The pictures turned out awful! I am thin and I do not have a double chin. In the pictures Roddy took, I do. My daughter isn't looking at the camera in most of the pics. You cannot even tell I have make-up on because the lighting is so bad. My hair is a mess in the pictures as well. In one picture my daughter is straddling my husband in a dress. My family members have also commented on the quality of the pictures and I have no desire to have any of them printed. I wasted $400 on pictures I'll never use. Walmart's picture studio does a better job than Roddy did.

I especially am used to being behind the scenes, not the muse so to speak. In short, we are both very stiff and awkward in front of the camera! Scott managed to not only make us relax and look natural, he took artistic shots that please my painter's eye. Both my husband and I have experience modeling and are no stranger to the camera, so when we say that Kathleen is great to work with, it holds water! Avery went above and beyond for my destination wedding in New Orleans. She is also based in NYC, where we live, so meeting up was easy. When you meet Avery, you will be warmed by her large smile, and within her photography, you can see her eye for detail and composition. As an artist myself, I was very picky about what kind of artist I wanted to use for my wedding photography- Avery specializes in street photography, which means she can catch beautiful candid moments all through your special day. Even those family members or those shy friends who are not photogenic- Avery will catch them smiling and smiling well! The day of my wedding was hectic, and Avery was as cool as a cucumber and quick as a tiger. We had this cool eye contact across rooms and it was like she could read my mind while trying to take family portraits and traditional wedding photos. I found Red M Studio through a Reddit recommendation from another couple who loved their photos, and after seeing their work, I immediately understood why. We wanted to support a small business, loved their aesthetic, and knew we needed professionals who could capture something intimate and nontraditional without turning it into a production. Leading up to the day, Marianne & Steve were incredibly organized and thoughtful. We had both a phone call and a Zoom meeting where they walked through every detail to make sure nothing was missed. They even used Google Maps to virtually walk us through the French Quarter and talk through locations and timing. That level of preparation made us feel completely at ease. Our original plan was to elope, but as anyone who tries to elope in New Orleans learns, that rarely stays small. What unfolded was a joyful, intimate gathering we lovingly called our "not a wedding."
