I got sick on a Sunday night. Tested negative for Covid. Tested + on Monday. Called the Norcross office on Tuesday for a Plaxlovid prescription. I was told by the man on the phone that it was "too late". It wasn't. You have 5 days to take the drug. I called back to talk with a NP (who are the only people I deal with at this point) and was told they wouldn't be available until later in the week. I missed out on 2 weeks of work/wages because of Covid. Plaxlovid probably would've cut that time in half. If they give you the runaround about this prescription, INSIST on them giving it to you! read more

I have been going to Naples med for approximately 10 years under the care of dr. Nash. Unfortunately dr nash retired last year. I decided to stay due to the great staff at the front. I have seen dr norcross many times over the last year. I never felt like he really took the time to listen He's cocky and pushy . Today was the final straw. Not an ideal ideal doctor experience. Advise not getting involved with their frustrating front office. Staff are not not organized and are not great with communication. Look somewhere else! I will say though the nurse practitioner on staff is great though! I had shown up the day of my appt to learn that the appt had been cancelled and not given notice. The receptionist told me they would call ASAP to get a new day/time and never called. When I had tried to call in to set up a new appt 2 days later, the front office staff were not able to work with me to find an early opportunity to fit me in and shuffled my next available date to almost 20 days later. I recently moved to Long Beach and needed to find a new doctor. I was referred to Dr. Norcross by a friend. I was extremely impressed with my first visit. He took the time to listen to my entire medical history, he changed some of my chronic medications which I have been taking for years and I was extremely nervous about it, however, I am feeling better then I have been in ages so he knows what he is doing! Great Dr! Called me personally to discuss an Rx that wasn't covered by my insurance. Waiting times aren't long. Never a full house. Front office staff is very kind. Only reason for the lack of 5 stars is that I feel they can improve on the hand off process. When your appt is over, if you don't fully remember everything that he tells you, there will be things lost in translation. I wish the MA was in the room during the appt so she could relay all info needed to the front desk. Appts, prescriptions, etc needed. But, overall wonderful! My life hasn't been the same since I was under the care of Dr. Norcross. In the fall of 2016, I went in for a routine check up and to address a few concerns. He was insistent on the flu shot even after I explained that I had nearly died from a previous flu vaccination. He grew frustrated and guilted me into the shot by stating it was the best inoculation created and that I'd be a hazard to others had I not. He would not disclose what was in the shot and dismissed the potential risk that I had previously experienced. Shortly after, I became gravely ill, was temporarily paralyzed in my upper limbs, lost a significant amount of weight, could not lift myself up out of bed, developed seizure like activity, etc. He dismissed my alarming symptoms. Three years later and under the care of a new medical team, I was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome and it was discovered that I had sustained encephalitis and meningitis due to the shot. I am no longer able to work, not able to have children, and have lost the quality of my life all due to half hazard medical care. Dr. Norcross not only lacks compassion but he is a hazard to human health. read more

Dr Nash was my doctor prior to having to switch to norcross since Nash retired. Terrible idea to even consider him. He's a predatory, vindictive, power abusing excuse of a "professional". I went in for extremely bad allergies that have been causing a lot of breathing problems and loss of sleep and all he wanted to tell me was that I needed to come in for a Pap smear? So unprofessional, I'm not here to speak about my sexual health or birth control or anything except the allergies I'm dealing with. Then he got pissy with me and prescribed me an inhaler that was $300 that my insurance wouldn't cover and then refused to agree to another brand/type that the pharmacist suggested due to it only being $10 with my insurance. So I wasted an entire afternoon and $$$ for no solution and a weird push to give me a physical I didn't need and didn't ask for. Disgusting useless excuse for a professional. Ended up chatting with online dr services who wrote the prescription I asked for immediately and suggested the route I take to address the symptoms I'm having. Why I had to pay another doctor to do what I expected this joke of a doctor to do I'll never know. Save yourself the time, go anywhere else if you're a female, I suspect he would do anything a man asked for, but us ladies can't care for themselves in his opinion. read more

I was extremely disappointed by my encounter with Dr. Norcross. I waited over 45 minutes past my appointment time to see this doctor and his professionalism was sub par. The entire time I felt as though he was judging me by my young age and was speaking to me as a child rather than an adult. I could honestly say I was uncomfortable the whole time. He only talked with me about my problem for about five minutes and gave me no answers. I went in for back pain and he instead suggested a pelvic exam. He blamed my back problems that I have had for years on my current job that I have had for two months and the fact that I am a young person who uses my laptop and cell phone. Obviously I got a second opinion and I will definitely not be returning to Dr. Norcross. read more

Have a severe sinus infection after travelling get and can't get in at all, he's "double booked". Office staff can't manage to make a copy of my medical records and send back my originals. Yes, the office is close to home, but that's the biggest selling point. If you can get in, Dr Norcross is friendly and seems capable. Not a premium service. read more

I saw Dr. Norcross for the first time as a PCP to get a referral to a dermatologist. He said he'd like to treat me himself and told me to put a paper gown on so he could look at my skin but I hadn't even told him why I wanted to see a dermatologist. I said I want to see one for acne. He said oh ok. My wife is an esthetician so I am very familiar with treating acne. But he prescribed me antibiotics and benzol peroxide with clindomycin which only dried my skin out and I was still breaking out. He also rushed out before finishing with me. So 3 weeks later after minimal improvement I saw a dermatologist on my own since he didn't give me the referral and he told me I shouldn't be taking those antibiotics they have too many side effects and that's not what I need anyway. My dermatologist put me on a completely different treatment plan and knew exactly what to do. I think I will need to look for a new pcp. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Norcross for over 20 years and finally realized I should have posted on Yelp a while back. As a person who worked in the medical field I appreciate knowledge and experience above all else. Fortunately, Dr. Norcross also has a friendly demeanor and a real concern for his patient's health and their understanding of any medical issues they may have. When I worked in the cytogenetics lab at UCLA Medical Center, second best was never an option I gave myself when I put on my lab coat. It still isn't for those I trust my health to. I've never yelped before but Dr James Norcross is such a great healthcare physician that I wanted to make it known. The downside of visiting the Naples office is that I generally wait 30-60 minutes past my appointment time, but the attention and care that I am given every time is worth the wait. I have visited Dr Norcross many times for many different reasons and he is always patient, caring, understanding, and provides great solutions for each problem. He is very easy to talk to and despite his high level of expertise is very humble and he carefully considers all possibilities for diagnosis and treatment. I trust his judgement 100% and feel comfortable coming to him for any problem big or small. read more

Dr. norcross had treated my daughter for years. since sept. 2012 she had been complaining of pain and he just kept pushing it off as something else or blah, blah. finally the pain got so bad in dec.2012 she went to an urgent care and they imediately diagnosed her with stage 4 lung cancer. so to say i am unhappy with norcross would be a monumental mistake read more
