Ayshire countryside. They looked after us from arriving until leaving and it felt like staying over at a friends house. Thanks guys. The only difficult thing was leaving.

Room: Gorgeous! With a super comfy wooden framed bed, squishy pillows and a big fluffy duvet, bliss! There is a wee honesty box and a basket of water, chocolate and crisps. There is a decent sized kettle, a hair dryer and plenty of drawers to put your belongings in along with a cupboard with a rail. The room is a decent size and absolutely immaculate. The towels are fluffy and the shower has a decent flow and gets nice and hot. The shower gel and shampoo smell amazing! I'm going to ask where they are from so I can get some. There is one tiny drawback about the room and it's the location. It's right next to the front door and the dining room so you hear people, chatting and checking in. I think this room is a great option for somebody who may struggle to get upstairs but I think you should be asked if you mind having the room because of it's location. Don't get me wrong nobody has been over loud but you are aware of the people passing the room. One other wee thing, the selection of tea, coffee and hot choc is great and this is just a personal thing it would be nice to have maybe some peppermint or fruit tea in the options too. Breakfast: lush! You get a piece of paper the night before and circle the things you want on your cooked breakfast. There is a continental option too. In the dining room there is an assortment of cereals, yogurt and fruit. The bacon is yummy, really thick slices and really tasty. You get a decent sized portion. I ate over 4 hours ago and I'm not even peckish :-) Highly recommended! We will be back

The breaksfasts are delicious and very filling. We stayed in the double en suite room with views out over the garden. There was a television, small bathroom with shower and tea and coffee making facilities. Can't say we were hugely impressed with the UHT milk, but otherwise it was wonderful. It was a very peaceful place considering being in the centre of Stirling. The rates were very reasonable and we were made very welcome and very comfortable during our stay. The other guests were wonderful too. We will most likely go back there again too.
