I even gave her an example of a dog she grooms on my same street and told her not to give him the same haircut. Lo and behold, she basically gave my Maltese a buzz cut, where the pink of his skin is visible from 3 feet away. Not only was it not what I asked for, but a groomer should be knowledgeable enough to understand that a dog's hair protects the skin from irritants, scratches, and helps regulate his body temperature. His hair was a bit tangled (not matted) on his chest, and she felt that the only way to make the cut even around his body was to shave his entire body off. I wish she at least told me that she was not going to spend the time to comb out the tangled hair or that she couldn't do the job, rather than cutting his hair so low. Over the years I've dealt with groomers who spent the time to remove tangles. She also did a botched haircut job around his feet and didn't even shape the hair around his foot. This has been absolutely the worst haircut my dog has ever gotten in eight years - even worse than when I've done it myself. I will NEVER use this groomer again as she only knows one way and that is to shave everything extremely low. If that's all you need, then you will have no issues. If you're looking for actual grooming skills, look elsewhere. I have no doubt that other groomers working for this company do a great job from the looks of photos and reviews. But the groomer I saw was NOT DARWIN as mentioned in other reviews but unfortunately the groomer I saw represents the company so the rating has to be given to the company.
