**THIS PLACE NOW GOES BY THE NAME OAK PARK APARTMENTS**…read more Now that that's out of the way, let's begin describing this hell-hole. The property manager seems like a nice lady, but she is never really here. She is also terrible at handling the maintenance of this property. My apartment has several MAJOR issues and from what I hear is not the only one. First of all, I pray that there isn't a few days of heavy rain because if so, the living room will be soaked with rain water. It is a slow process that has happened about 3 times now during days where it rains non-stop. The carpet is now fonky...yes FONKY, not funky, and is a dirty brown color. The walls are also beginning to grow this brown moldy gunk. I notified them of the problem and their joke of a "maintenance" team was dispatched. The guy looked around, put some kind of coating around the glass patio door that was supposed to patch it, and left. This was after I first noticed the problem. Of course, a couple of weeks later there is another heavy rain. The problem is still there. "Maintenance" is dispatched again and this time admits he has no idea where the water is coming from and has no idea how to fix it. Basically I am stuck with this moist apartment until my lease is up. Thank God I only did 6 months. I reported the problem and its seriousness once again and was told that a carpet cleaner would be sent out. Ok, fine. At least SOMETHING seems to be getting done. Well, I was never notified of the exact day or time that this was supposed to take place, The carpet cleaner pops up on a weekend morning when no one in my family was expecting him or prepared to evacuate the premises. He says he can just reschedule with the manager. Ok...no big deal, right?.....WRONG. I call the manager asking to see when the guy is coming back. Apparently he "does not come back just to do one apartment." WTF? I told her I didn't know he was coming and my family wasn't really in a situation to let him in at the moment and he told me it wouldn't be a problem for him to come back. She responds with "well he's not coming back. we had 3 other units scheduled that day, too, with the same leak issue but only one person let him in for some reason." WELL GEE! YOU DON'T THINK IT'S BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T NOTIFY ANYONE AND NO ONE WAS PREPARED? She swears she sent out notes and acts like it's MY FAULT! She then gives me his number and says I CAN CALL HIM! WTF? I call the guy and of course he says, "the manager has to set that up...and I don't usually come out just to do one apartment". So at this point I'm like do neither of you morons seem to think it's strange that there was an appointment set up for multiple apartments with water leaks and only ONE person let the guy in? AFTER WE OBVIOUSLY SAID WE NEEDED THE CARPET CLEANED DUE TO LEAKS?! After that incident I knew I was done with this place. I could have demanded to be moved to another unit, but I said I'd tough this out. It's only a 6 month lease that's more than half over. No point in moving to a new unit only to move right back out a month later. Besides that, there is a non-stop roach problem. I have lived in multiple apartments in this city, and this is the only one that has had this kind of problem with roaches. They are everywhere and never stop coming in. I don't know if they are coming from a neighbor constantly or what. They have sent pest control multiple times but it is not working. Also, the air vents seem to be connected to multiple apartments. I unfortunately have a neighbor on some side of me that smokes marijuana every day of their lives. The smell is so strong in my apartment I fear I may get a contact high. This is just ridiculous. I have kids in here. It is just my mission to get out of this hell. I have never been so unsatisfied with an apartment. And I have lived in some that most would consider poverty level! The appliances are old, the breakers constantly go out, most of the power outlets are not functioning or loose in the walls, there is only one cable line in the whole apartment and I couldn't have another one added. This isn't a big deal to me because I don't have cable but it is still an inconvenience because you have to set your furniture up in a certain way to use the cable wire. I do use it for internet. The walls are so thin I can hear the guy snoring like an ox in the apartment next to me every damn night. I'm listening to it as I write this as a matter of fact. They also blast their radio at random times...even at 3am. You will hear very detailed conversations from the neighbors. You will hear and smell them cooking. You will hear if they have sex. The people don't even have enough pride in the premises to pick up their trash if they miss the dumpster! They just leave it out there! The wash area is also disgusting. People just leave clothes in there for days! Did they get arrested or something? Search elsewhere, people! Looks are deceiving!

I have lived at these apartments for 5 miserable years. The only reason I have stayed as long as I…read morehave is because it's very expensive moving out. Everyone who states that living here has been great has either been paid for their fake review or only mentions the office and maintenance. Which by the way the maintenance workers have changed so many times that once you learn their name they are gone. Do you enjoy having your bathroom flooded 4-5 inches of water? more than once? Then move in here. Do you enjoy moldy vents? Then move in here. Do you enjoy NO UPDATES and worn out cabinets etc? Then move in here. Do you enjoy paying outrageous amounts for water, sewage, trash and having a billing fee added on top of that? Then move in. You can't budget because of these charges. Do you enjoy having no privacy as they removed the privacy deck? Funny how they have not updated photos to show those are missing. Do you enjoy TRYING TO MOVE OUT and are tacked on fees even though you have provided proof, as in renters insurance?? Do you enjoy not having a call returned because they are throwing a pity party because you want out? Then move in here. Do you enjoy flooded parking lot because of the way the concrete was laid? Then move in. Do you enjoy having your personal belongings ruined due to rainwater only to be told they cant control the weather?? Then move in. No matter how well you clean when you do move out... they will keep your deposit and then bill you additional. BEWARE..... So expensive for what you get, you will be disappointed. Find anywhere else you can to live and you'll thank me later.

Worst experience I have ever had. When I moved in there was a hole in the tub, the fridge stopped…read moreworking, the water tank was discharging rusted water and then the air conditioner stopped working the last six months that I lived there. The cabinets were disintegrating when I moved and and that was never repaired. I was told alternatively that the rusted water was normal, to just run the water until it is clear for half a year before it finally failed. Management never upheld their end of the contract. I only lived here for one year thankfully. I am leaving this as a warning. All of the positive reviews about thia place are fake.
