They serve smørrebrød (open-faced sandwich) and a nice variety at that. You can get a sandwich without the other piece of bread for about 90DKK average which translates to $10-20. What's nice about smørrebrød is that you can try 2 or more kinds without feeling sick to your stomach. I've visited 2 Aamanns locations while in Copenhagen. What I tried at this location were: Roast Beef Smørrebrød: Roast beef slices with béarnaise, pickled cucumber, mushrooms, crispy potatoes and thyme Pork Belly Smørrebrød: Fried pork belly with apples, cinnamon, kohlrabi and pork cracklings. The restaurant is clean, has natural lighting, has a few tables but it never super crowded so, it was relaxed when I went here.

The rich rye bread on each is such a hearty base to start off the layering. Each sandwich was different but they all share the same theme of rich savory toppings to fill you up. The rare roast beef flavor may have been our favorite. The chicken salad version was a little lighter and tasty. The salmon one was excellent as well and paired well with a rich aioli. We also tried a sort of deconstructed beef version that was tasty as well. 4 smørrebrød was just about the right amount for two people to share and be quite full. We had originally intended to just grab the to go version from the deli but ended up being seated in the more formal area. In the end, we were glad that we got to have the full experience. Part of which is enjoying little snaps of alcohol as a palate cleanser while you dine. Our waiter made great suggestions for flavors, and even though we were more hesitant about the herbal flavors they served their purpose really well. We can't wait to return.

Butter deliciously salty. If they served this with ice cream or something sweet for dessert it would be the perfect sweet/ salty combo - Hiramasa dish: light, refreshing dish. The cheese foam bottom is reminiscent of a whipped, light sour cream and adds depth to the light fish. The shaved asparagus and fingerlimes add the perfect touch of crunch and acidity - Witch flounder, so delicate and mild in flavor, the purée adds depth to this dish while the bread topped outside creates structure.I've never had such a light piece of bread topping Love the garlic dollop and radicchio topping. Every part of this dish feels intentional - Sweetbreads: perfect cook on the meat, I love the light sherry paring with this since the main part of the dish is fried. I loved the combo of pickles and caramelized onion but I'm an onion lover. (Call me shriek) Definitely a nice contrast in texture and more of a main dish than the other 2 - Lamb: the only dish that didn't nail it for me. But if there is anything I am allergic to, it is the snobbish attitude of the front of the house in some of the places that have probably one too many accolades. It's unfortunate, really, because I have seen cases that prove that you can be exceptional AND create an experience that comes from the heart, rather than the one that is overburdened with arrogance and pride. Anyhow, some of the items on the menu at AOC were delicious and surprising. For instance, I was at first skeptical about their take on the French onion soup - served in an actual onion - but was proven wrong as it was delightful. Their mackerel with kohlrabi & pumpkin juice was so fresh. Some of the other dishes were comme ci comme ca and had a tendency to fall apart on the plate or in the hands ... And at the end of the day, the dessert menu turned out to be the highlight of the evening: green strawberry with elderflower, Nordic vanilla and especially the pickled pine cones were to come back for. However, regardless of how good parts of the menu were, the whole experience just failed to come together as the good bits were overshadowed by the attitude of an extremely arrogant server who lacked training on some of the basics of hospitality. All in all, I think this place 1/ has become too comfortable resting on the Michelin laurels and has opportunity to rethink some aspects of its menu, 2/ urgently needs to revamp the front of the house training programs.

It was the bathroom. Apparently the owners of this place have a good sense of humor and piped in continuous soundtrack noises of foghorn and ship wars and seagulls. It made Lang waste to the room, an entirely different experience. The food was not bad, but the service was slow because the poor service person was completely overwhelmed. Speed is a big deal in the restaurant business and I was simply a solo diner - actually who am I kidding. Being that I always eat alone, part of the experience is observing other people. So that was actually quite pleasant. Would you recommend going here? Sure. Would I return? Probably not.

Booking online, my friend and I reserved the "Taste of Brace," a seven course dinner for around $92 USD without a wine pairing. We ended up buying two glasses of wine each and our total bill came to $310. That's not bad for fine dining. Here's our experience: 1) Food: The seven course dinner started with two snacks- a spoon of Danish cheese and a waffle-type dish. Then the five courses commenced with hamachi with cloud berries, a cucumber rose, pasta, beef and dessert. In between the cucumber rose and pasta came a small load of warm bread with currant butter. Each dish was flawlessly presented. The winner was the dessert- bee pollen and cocoa butter mousse, seabuck thorn gel and star anise ice cream with a buckwheat tuille. It was so unique and each flavor brought out the best in the next. 2) Drinks: The women curated the wine told the story behind each wine from different parts of Italy. Not wanting to do the wine pairing, we asked her which wine would work with all the courses. She suggested an orange wine from a boutique producer and it was perfect. 3) Service: The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. 4) Space: It's near our first hotel SP34 and right near the center city. It's in a yellow house that looks more like a villa. The tables to the open kitchen concept was stunning and inviting. If you want a Michelin experience, consider Brace.

Brace is a really special place!…read more It embraces the best of the Italian and the Nordic kitchen. Fresh, light snacks - especially the signature carbonara is crazy good. Most dishes are fresh finger foods, so yummy and not too big, so you can taste a lot. The chef makes divine pastas - always make sure to have at least one pasta dish. And always go for the truffles (they have their own import). Or go all the way and try Brace Experience, Brace's version of an Italian dinner, which is worth a Michelin star!

We got the tasting menu with wine pairing so there were many dishes. The highlights were definitely the beef tongue and goose. The beef tongue was perfectly tender and the wild goose was beautifully tender. I can't say enough about their bread. It's like their version of a sour dough brioche that has been finished off on the grill. And the dip that it comes with is crack. The best part is you can have as much of it as you like. The wine pairings also went very well with the courses. It really complemented the dishes perfectly. And after dinner, you can even sit in their garden with a warm fire pit. If you have a chance, make a reservation to Amass. You won't be disappointed.
