To just be good enough for myself to be proud of my own accomplishments from re-parenting myself and gaining some self worth..The first huge step forward was to realize I kept choosing partners that had characteristics of my mother who I never felt good enough for... She helped us through one of the toughest parts of my life. We started with a few get to know you sessions, my daughter played with toys and we gained a lot of knowledge about PCIT- Parent Child Interaction Therapy. This type of therapy was what helped us turn a bad situation into a manageable one. PCIT helped us with how to handle tantrums, challenging behaviors and simply how to make our stressed out kid feel great and loved even though another baby was invading her space lol. Dr. Brittany is personable, down to earth and knowledgeable. If you are considering seeing her or contemplating the PCIT course-do it. You won't regret it. Thank you sooo much!

The topic…read moreshe focused on was positive behavior supports, which falls in line with positive discipline. She taught us how to appropriately address unfavorable behaviors in the moment and how to replace them with pro-social behaviors. I learned a lot in the short one hour she was with us. Michelle is very knowledgeable in her field, but more importantly, she is so kind and easy to talk to.

Michelle's services are invaluable. I'd read every book, article, website on sleep....and yet…read morestill struggled for 15 months to get my baby to sleep. I needed HELP. As an Attachment Parent, I was initially very opposed to sleep training or any type of cry-it-out methods. I was worried that it would cause emotional harm to my baby, and it didn't seem in line with my values as a parent. However after consulting with Michelle, I felt empowered and confident with moving forward with her sleep training plan. We talked about my specific goals for my daughter (sleep!), and she was empathetic and understanding of my concerns. Through her assessment and specific questions, we were able to pin-point the problem areas and identify my comfort level for the process. She then outlined a simple, tailored plan based on my goals: help teach my daughter self-soothing and independent sleep, while still maintaining my Attachment values. Her plan addressed my concerns, and she clearly explained the science behind her process and how it aligns with the AAP facts and guidelines. Per her recommendations we made some adjustments to our baby's sleep setup, and started on our sleep training plan days after receiving it. Since my daughter was older than the typical sleep training baby, I was preparing myself for a several week-long process.....and was shocked to see incredible results after just 2 DAYS! By the 3rd day, she was sleeping independently within 5 minutes, and slept for 11 hours straight. By the 4th day, 12 hours. And, I myself hadn't experienced sleep like that in 15 months, and was practically tearful with gratitude. I wholeheartedly feel that having a simple, guided, step-by-step plan that we felt comfortable with gave my husband & I the confidence to execute it correctly and successfully. It's now been over two months of successful sleeping, all attributed to following Michelle's customized sleep plan. I've since completely revised my stance on sleep training. Babies need emotional support, but babies also need sleep. Michelle's tailor-made, yet simple plan showed me that it IS possible to have an empathetic, attachment-friendly method of teaching babies to sleep while still responding to their emotional needs. Her science-based method was effective, but done in a way that aligned with my values as an Attachment Parent. She is empathetic, patient, and provided a clear plan that WORKED! I can't say enough positives about our experience working with Michelle.
