I first came in has doubt to this restaurant. It is a pub? Offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has a big list of food, would there be good? I ordered schnitzel with mash potatoes and veggies. Friends took veggie and quinoa with skillet, also pancakes. It came out everything is serve hot and good! The waitress is very friendly and detail to provide clean plate for pancakes to share. Washroom maintains very clean on both ground and second floor. There is street parking.

From the beginning of this decade I've been travelling across this province, usually eastward bound, not only have I been able to realize that life exists outside Toronto I've realized many of these smaller Ontario towns I've stopped over in have one thing in common GOOD FOOD!, and this place is one of those restaurants I've found in this small Eastern Ontario town. For starters it is on a quiet intersection in what I'm told is the down town, the drinks are Grrreat mine tasted like a Sour apple martini. And then you have the food I had the coconut curry chicken it was spectacular and the rice comes on a shell whats more they have a huge multi panel TV that you can see no matter where you sit.

ordered the teriyaki chicken stir fry. rice tasted undercooked, chicken had a lot of chewy fat in it, and the food was lukewarm. my friends' food looked delicious though. top tier customer service & the ambiance was moody and nicely lit.

I've been here a few times on my trips to Port Hope. I will have to say each time it's been great. One this place looks like a little pub tucked away off the Main Street. You may think from the outside you are just getting your regular burger and fries but check out their menu. Surf and Turf specials, Yorkshire curry pie, etc. it's got everything. I have opted most of the time for the surf n turf since you absolutely can't beat the price. Especially on their Friday and Saturday specials. It's great! Better than the steak was the pasta with a lobster tail. So much food! Also the staff is wonderful, our Scottish server made us feel completely at home. Wonderful staff every time I've been.

    New, beautiful ambience!!

This is a beautiful new find in the quaintest town in Southern Ontario. Nookie's Soul Kitchen offers an interesting menu I can't wait to explore. Beautiful interior features booth seating and a welcoming, calming ambience. There's a huge TV for sports fans and a beautiful draught display with a number of choices. It's refreshing to find a place like this in Port Hope. It's different from everywhere else, but still keeps the feel of the town in it's heart. Give it a try.

When my wife and I were going to be making a random stop in Belleville for a couple nights, I did…read moremy thing and looked up what to do and eat while in town. I'm from an even smaller town, so I'm used to short lists for those things, but I was glad when I randomly came across The Lark. It wasn't on one of the review sites or a travel blog, but just simply perusing the downtown landscape on Google Maps. Their space on Bridge Street is airy and spacious, but the small footprint keeps things intimate, with a stunning bar that beckons to slake your thirst. Although the restaurant's name isn't on-the-nose Italian, the menu is very much so. With a handful each of primi, secondi and dolci, chances are that you won't suffer from choice paralysis while ordering, but what they have is nonetheless quite enticing. Burrata is always an easy choice, especially at a restaurant like The Lark where you know you're going to get good quality cheese and accoutrements. They didn't disappoint! The milky, semi-solid cheese paired well with tender hunks of sweet butternut squash and the crisp savouriness of fried sage. Pomegranate seeds and hazelnuts brought some sweetness and crunch, while house-made sourdough was good enough to be eaten on its own. For my main, I went with the beef cheek pappardelle. The succulent shreds of cheek took the place of ground beef in the rich Bolognese, and my taste buds were all the better for it. The fresh pappardelle was luxuriously tender, with its delicate folds sopping up all that delicious sauce. Rounded out with parm and basil, it shows that you don't have to recreate the wheel to make an excellent dish. My wife's brown butter gnocchi was no slouch either, with a decadent cream sauce, and nice hint of char to the lovely and light pasta pillows. Not to be beaten, the apple cobbler was absolutely amazing. Definitely sized for two, but no judgment if you solo it, every part was fall dessert perfection. Service was wonderfully knowledgeable on the food and drink side, as well as friendly and easygoing. I was getting strong owner-vibes, but I'm too lazy to do the amount of Googling required for a confirm. The Lark is getting done dirty by the algorithm on the major review sites and if they won't loudly announce their possession of the title as "best restaurant in Belleville", I sure will.

I've gone back again since my first time visiting to try a few more things. The Beef Cheek Pappardelle was my overall favourite, but the Beef short rib was a close second. It's a cute little spot in downtown Belleville with a nice ambience. There's lots of street parking available nearby or there's a big lot that's very walkable. Service was great, we even got the bartenders choice for the drinks and it was really well done. If you're ever in the Belleville area and are looking for a spot to have dinner, this is definitely the place.

There was no one at any tables. There did not appear to be any lights on inside (including the lights of the "Open" sign on the door). There was one older gentleman standing inside, glaring out the window while talking on a phone, but that just made us uneasy to approach the door. Drove by around 7:30pm the same Saturday night. The "Open" sign was lit, but the place looked empty.

It came with brisket, pulled pork , sausage , chicken, ribs and two sides. The Corn bread melts in your mouth , and the mac and cheese side would even be perfect as a main ! My cocktail "smoke and mirrors", had a strong pear taste with a full brandy body. Definitely needs another staff member or two as the drink specialist was also serving the whole restaurant, taking orders and greeting. Including the outside. Although at times we were waiting , for example to pay as it got busier although we waited a while for our bill and drink refills but, it never felt excessively long even with this crutch. Price for quantity, taste , and its classy ambience and style make this place a must go in St. Catharines, even the whole Niagara Region !

Menu is a tad over priced, but I can't deny it tastes good. Not overly salty or oily as bar food often is, and I actually really enjoyed their pasta. It's definitely a great place to go for a bit of a splurgy night with friends where you're prepared to pay $20-40 per person. I like it for a date night to have some heavier foods that I wouldn't want to try cooking at home. The short rib pappardelle was the best. I love the flavour and it's not too crazy heavy, even though it looks really creamy. It has very beef stew type vibes. The chicken wings were well cooked and still moist. I think it was too much flavour going on though. You LOVE the first and even second wing. But by the third one, I felt like it was getting too heavy. I know though that a lot of people love that and can't get enough of it. I personally don't like too much of any one thing. The brussel sprouts I felt the same. It's really yum for the first few bites but it gets really heavy after a while. I think it's really fun to have the appetizers and share a main with someone. The foods are a bit heavier, more of a flavour bomb, but everything is executed well and the staff are really nice! We've even done take out and the portions were very much the same.
