Our original plan was to elope, but as anyone who tries to elope in New Orleans learns, that rarely stays small. What unfolded was a joyful, intimate gathering we lovingly called our "not a wedding." Class Act... from start to finish !…read more We flew into New Orleans a few months before the wedding to meet with various vendors (photographers, bakeries, florists, event venues for rehearsal dinner and more). Being perfectionists, it makes us picky; we met with a few photographers in preparing for our destination wedding and although each impressed us, they unfortunately also unimpressed us each time (high marks for 1 aspect but disappointed at the same time by not hearing our ideas, being unclear with their thoughts/ideas, drinking too much during the interview/meeting, having virtually no experience)... UNTIL, we met Kendra ! She arrived at the Roosevelt Hotel on time; just ten minutes into our first meeting with Kendra reassured us that our first impression was overwhelming and our search was over; even went as far as canceling our last 2 interviews immediately after meeting with her... She dressed classy, spoke well, clearly explained her process but most importantly, she listened and understood what we wanted. A few days later, negotiating our contract over the phone from Florida was a simple process and there was no pressure to add more services or other packages. The day of our wedding arrived and we met with Kendra at our hotel (Le Pavillon) to take "first look" photographs; then Kendra joined my fiancé and I and headed over to the French Quarter for interesting photo-opportunities (dancing in the street, inside shops we love and even got some amazing pictures when a Second Line was passing by). And then the special event at Antiones (down the aisle, exchanging the rings, family members shedding a few happy tears, then married). One look at their website and I was sold. They have numerous photo galleries, clear pricing, and an informative FAQ. I made my appointment online, with no hassles an eagerly awaited my big day. On the day of my "shoot" I prepared all of sexy lingerie, dazzling jewelry, and other assorted props that I knew would showcase my personality. It was fun to channel my inner Kate Moss and feel like a supermodel on the way to a gig. When I arrived at the studio, I immediately knew that I was about to be treated to a high end experience. The studio is a beautiful New Orleans home that is not necessarily converted into a sterile photography workplace. It maintains the charm and romance. I was greeted by Latoya and Skye who allowed me a glass of champagne while I browsed the lingerie display. I knew ahead of time that I wanted to purchase a corset and I was cinched into the perfect one! Once I made my corset selection, I slipped into a robe for hair and make up. Latoya discussed several options of how to style my hair and what make up would suit me best. The girl was amazing. My concern, as a girl who wears little make up, was that I would look like a clown. That was definitely not the case. It was as it she knew me for years and she created a sultry, smoky look without being harsh. When she was done, I was given to Skye, my photographer. She was a sweetheart and provided great tunes to move to. She knew what positions to pose me in to complement my best features and suggested different shoes, panties and jewelry to get the most flattering shots. Skye has a dynamic rock star personality and she made me feel like I was Claudia Schiffer. There were two staging rooms; one was sweet and dainty with pink satin sheets, the other was dark and heavy with black satin and a black velvet chaise lounge. We spent about two and a half to three hours in four different looks. Then we did a mini-session of "fine art." By this point I was ready for anything, and I knew I needed to experience the nude shots. What a rush! I was sad when it was over, but terribly excited to see the outcome. I scheduled my consult (photo viewing) for about a week later. There were several issues, which were my fault, with the scheduling; but it all worked out perfect because they were willing to work with me and reschedule me twice. All it took was a phone call and everything was reset. When it finally came time to view the shots, I was floored. I consulted with Valerie, and thank God she was there. There were about 150 images to choose from! I was like a vain girl in a mirror store! After about an hour of deliberation, Valerie helped me narrow it down to 12 amazing photos. She was very patient with my indecisiveness and displayed the photos in a way to help me make the best choice. This was a fabulous place and I recommend every girl unleash that bit of Cindy Crawford that lives inside us all.

I was a destination bride living in Texas, with a father in Baton Rouge fighting cancer, trying to plan my wedding in New Orleans. I had quite a few hurdles. I found Carol through word of mouth. Carol is a native of New Orleans with 15 years in event planning, including large corporate events and with the past 8 years in weddings. She has a large network and strong connections with local vendors. She is creative and determined. She is professional and caring. I had already found my venue when I contacted Carol, who then helped me find my band, florist, cake baker, makeup artist, hair stylist and ceremony music players, etc. She helped plan the rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon and the day of the wedding. Carol did all the things that I was unable to do for myself. She provided me with options and quotes, helped me to determine the most reasonable budget without sacrificing quality. I would make visits to NOLA during the wedding planning; Carol would arrange all my appointments and take me to meet with vendors. She help me pick out colors for my bridesmaid dresses, colors and types of flowers, venue decor, venue favors, invitations, gift ideas, etc. 5 days before my wedding, Hurricane Isaac hit New Orleans. Can you imagine the stress? Carol kept my sanity intact. Carol was without electricity for several days, and was still working behind the scenes to followup with my vendors...(i.e. had they had evacuated, were they safe, would they have power to cook our food, would my flowers be delivered and would the flowers survive without refrigeration?) I had to most amazing wedding. Everything came together beautifully. There were many NOLA brides that weekend without flowers, no makeup artists, no catering, etc. I was very blessed to have everything, to have my dream wedding. I am sincerely grateful to Carol; I could not have done it without her.

We ended up opting for the package that included 5 hours of advance planning, which was helpful, and Carol also had great recommendations for florists and cake. She ended up letting my borrow a few votives and a sign to use as part of my decorations, which was really helpful! I honestly don't know how I would have managed without her, especially at the wedding itself. She seamlessly coordinated everything and I was able to kick back and truly enjoy the reception.
