There were problems checking out and Elaine,…read morethe manager, didn't give us a form listing the costs of not having the apartment fully clean until AFTER we turned in our keys. I had been there over ten years and knew the carpet and the broken dishwasher (missing a piece since they installed it and then leaked) were bad so I didn't request any security deposit back. I had asked for more time but the person at White Property Management didn't communicate that to Elaine. I exchanged another email or two with WPM, asking if our business was concluded. They had my email and phone number but not a new address as I moved out of town. In April I received a letter from a collection agency saying I owed money but not why. I was able to get a printout of the bill from WPM and it was dated March 10, 2020. There had been zero attempt to call or email because "we only mail out these bills." They didn't even give my phone number to the collection agency. I don't dispute I owed money but I did ask WPM if I owed anything shortly after we moved. I have a problem with being turned over to collections without notice.
