Other courses run here include languages, TEFL, business studies and marketing etc. The Brunswick site is a good central location accessible to people travelling in from all directions but it will all change next year when all the courses are transferred to a new building in the Titanic Quarter. The new campus promises to be state of the art but thanks to educational cuts the number of places may be limited so if you are interested in studying it's advisable to apply early to ensure you get your slot.

This building is part of BMC (formerly BIFHE) and was known, many moons ago, as The College of Business Studies a.k.a. the college of biz.This building would have all the GNVQ and Higher National Diploma courses in business, many of which can serve as a bridge to the second year of a degree in the University of Ulster, as well as being a qualification in their own right. There's a whole range of courses on offer here, and they have a lot of catering courses as well. They also do a lot of part-time courses and Saturday courses, from web design courses to language courses, and photography to cake decorating. Principals here are always pretentious and often refer to the pupils as 'the cream of Belfast'. the 6th form centre is crampt but the school is currently being rebuilt so hopefully this will be greatly improved. the completion date is still unknownsupposedly it was 'meant' to be finished this year but really building has only just started and is a pain for pupils trying to concentrate as its quite noisy in classrooms close to the construction site. The majority of teachers are excellent and teach to a very high standard, and as much as I dislike the upcoming system and changes to education I would recommend this school to prospective students.

One is that no-one can live in Belfast for any amount of time and not be aware of St Malachy's. The amount of young gentlemen I have met during the course of my, em, career who are past pupils of the place has been considerable, and they have all had nothing but good things to say about it. The second reason is that back in my North Belfast News days, I interviewed the headmaster as part of a feature on the school. How pleased I was to go up that drive and into the hallowed halls of the school for a nosy. Yes, really. I'm a geek. Dr Morrin took over an hour out of his very busy day to go through the history and ethos of the college with me, and it was one of my more memorable and enjoyable interviews. I was in St Malachy's, for freak's sake! As a ladyperson! I mentioned that I had two ex boyfriends who were past pupils, and he remembered them both. Even better, although he was the soul of discretion, he clearly liked the good one and had dubious memories of the bad one. Ha. An outstanding school and a Belfast institution. I still smile going past it on the bus up the Antrim Road. Oh, and their website is pretty good too.

The style of teaching was quite different in that it was a lot more relaxed in St Malachy's than it was in my previous school and I don't know if that was a good thing or not. More importantly, this is where I met some the most inspiring teachers (as well as complete ejits) and made friends that I still have five years on. The majority of the buildings are very old and have a great history behind them. A lot of these buildings were left unoccupied and we'd often have a wonder around them. These were the old dorms which now were left empty but still have quite a lot of the furniture in them, which made them quite creepy. The Study area's used by the 6th year students hold a lot of good memories for me. This is where a lot of students spent their free periods just chatting or more importantly (ahem) revising. A great place that I even today still have a lot of time for.

There is lots of objects and activities to stimulate the kids. Including out door play areas and indoor sensory rooms.

From what I have heard other courses are better than the one I did. So perhaps look at one of those. The building is pretty nice. Take the elevator as the stairs can be confusing working out where you are. The views from the newly developed building as of 2016 are awesome. The lighting is also great.

It's a fabulous, free day out where you can wander around the Belfast campus of UU enjoying recent graduate artwork. Also known as Belfast School of Art or The Art College. The building itself is an impressive architectural delight, full of natural light and is warm, welcoming and modern in atmosphere and design. Home to BA, Masters and PhD courses in all areas of design, fine arts, craft and architecture. You can literally see everything here - ceramics, silversmithing, jewellery, sculpture, painting, installation art, graphic design, film, interior and architecture etc. The graduate show is open to the public for approximately a week each June. Wear comfy shoes, as once you're in Belfast School of Art you'll literally spend a full day taking in all the wonderful, exciting and sometimes weird art on display. Most of the art is for sale, so if you fall in love with a piece you might be able to buy it - and who knows - it might even be by a future superstar Artist! I just graduated in May from The Open University with a first class honours degree in Psychology - I had an absolutely wonderful experience and was able to fit in my job with my studies. I think I attended 3 classes and the rest I did at home - if you are self motivated and driven this could be the type of course for you. Three years of hard work on my part and immense resources and back up if I needed it. I was incredibly proud to collect my degree back in May and to be a representative of the massive OU community. The Belfast branch have been particularly supportive both during my studies and since I have graduated.

Things have changed though and now distance learning is slowly what universities are increasingly moving towards. I really don't have an issue with it, most of my degree as with many academic subjects are done by the student, facilitated by Power Point slides and a whack of PDFs too. The Open Uni has a wide range of courses ranging from law orientated to languages right through to fully accredited masters courses. It's the sort of thing I would probably do down the line if I wanted further education.
