The beef ribs also catched my interest but I couldn't resist to try out the Ramen and with that there was no stomach room left for the ribs. Plus my last beef rips experience (not in this restaurant) wasn't that great. The ramen really looked and tasted authentic! They hit the flavours and the ramen egg was done well. Maybe a tad too salty but it was marinated and cooked properly which I can't even say for some Japanese run ramen restaurants in Germany. The Katsu Bao reminded me of China meets Japan meets Vietnam meets Korea. The Bao (China) fluffy and slightly sweet, the Katsu (Japan) crispy, the sweet sour pickeled carrot and fresh cilantro (Vietnam) and finally the Kimchi (Korea) for a sour spicy note. The homemade ice tea was good too. SERVICE A bunch of cool and friendly guys were rockin this place during my visit. I was the first one to arrive for lunch and expected the service to be fast. No complaints. ATMOSPHERE Industrial and modern look. A dark color theme with some Japanese pictures on the wall and an open kitchen. I like it. RATING So why just four stars? First I wanted to give full five stars but I the last star to me is something personal. The restaurant needs to scream amazing to me and unfortunately it didn't. Everything was really good. The ramen was even better than some Japanese run places I have been to. The problem to me is not the food. It is the flair. The restaurant and its menu wants to sell their customers Japan. The food is there but I just don't get the Japanese vibes and this has nothing to do that none of them was Japanese. You can sell the Japanese feel without being Japanese. It starts with the decoration. While they had some elements they were kinda lost. This restaurant could be anything really. The atmosphere didn't emit Japanese vibes of an Izakaya either. I still can recommend this place and will come back to test more.

Authentic Japanese, real solid ramen…read more The spicy chicken ramen really hit the spot, savory broth and perfectly cooked noodles. I was surprised how thick and umami the broth tasted. The takoyaki were also delicious, only wish they came with 6 and not 4. The chicken wings, another home run. The gyoza were a bit on the soggy side, perhaps maybe another 30 seconds in the pan would've made them perfect. Also try the various fruit teas, not too sweet and perfect to wash down the hot noodles with.

The baozi were excellent, very fluffy dough which was a tiny bit sweet, just like it's supposed to be, and the filling was also amazing. I also loved the Di San Xian and the mushrooms, and while I don't eat meat, the Mapo Tofu was apparently also delicious. The tofu also came smoking hot, with the oil still bubbling while it was being brought to the table. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere too, the interior is nice and I lived that there was quiet instrumental music playing. The staff was also friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for the food (although since the restaurant was very empty as we had dinner very early, there's a possibility this could be different when it's busy). Overall, the only thing I think could have been better is that I would have loved a few more vegetarian options. I am aware, that even in China a lot of restaurants focus much more on meat and fish dishes, but there are also so many delicious vegetarian dishes. I'll definitely be back, and next time I want to try the wild garlic with egg and the vegetarian noodles :)

By then, our stomachs were growling and we were ready for a 3 course meal. If you're an avid tea drinker (and you like it sweet), you'll enjoy their ginger tea. They add a special very sweet berry to the tea, which gives it an incredible sweet/spicy flavor. I had 3 - 4 cups of tea and I'd go back for that anytime. We started out with Eggplants with Groundbeef and the Bao Zi with Pork. On the Bao Zi, I skipped the sauce that they provide and opted for Soy Sauce and their spicy sauce. Both were good, but the Bao Zi I prefer. For the main course I had the Rindfleisch XO (beef with vegetables and an exotic sauce), which was phenomenal. My partner had the traditional sweet and sour chicken, which was good as well. The interesting thing is that they serve the fried chicken separate from the sauce, so that the chicken doesn't get all soggy. That was a nice spin. When we were all done, we were presented with the bill and a pile of chocolate candy, finishing our 3-course meal. Other plus: super friendly service. Parking seemed to work out alright on a Sunday afternoon. Also, they took EC cards.
