Issue was with portion size - ridiculously small. Main dishes are appetizer servings size - I know we're going through rough times - but don't rip your guests off... we stopped by McDonalds afterwards :( Underwhelmed - underserved.

Each dish has elevated twist, and the price is so reasonable and even generous for the quality. Cocktails are excellent (lots of line-ups). They also serve nice choices of local craft beers on tap. We ordered: (Food) #Cast Iron Baked Brie fresh baked brie with house-made wild berry compote, candied pecans, prosciutto, garlic crostini $17 : This served as perfect appetizer for 3 of us. Enjoyable. Variety of ways to enjoy the baked brie. #Canadian Striploin 7oz striploin, garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables: We tried different & great steak dish here before, and this one is also EXCELLENT - the on-point seasonings, perfectly med-rare. Roasted veggies and mashed potato leave its own flavour and texture with right amount of seasonings. #Stuffed Mushroom Ravioli stuffed with wild mushrooms, tossed in a beurre blanc sauce, topped with fresh Parmesan: I wished the ravioli itself had more mushroom-forward flavor, and the wrapper had more delicacy (in terms of thickness and texture). However, I loved the beurre Blanc sauce - it was foamy - making the butter-ly and creamy sauce feel light in the mouth. Nice hint of tangy-ness. #Herb Crusted Salmonwith garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables, and beurre blanc sauce: The same sauce as ravioli, that matched with salmon well. (Cocktails) #Fig Fizz: With Durham distillery Gin, Raspberry Liqueur, fig jam, lemon juice, honey syrup, soda # Lavender cosmopolitan # Passion Prosecco Martini # Spicy Hibiscus Margarita All the cocktails were presented beautifully. Today's highlight was Spicy Hibiscus Margarita. (Dessert) Chocolate Espresso Martini Cake rich vanilla cake, mascarpone, house-made chocolate espresso mousse $10: Essentially, tiramisu. lol. Nicely presented. This place is versatile for us. Just for snack, just for cocktails, just for local beer, and elevated food experiences. Promising satisfying experience in each occasion. So blessed to have this place in my neighbourhood.

When my wife and I were going to be making a random stop in Belleville for a couple nights, I did…read moremy thing and looked up what to do and eat while in town. I'm from an even smaller town, so I'm used to short lists for those things, but I was glad when I randomly came across The Lark. It wasn't on one of the review sites or a travel blog, but just simply perusing the downtown landscape on Google Maps. Their space on Bridge Street is airy and spacious, but the small footprint keeps things intimate, with a stunning bar that beckons to slake your thirst. Although the restaurant's name isn't on-the-nose Italian, the menu is very much so. With a handful each of primi, secondi and dolci, chances are that you won't suffer from choice paralysis while ordering, but what they have is nonetheless quite enticing. Burrata is always an easy choice, especially at a restaurant like The Lark where you know you're going to get good quality cheese and accoutrements. They didn't disappoint! The milky, semi-solid cheese paired well with tender hunks of sweet butternut squash and the crisp savouriness of fried sage. Pomegranate seeds and hazelnuts brought some sweetness and crunch, while house-made sourdough was good enough to be eaten on its own. For my main, I went with the beef cheek pappardelle. The succulent shreds of cheek took the place of ground beef in the rich Bolognese, and my taste buds were all the better for it. The fresh pappardelle was luxuriously tender, with its delicate folds sopping up all that delicious sauce. Rounded out with parm and basil, it shows that you don't have to recreate the wheel to make an excellent dish. My wife's brown butter gnocchi was no slouch either, with a decadent cream sauce, and nice hint of char to the lovely and light pasta pillows. Not to be beaten, the apple cobbler was absolutely amazing. Definitely sized for two, but no judgment if you solo it, every part was fall dessert perfection. Service was wonderfully knowledgeable on the food and drink side, as well as friendly and easygoing. I was getting strong owner-vibes, but I'm too lazy to do the amount of Googling required for a confirm. The Lark is getting done dirty by the algorithm on the major review sites and if they won't loudly announce their possession of the title as "best restaurant in Belleville", I sure will.

I've gone back again since my first time visiting to try a few more things. The Beef Cheek Pappardelle was my overall favourite, but the Beef short rib was a close second. It's a cute little spot in downtown Belleville with a nice ambience. There's lots of street parking available nearby or there's a big lot that's very walkable. Service was great, we even got the bartenders choice for the drinks and it was really well done. If you're ever in the Belleville area and are looking for a spot to have dinner, this is definitely the place.

It's a small but charming…read morerestaurant in Whitby with cottage-core vibes: cozy lighting, warm decor, and an intimate feel. Our server was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, walking us through the entire menu and explaining their Come For Dinner option, which is essentially a tasting menu. While it sounded tempting, we decided to order à la carte. We had the brussel sprout toast, crispy squid, duck liver mousse, rye cavatelli (pasta), sablefish, fries, and short rib. The standouts were definitely the brussel sprout toast and the rye cavatelli. I'm a huge brussel sprouts fan, so I knew I'd love the toast. They really load it up, and it's a crispy delight. I'd never had rabbit before, so I was a little nervous about the cavatelli, but the flavour was great. The sablefish came with a sweet sauce/paste that made the dish really unique and memorable. And the short rib was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly. The only dish I didn't love was the liver mousse--the texture just wasn't for me, a bit too mushy. But the buckwheat waffles it came with were delicious! Overall, the dishes at this quaint spot are unique, inventive, and clearly crafted with care. It's definitely a great choice for the foodie friend or anyone who wants to try something new.
